  1. Currently we create a budget for each tracking category (department).

    I have created a custom report which includes the budget for each category. I then use the formula function to sum the budgets together.

    I only want to see the formula column in the report outputted. (I realise that columns can be hidden when data is exported to Excel)

    I understand that there is not a way to show a formula column without all the individual budget columns.

    Enhancement suggestion: include a radio button for each column to hide/reveal that column in the report

  2. When you download a P&L / BS report (whether old or new templates), and include comparative periods, there should be an option to choose left to right, or right to left. If i have downloading for Jul-22, with 12 months of comparatives, i want the oldest month to be on the left, and Jul-22 to be all the way to the right. That is typically how all excel financial models are built, and the basis of these models is historical financials.

  4. Have the ability to create more than one report style (colour and logo) so when you export to a 'Styled PDF' there are choices beyond 'no styling' and your default.

    Hi team, we appreciate interest in being able to create more customised layouts when it comes to the styling of the PDF's of your reports.

    Being upfront this isn't a feature we have immediate plans around but we'd like to keep tracking the interest from community around, through this idea.

  5. Please update depreciation schedule to allow for custom percentages per year, for small business in SA it is allowed to depreciate 50% / 30% / 20% over three years but there is no viable way to implement currently.

    HI team, we're grateful for your involvement and sharing through product ideas. To let you know, currently we don't have any plans for developing the ability to add custom percentages in the depreciation schedule.

    We'll continue to track the interest from community through this idea and if there are any changes surrounding this we'll share an update with you all.

  7. Reporting - to run a report that can show payment information (eg. paid date) and reference/item information.

    A report under cash basis does not show the reference that I put on the invoice reference or the item information chosen in the invoice, it is really hard to search receivable payment based on the information I need (PFA).
    A xero support specialist explained that because there is no reference on the payment, I can only search by Contact name or invoice number. But, when we do reconciliations to match the bank received with the invoice, there is nowhere to add an…

  8. Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

  9. existing threshold for Xero fixed assets is 500 - increase this to 5,000 to avoid having to use a separate app (which are clunky / expensive) to manage fixed assets

  10. Contacts report that shows contact details (name address etc) and Activity in last Financial Year.
    This would assist in cleanups of multiple contacts / old contacts etc.

  11. Xero Expenses - Currently there is no report to get information on expense claims needs approving. (by staff member, period etc) It would be useful to have a report which can be filtered rather then logging in to screen and view all. Thanks!

  12. Provide a report on who the automated invoice reminders have been sent out to, to know when the final reminder has gone out and payments not made can then be chased manually.

  13. A common situation we have with our clients' live Xero files is that the client wants the Legal/Trading name and Display Name as their business name, but we want it as the actual entity name. E.g. we would like to see A & B Smith Family Trust as the entity name in financial statements, but the client wants all their other internal reports/invoices as their trading name, say Adam's Mechanical Services.
    We often find ourselves changing the name to what we require, publishing financials and then changing it back to keep the client happy.

  14. VAT reporting in the EU includes ICP reporting for sales to other EU countries (aka pre-Brexit EC Sales reporting). Part of the reporting requirement is to supply the customers VAT number on the ICP return. The customers VAT number is supplied at the time of invoicing and is included on the invoice and in the customer contact details so is an existing field in Xero.   15. It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!

    Hi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.  

    To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.   

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.  
    • The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  16. This report is great, I love it but we need to be able to customize it more. When you try and add columns it gives a message saying that you have to delete the total column first, then you need to manually add a total column which isn't the end of the world, but you can't select the the new total column in and of the formulas, like if I wanted to add the variance column (Which I would love to) but I can't.

When preparing the client's financial statements it would be useful if we could upload the accounting partner's signature (e.g. as a JPEG or TIF) into the compilation report before the financials are published. We have to edit the signing section each year to update the date so it would be good & more efficient if we could upload the signature at the same time.

    It would then carry forward when the draft financials of the following year are prepared.

  18. I would like to visualise how draft bills and invoices affect my cashflow, something which I know is not possible at the moment. This would allow me to predict how multiple open quotes & projects could affect my financing requirements. Could this be added in future?

  19. I've accidentally created a Small Business Depreciation Pool in the Fixed Asset section of a client.

    As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently remove or delete this, and it just hangs around forever?
