  1. Xero is giving 4 months free of Analytics Plus if the file is upgraded before 30 June 2023.

It would be AWESOME if you would add Analytics Plus to the Demo Company so we could demonstrate the product to team members and to clients.

Expenses is available in the Demo Company, so is Projects, why not Hubdoc and Analytics Plus?

Please make the Demo Company have the FULL suite of Xero products available.

  2. When selecting a published report to copy for the next period, it would be ideal if there was a copy and edit option in the shortcut options. This would allow users to create a copy of the report from the main menu instead of being required to open the report and then selecting the option.

  4. Is there the ability to make the cashflow report into an accrual report also so we have one report that can show p&l and capital expenditure with an area for adjusted accounts payable/receivable still outstanding and then projecting the bank balance.

Currently we use a 12-month P&L and then have to do a separate balance sheet and it doesn't quite hit the mark.

  6. To be able to view at a glance the 'period taken from a customer to pay invoices' from the Due Date to when the funds have reached the supplier's bank account. This is instead of exporting the Xero report in an excel sheet and then adding a formula to calculate the difference between the two dates. Surely with all the information already stored in the Xero account, this option shouldn't be too difficult to add. Thank you.

  7. It would be very useful to be able to change the names of the General Ledger Account Types. Also Fixed Assets should be changed to Capital Assets because Capital Assets is really the applicable term because not all Fixed Assets fixed. Machinery, equipment, rolling stocks......

  8. When importing a text block report from Figured into Xero annual accounts template, we have no control over the page breaks. This often results in undesirable page breaks. An ability to add page breaks into a text block would fix this.

  12. People here in PH are starting to use Xero and I think many more will use it too if you create reports that are required by our Tax Authority such as:

    Sales Journal
    Purchase Journal
    Cash Receipts Journal
    Cash Disbursements Journal

Most of our clients are asking for this. I really hope you will be able to implement this.

Hi everyone, just wanting to highlight that as Caroline has suggested, it is likely the Account Transactions reports in Xero could be used to create the reports required. However, this depends on what information you require each report to contain.

If anyone is able to reply with more specific details on whether any information is unable to be obtained via the account transaction report this will help our product team better understand what's needed.

  13. Sometimes an entity will de-register for GST because they are no longer required to file, then circumstances change and they re-register. Currently in Xero when you re-register Xero creates all the prior period GST returns for when the client was deregistered. You then have to manually delete all the prior draft returns.

Would be great if you could have an option to choose the new start date for GST.

    thanks!

  14. Most of our clients (and I imagine many small businesses in the U.S.) use a hybrid reporting basis. Basically, short term assets and liabilities are recorded using the cash basis while long term assets and liabilities are recorded using the accrual basis.
Therefore, for example, this will result in sales being recorded when cash received but depreciation and amortization expense are recorded monthly. This method of reporting also results in the accounting basis being more similar to tax basis.

Xero actually has a webpage describing this (https://www.xero.com/us/guides/cash-vs-accrual-accounting) but states "And if you run a hybrid accounting system, smart…

  16. Currently the IR10, Box 60 says 'Investment Boost Claimed', but this is misleading as the amount that needs to be entered is the value of the assets which are having Investment Boost claimed.

The IRD's IR10 Guide calls Box 60 'Total value of Investment Boost asset(s) being claimed'.

Please change the name of Box 60 to match the IR10 guide. This will make it easier for users to enter the correct amount.

  17. Add Capital Works Worksheet to SMSF Tax – Deductions

    Problem
In the SMSF tax return, the Capital Works (Division 43) deduction does not include a worksheet. While users can manually enter a total amount, there is no built‑in worksheet to calculate or track the capital works deduction.
This creates a gap in functionality, as accountants must maintain a separate external worksheet to calculate capital works depreciation and then manually transfer the result into Xero.
    Why this matters
Capital works deductions are very common and material for SMSFs that hold property. Without an integrated worksheet:

    Calculations are more time‑consuming
    There is…

  18. When setting up Xero for a registered Subcontractor it would be really useful if Xero automatically created a revenue code for CIS Materials Income, like it does for CIS Labour Income.
When setting up a registered Contractor, Xero automatically creates CIS Labour expense and CIS Materials Purchased. But for Subcontractors to invoice CIS Materials Income they have to create their own code. But this is not mentioned in the support articles.
If Xero cannot add this code to the Subcontractor CIS set up, then can they at least add guidance in their support articles please.

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

We've reviewed your idea to show the Trial Balance by category and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

In the meantime, did you know that you can group the Trial Balance by 'Account Class' or 'Account Type'? Whilst not the exact functionality requested, these options allow you to split the accounts up within the report.
