Fixed Assets - Intangible Assets with dedicated Amortization schedules
It would be useful to be able to add intangible assets to the Fixed Asset Register and actually have them classified as intangible assets on the register, rather than everything being classed as a tangible asset as it is currently. Then you could expand on this and allow setting for annual impairment write-offs or amortisation policies.
1 voteHi Jake, thank you for bringing this suggestion to the community. We understand why having a dedicated way to manage intangible assets could be valuable, especially when you’re tracking items like software, patents, trademarks, or other non-physical assets. Keeping these records separate from physical fixed assets can help make reporting and compliance reviews much clearer.
Currently, Xero Fixed Assets is primarily designed around physical assets and depreciation.
One option for now is to create custom asset types and map them to the relevant accounts in your Chart of Accounts. While this does not provide a separate amortisation workflow, it can help you keep these assets organised and track their values over time.I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue to gather feedback and votes.

Aged Payable report - add creditor bank account number as a drop down selection in the filters
Aged payable report - please add drop down in the filter - bank account number detail. This would be helpful to cross check bank accounts before getting to the 'create batch for payment' especially in schools where we have two people to authorise accounts.

Rearrange the Reporting menu sections:
Section 1: All Reports, Custom, Advisor, Drafts, Published, Archived
Section 2: Favourites
Section 3: Reporting Settings
Then have a separate menu dropdown for Analytics - then move the current Analytics, Short-term cash flow + Business snapshot items onto the new menu
Then within the All reports page, have a menu in the side panel to navigate to each reporting section (make all report sections visible in the pane) - e.g. payroll, tax, financial, etc. The whole page could do with a rework, the report grouping is a little cumbersome...please can Fixed Assets reporting have its…1 voteHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. Company Accounts (UK) | Submission receipt
We have been using the New Financial Accounts FRS102 IA template in Xero Business. Here are our feedback notes. In case anyone else is having the same issues.
When filing you do not receive a submission receipt at all!1 voteThanks for your feedback. We understand that having a submission receipt would be valuable.
We can confirm this is now in development 🛠️, and our product team is actively working on a solution. While we don't have a timeframe to share right now, we'll return to update this idea as progress is made and when we have more to share.

Company Accounts (UK) | Add option to show Company Authentication Code
We have been using the New Financial Accounts FRS102 IA template in Xero Business. Here are our feedback notes. In case anyone else is having the same issues.
When filing you can not recheck the CAC code as it's got to vision allowance.1 vote🌟 Thanks for sharing this idea — we can see how valuable it would be to have the option to show and recheck the Company Authentication Code during filing. Being able to confirm the code before submission would help reduce errors and would also make the experience more accessible for customers who need to verify what they’ve entered.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue to capture interest and better understand how many customers would benefit from this improvement. We’ll continue to monitor the support it receives, and any updates on this idea will be shared here.
If this would help your workflow, please add your vote and any additional comments. That helps our product team better understand the impact and value of this request.

Capital gain from trust distribution is not in the company
There is caital gain in the trust distributed to the company, but it seems not included in company tax return. The company and trust is connect in XERO, all the income is in but not the capital gain, it is in 'Trust income schedule', but not included in company taxable income.

Reports - Link Notes Back to Statements
Can you please add a link the note that takes us back to the statement it relates to? i.e. when we click on the note number in the statement, it takes us to the note. Can we get the reverse done too? Then we can more easily check that the note reconciles with the statement figure.
1 voteHi Philippa, thanks for sharing this suggestion.
We understand you’re looking for a way to link report notes directly back to the related transactions or source statements, making it easier to review the details behind key insights.
Having connected notes and transaction references could help make management reporting easier to follow and support more efficient reviews.
We’ll continue to monitor the conversation and gather feedback from the community as this idea gains support.

"Last week" common selection date range
When selecting a date range in reports, please can a "last week" / "this week" common date selection be added?
1 voteHi Arthur, is there a particular report you'd find this selection most useful for? It's unlikely we'd add this as a common date range across all reports at once - it'd be good to better understand the reports this would be most helpful for you on. Thanks

Reporting - Add an internal review comments and query workflow feature inside reports
Add tab toggling over 2 windows so that one can make back-end amendments and go straight back to reviewing an accounting report.
To supplement month-end/year-end review and sign offs, add a feature for Review Comments and Tracking.
1 voteHi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand you’re looking for an internal comment and query workflow within reports, so teams can discuss findings and review items without needing to move between different tools.
Having collaboration features built into reports could help make review processes more connected and keep conversations closer to the work being completed.
I’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and examples from the community.
Because this thread also packages a separate request regarding a tab-toggle layout to switch between report views, we ask that you create a new, dedicated idea for that specific navigation change so it can build its own support from the community

NZ Tax - Separate 7th May Provisional Tax from 7th April Terminal Tax on payment summaries and letters
The Tax summary table in the tax return needs to show the 7th May provisional still owing as seperate to the remainder being due for terminal 7th April. Currently itt is grouped all in terminal meaning it is incorrect as doesnt show clients they need to pay an amount a year earlier
1 voteHi Gary, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand you’re looking for payment summaries and letters to show 7 May Provisional Tax and 7 April Terminal Tax as separate items, rather than combining them.
Having these tax obligations separated could make it easier to review amounts and communicate payment details to clients during busy compliance periods.
I’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and examples from the community.

