  1. For NZ tax calc we reconcile to the figure after Dividends and tax expense. I see that there has been an update done (I am assuming for Australia) which is not suitable for NZ. Can you have an option for the tax amount to be either pre or post?

  2. Please allow the option to show the Income and Expense by Client Report in CASH BASIS, so that we can see this report by the amounts PAID by the client this month, not just INVOICED to the client this month.

    Hi Emily, we understand that for businesses using cash accounting, it’s helpful to see income and expenses based on when money is actually received or paid.

    We hear the request to run the “Income and Expenses by Contact” report on a cash basis so you can more easily review what’s been paid and collected per contact in a given period.

    We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams consider adding a cash basis option to this report.

  3. Instead of upgrading the homepage, could you at least make it possible for email reminders to be sent to Employers about PAYE due? I'm accruing fines & tax interests because of late PAYE payments. The least Xero could do is send a reminder 3-4 days prior to the due date.

    My accountant only notified me of the overdue payments when he stumbled across the penalties. IRD failed to send me a notice/email/letter about the due payments (I don't know why). So please, Xero, could you please make an email reminder service possible for GST and PAYE of employees? It will…

  5. An invoice report that also incorporates the Billing and Delivery addresses. This is essential if you do consignments such as in freight forwarding and you want to report on a group of customers per the consignment or you want to create a delivery list. The work arround at the moment is to export all invoices and clean the spreadsheet out to exclude what you dont want

    I’d like to share a reporting idea that I think would add a lot of value for finance teams who need a quick, complete ledger-style view of activity—beyond what Aged Debtors/Creditors currently provides.

    The gap today

    Aged Debtors and Aged Creditors are very useful, but they focus on what is still outstanding (unpaid/part-paid). There isn’t an easy way to see all invoices or bills (paid, unpaid, and partially paid) in a single monthly overview, broken down by customer/supplier.

Hi, i think for a team who have targets each week, it would be good to have a report that is a bar graph with the income so far that day, week, month with a line across the bars coming up with a line for average and one for target. The only report that comes cross i could find gave to much info as this is for our admin/coordinators and they dont have access to all the financials they only need the income for the day/week and see if they have met the target.

  9. On the 'to file' tab when you click into a client's tax return there's a blue button that says 'File' right next to the three dots that you would click to suspend a return. I believe this is too easy to accidently click and can lead to tax returns being lodged on accident. If there was a pop up that says something like 'Would you like to lodge now' that would be a good safeguard.

    Appreciate how this could be done by mistake, Amber. Thanks for sharing your idea in the forums here. While this isn't something we have plans around at present we'l keep an eye on the interest your idea grows and be sure to share if there are any updates.

  10. I'm currently doing superannuation for a client, having finalised their last payrun for the month. I've got the superannuation accruals report up on screen, so I can match that to what I'm paying, and to the bill in which I allocate each employee and direct contractor's super to the project they're working on.

    Hi Freya thanks for your feedback on this UI. I can see that the report(s) does not automatically scale it to the size of the window. We've moved this idea to gain more support and will monitor this for more traction.

  11. Can we have the ability to run a P&L report using the original transaction values rather than calculated values based on the exchange rate that's been set. For example, my base currency is GBP but we need to report the P&L for a division in Spain in Euros based on actual cash figures. The multi-currency P&L report in Xero allows me to select to produce the report in Euros but for some reason it calculates all the figures based on the fixed exchange rate that has been entered rather than using the original / actual Euro transaction figures entered.   13. We need to be able to edit the start and end dates on an ITR to accommodate clients with a substituted accounting period. For companies and trusts, this is manageable because Xero allows the period start and end dates to be edited to reflect the SAP, but the same functionality doesn't exist for Individuals Tax Returns.

  14. When preparing a personal tax return it would be great if there was as option to attach files in each section. So we can attach things like bank interest statement, P60, P11d, dividend vouchers, state pension, personal pension etc.

  15. When you run an account transaction report, for a balance sheet item, the opening balance always appears in the date column. It would be helpful if Xero could recode this so that the date column is balance date + 1, and the words "opening balance" appear in the source column. The advantage of this is that when you go to use the data, and put in a filter, you don't have to edit this.

  17. Aged Receivables/Payables Summary report to include invoice numbers by default, which is commonly available in other accounting softwares. It is crucial to know the number of invoices and unique invoice reference number for ease of reference when reviewing ageing.

  18. There are a number of things bugging me regarding the essential task of reconciling bank accounts. The Bank Reconciliation Reports are easy enough to create, but after that it all goes wrong. Nobody seems to have thought about what happens to them after the 'Publish' button is pressed! Here's what I think - and please please please vote for this or nothing will change.

  19. When pulling a Contacts report (expense by vendor, cash payments made to vendors, etc) out of Xero, please add the ability to "turn on" more fields from Contacts. For 1099 purposes, it's crucial to see "business entity" selections and "DBA names" (IRS-registered business name) when preparing the 1099 report. I know you can see this info within the 1099 report, but looking at one contact at a time is not efficient.

  20. Can a total be added under the amount on this report.
    If a total was available, I wouldn't need to export to excel simply to add a total before sharing the report.

    Ideally, the total would also apply to groups on the report, ie, total by employee and total for all employees.

    Thanks for letting us know you'd like the Transaction Listing Details Report to have a total per Employee and or Group when you filter the report by Group.

    As you've found, the report will only show itemised values. One work around would be to export the report to Excel or Google sheets and add a summary total manually. We'd also suggest taking a look at the Transaction Listing Summary Report.
