  1. There isn’t the ability to have a ‘reporting name’ for a bank account name on the Chart of accounts
    (. e.g. you either have to update the name in the system (problematic for live files where the client names accounts based upon their use and not in out reporting name format) or manually create a group with the correct name when drafting the financials to replace the account name.

    Thanks for your images showing what you're meaning here, Zoe. Makes it super clear for others and our product teams. 

    Appreciate it's not the ideal solution but good to hear you're aware of how you can group and rename an account through the Financial reports at present. We'll keep an eye on the interest in this, here. 

  2. In the account transactions report, the reference for batch deposits (of invoices) should be the payment reference.

    Currently, the individual invoice numbers are presented for batch deposits when you run account transactions.

  3. Having the option to include a digital signature in the report templates, the ability to paste an image into the text section would suffice for this. Useful for the statement of disclaimer where the firm needs to sign off every report. Currently the only way to do this is by exporting the report to a PDF manager and pasting the signature in.

  4. Ability to handle reverse charges for VAT EU in Xero Global edition.

    Purpose: It’ll save users time instead of having to use third party API or creating a second line with a negative amount.

  5. Ability to insert forecasted figures into Xero and run a forecast report alongside the budget report. We get to half year and assess how on track we are with budget and more often than not it makes sense to adjust the forecast numbers for the remainder of the period but not lose sight of what the budget was in the first place.
    If we're able to run a report with actuals for YTD and forecast for the remainder of the period it would be hugely helpful

  6. Receivable invoice summary- add notes column - if notes are made on why invoice are not yet paid. can we run an age receivables report, that also includes the notes on an invoice please

  7. Quickbooks allows this: and 501c6 and 501c3 find this EXTREMELY useful. We don't budget by the month per se; we budget yearly.

  8. The new Profit and Loss report does not filter the actuals AND budget by tracking category. You have to manually add the correct tracking category budget to the report. When you have 40 plus tracking categories this becomes time consuming and silly.

    The old profit and loss report did this easily. So the new report is a major step backwards

    Ensure the filter for the new profit and loss report filters BOTH actuals and budget, so the report is easy to produce and has meaning. Do not expect users to add the correct column for budget - particularly those less…

    This isn't something we have planned at present but will get a sense of the appetite here and let you know if there's any change. 

  10. When running an account transactions report, the ability to add a column to show line items that are marked as billable expenses or, a filter option to filter for billable expenses.

    Hey everyone, appreciate that this idea's intent is to help save user's time in calculating the VAT, but I wanted to share that it is possible to record partial VAT exemptions, for those who aren't aware. We will continue to to track interest in this idea but in the meantime you can:

    1. Calculate your own your partial exemption adjustment amounts
    2. Enter them as VAT box adjustments on your non-MTD or MTD VAT return

    Alternatively, if you use a set percentage adjustment you could do one of the following:

    • Add a custom Tax Rate for your % rate.
    • Adjust the VAT on each bill to the amount you can claim. Click the + next to the tax rate to do this. (You'll need to use the 'Amounts are' Tax Exclusive option to see it.)

    We recommend you talk to your accounting advisor or HMRC if you need more help with this.

  12. Thanks for adding the new "compare tracking categories" in the new Profit & Loss Report.

    However, even with this additional development the new version of Profit & Loss Report requires you to manually add each tracking category one by one. Having the feature of "select all" reinstated as the old version did would be really helpful.

    Having limited tracking categories to 200 isn’t helpful, previously Xero was able to search across an unlimited number of tracking categories, but only report on the active ones.

    I’m sure there are many users that have more than 200 tracking categories (not always active…

  15. Ability to show details on notes or comments from Invoices/Contact record to Aged Payable report.

  17. Adding tracking categories to VAT return/reports:

    I would like to run a VAT return/report per quarter to be shown by tracking category rather than as a whole. There is not an option on the current VAT report to add the tracking categories, therefore I think this would add benefits to any client that uses tracking categories for departments.

    Thanks for your response, Jordan. Can see why the Account Transactions report won't fit in this scenario. 

    To be upfront we don't have current plans around this with much of our reporting teams focus on change in the new reporting framework in lead up to removing older reports in July this year - More on this here 

    I've slightly amended the title of your idea and we'll feel out the interest for this here and update if any change is planned. 

    For now if not already, I'd highly encourage sharing link to the idea here with your clients and colleagues that'd like to see this to support, too. 

  18. It's unfathomable to me that it is not possible to do something as simple as output sales by state or by province or by country or by city. These are discreet fields in Xero and we ought to be able to filter a sales or P&L report to just include sales for some regions or to summarize by state or country. Right now all I can do is export all transactions and run everything through excel, which is not the way this should work. Thanks.

    Hi team, while not a fully fledged report you may find Smart Lists within a contact useful at present. 

    From Contacts you can set up and get a list of customers that meet certain rules that you've set up - such as 'Location' is and setting this to one or more locations your customers are based. 

  19. Revise Activity Statement / IAS via Xero when a client has lodged their own IAS/BAS. It would be beneficial for tracking purposes if Xero offered the facility to unlock a submitted BAS/IAS to review & amend and relodge with the ATO. Whilst these can be revised via ATO Portal there is no tracking or record of an amendment in Xero

  20. Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.

    Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.