AU Tax - Allow the Supplementary Income section to be printed directly after the main Income section in the ITR
To confirm, there isn’t currently a way to move the Supplementary income section so that it appears straight after the main Income section in the printed ITR.
When using the new layout, Xero Tax does let you customise print settings, but this only lets you choose which main sections to print and reorder the sections that are available in the print pack, but it doesn’t let you change the internal order of the Individual return such as the Supplementary income section. This makes it difficult if you quickly want to look in the ITR and review all of the income…
1 voteHi Carly, thanks for raising this idea.
We can see how placing the Supplementary Income section directly after the main Income section could create a more consistent reading flow and reduce the need to move back and forth between pages during reviews.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

year to date
It would be nice to be able to select "year to date" when choosing comparison periods of quarters or months on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Right now the only way to do so is to manually do the math on how many months back the fiscal year end began, which is especially inconvenient for entities with non-calendar year ends.

pack date range
Every new year tax year (1 April) the reports for the previous year that we are still using ie 31 March 2025 automatically change to the 31 March of the current year ie 31 March 2027 and the Last Financial year changes to 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
In the drop down box for the Pack Date Range Custom would it be possible to add a Last financial year -1 so that it reads the date range for the previous year that we are still compiling for ie: Date range 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.1 voteThanks for taking the time to explain how you’re using the Pack date range and why you’d like a “Last financial year -1” option. This isn’t something we’re actively working on right now, so we’re moving your idea to Gaining support. This lets other partners and small businesses add their vote and specific scenarios, which helps our product teams understand how many people are impacted and how this should be prioritised alongside other reporting work.
In the meantime, the best available workaround is to set the prior year using a Custom date range and reuse that report pack where possible.

Xero Analytics - Cash flow forecasting customisation
More flexibility for cash flow forecasting - categorisation by account code, manual upload to edit upcoming items rather than one by one, customising summaries (like month end balances).
1 voteAppreciate you sharing how we could improve Cash flow manager, Vanisha. I've just split your idea into 2 so we can track the customisation and bulk update portions separately.
You'll find the idea for bulk updates across here.
If there are any updates planned for either of these we'll let you know on the respective idea. In the meantime share your idea with other colleagues that'd also find this useful to help build up the support in this. 🙂

AU Tax - Dropdown (or expandable lists) of Tax Return items within each section
Dropdown list of Tax Return items.
Hi Xero Team,
I’d like to suggest a possible enhancement to the Tax Returns section for easier navigation.
Would it be possible to add dropdowns (or expandable lists) that show all tax return items within each section, similar to the attached example? This would make it much easier to jump directly to specific items instead of scrolling through the full return.
For example, having a dropdown list for all income categories, deductions, offsets, and other tax return items would help users quickly locate the exact section they need, especially when reviewing or updating multiple…
1 voteHi Sailah, thanks for sharing your feedback here. We can see how long lists in tax returns can make navigation harder, especially as returns become more detailed.
A collapsible or expandable layout could make it easier to focus on the section you’re working on. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

Company Accounts (UK) | Ability to change default format of Director names
We have been using the New Financial Accounts FRS102 IA template in Xero Business. Here are our feedback notes. In case anyone else is having the same issues.
We had a resignation of a Company secretary and in the period. It does not show resignation date. Also the formatting of the directors name is interesting to say the least. Not a normal format. Last name first.I'll note that the program is significantly easier to use than the current company accounts and tax module. But still needs work around processes.
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea 🙂
We’re moving it to Accepted, as this is something the team has planned. While we don’t have an ETA to share right now, it is on the roadmap and we’ll update this idea when there’s more to share.

Reporting - Add an option to include the Report Code column on the Trial Balance and GL Summary reports
Have the ability to include the Report Code on the General Ledger Summary or Trial Balance report. At present, can only report on what Report Code an account has by printing the Chart of Accounts.
With the new workpapers working on the Report Code, would be good to be able to see which Report Code an item has when working with the General Ledger Summary or Trial Balance.1 voteHi Judy, thanks for bringing this idea to our attention. We understand how having Report Codes visible directly within reports like the Trial Balance and General Ledger Summary could make it easier to review mappings and cross-reference accounts without switching between multiple screens.
Including Report Codes as an optional column could also help streamline reporting reviews and external tax or compliance workflows.
We’ll continue tracking the feedback and interest shared here.

Xero Tax (UK) | Increase the 1MB file size limit and allow multiple supporting documents
The supporting document for the Corporation Tax return is limited to one document of less than 1MB, which is sometimes not large enough for R&D claim supporting documents, even after compression.
1 voteHi Stephen, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand the value of having more flexibility for attachments to support tax filing workflows.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support while we continue tracking the interest and feedback shared here.
