  1. Ability to allow a 13 month accounting period.

    Purpose: Because there are some industries that are benefited by getting 13 month/13 four weeks accounting period (e.g. restaurants that depends on running on a weekly sales basis).

  2. New GST return layout and a few thoughts around it :-
    1) when you export the PDF, the file name only shows as eg, GST return 01022024 for a GST return for period ending 31 March 2024. Why can't it show the client's company name, GST return followed by Period end date?
    2) when you try to export the PDF with accounting firm logo - it doesn't seem to work and who has "minutes" to wait for it to download?
    3? The body of the report is now in landscape which if the client were to print would…

    Hi everyone, we appreciate all your feedback on the new GST return and while I've made sure your feedback has been shared with product, we're going to close this idea being too broad to focus in on a particular change.

    We've created individual ideas for the following points raised as it'd be good to track the interest in each separately. Please do add your vote to each that you'd like to see.

    I'd also encourage raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support if you're having any issues with performance or usability as it'd be good to get more detail and our team can investigate.

  3. There isn’t the ability to have a ‘reporting name’ for a bank account name on the Chart of accounts
    (. e.g. you either have to update the name in the system (problematic for live files where the client names accounts based upon their use and not in out reporting name format) or manually create a group with the correct name when drafting the financials to replace the account name.

    Appreciate it's not the ideal solution but good to hear you're aware of how you can group and rename an account through the Financial reports at present. We'll keep an eye on the interest in this, here.

  5. It would be great if a column could be added to either the Aged Receivables Report or the Receivable Invoice Detail Report that shows the number of days the invoice is overdue by.

    The number of days an invoice is overdue by can be seen on the 'Awaiting Payment' tab in the invoice section in Xero, but even on this part the information cannot be exported.

  6. I still don't understand why Xero rounds any amounts? Could we have an option to disable all rounding in Xero. I have just left MYOB after 10 years, they never did anything like this. I moved to Xero on advice from my accountant, starting to regret this! Leave it as an option for whoever is rounding stuff (very werid), but please give me a checkbox that totally disables rounding. Please!

  7. Under Custom Reports

    I send out reports to my departments each month, this morning it took 4 hours to add the tracking codes to the new P & L reports (we love the new report and so do our Department Heads).
    I was wondering if there is a way of saving each custom report for each individual dept with their tracking within a folder. We have a Junior and Senior Campus and about 45 departments at each. We already have a lot of custom reports so having a folder system would allow each Admin staff member to access what they…

    There's no facility to create folders in the Reports Centre for this sort of categorisation atm. 

    We'll begin tracking support in this here.

    Hi everyone, thanks for raising and supporting this idea of having more visibility or an alert when turnover is reaching the VAT threshold. This is something our team have picked up and taking a deeper dive into. No promises at this point but we'll keep you updated of any news here.

  9. One custom template layout that could be transferred over all reports. We have multiple nominal codes for income and expenditure which means a lot of work to set up a new custom report. I currently have to export into excel which can cause errors.

  10. It's unfathomable to me that it is not possible to do something as simple as output sales by state or by province or by country or by city. These are discreet fields in Xero and we ought to be able to filter a sales or P&L report to just include sales for some regions or to summarize by state or country. Right now all I can do is export all transactions and run everything through excel, which is not the way this should work. Thanks.

    Hi team, while not a fully fledged report you may find Smart Lists within a contact useful at present. 

    From Contacts you can set up and get a list of customers that meet certain rules that you've set up - such as 'Location' is and setting this to one or more locations your customers are based. 

  11. GST Reconciliation report to work using the Simpler BAS option. It doesn't seem to pull anything that's already been filed/finalised through using this report

  12. Users should be able to generate a report of transactions without receipts attached. This allows small business administrators to identify which transactions don't yet have receipts attached.

    Hi community, thank you for engaging with us about your needs in a report to view where attachments have not been uploaded to a transaction.

    We get how this is a need for some businesses to validify expenses and process payments.

    Right now, this isn't in the teams roadmap, however we'd like to keep tracking the interest around this and will share if it is picked up in any future planning with you all here.

  13. Description Field with the bank narration

    This happened as a couple of newer client and new to xero in the contact field wrote something incredibly different to the bank narration which makes it very difficult to review the general ledger information.

    For example in the General Account the transactions descriptions are all listed as "John Smith" when if the bank narration option was available I could see it is Officeworks, KFC, etc and this would make it easier to realise these are miscoded and reallocate.

  14. The Supplier Bill Activity report is great for showing transactions for a Supplier if you operate only with one currency.
    However, for accounts with Multicurrency, it should also include optional columns for the Source Currency amounts and when showing just one currency, the balances in that currency in the list of columns.

  15. Include the option to enter the Registered User's UTR number in CIS verifications as well as the Organisations UTR number which will allow partnerships to be verified - HMRC need both to verify a partnership.

  16. It will be really great from the Aged Receivables Reports to be able to send Statements to Customers without having to leave the page and come back to it.

    A flag, on the Aged Receivables Reports, of when last a statement was sent will also be very useful.

  17. Ability to choose a cost limit for a fixed asset when the depreciation method is set to 'Full Depreciation at Purchase'.

    For instance a car is purchased for over the cost limit, therefore only $64k or so is able to be written off immediately with the balance to sit as an undepreciable amount.

    Currently the full depreciation at purchase method writes off the whole amount, and diminishing value at 100% with a cost limit will still pro-rata the depreciation for the year and not write off the full cost limit amount.

    Thanks for the ongoing support in this idea, team. I want to be upfront that we don't currently have any plans for adding Discuss to reports however we'd like to keep tracking the support of this with community here, and will share if there are any changes to update you of.
