  2. It would be really useful if you could manually adjust depreciation on an asset by asset basis, where depreciation has been changed outside of the Xero product. This could be where depreciation has been run within the product for management accounts, but been adjusted by another accountant outside of the product when running the year-end. The manual adjustment would be great for aligning the submitted accounts with the accounts in Xero.

  3. I really need to add notes to the Budget Manager fields to explain (as much to aid my own memory as anything) how I calculated the amounts in each line for each month. This will be helpful when the budget is interrogated at Board meetings and I can easily reference what was included in the expected income or expenditure figures for a month. Xero has this facility in other financial reports, but it is desperately needed in budget manager.

  4. It should be possible to search Fixed Assets by serial number using the existing search box.

    Otherwise the Fixed Assets registration feature is not that useful, because if you have i.e. 50 of the same asset you have to manually open all 50 assets to find out which one actually matches the SN of the asset you are disposing.

    If you can't search based on the serial number, what is even the point of entering it?

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and detail of why searching b y serial # would be of use. We understand how this'd be beneficial when you have multiple of the same asset being registered.

    At this time, as with a few parts of Xero our product team in the Fixed Assets space are focused on updating some core Fixed Assets technology to provide future capability and a consistent look and feel to what you've begun seeing in other parts of Xero like reports, and invoicing.

    We'll keep watching the support for ideas closely and share any updates with you all.

  5. Can you please add a profit and loss formula / row in the trial balance report or create a new trial balance report that includes the profit or loss for each selected period.

With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?

    Hi everyone, we wanted to provide an update of a recent change we have made where you'll now see the email address of the primary email entered in the To field is recorded in history each time an invoice is sent. You can read more about this change in my update here.

    As mentioned on that thread there are a couple of unique scenarios we are tidying up and I'll return to confirm once that is complete.

  7. The template for importing journals is setup tax inclusive, but once imported, Xero defaults to tax exclusive and a journal including tax transactions therefore doesn't balance until you go into the draft journal itself and change back to tax inclusive!

    Would be useful to be able to globally set whether imported journals are tax inclusive or exclusive. Presumably in the "Tax Defaults" section of Financial Settings.

  8. To exclude non-cash accounts in the statement of cash flows reporting.

    Purpose: Users will be able to get cash flows figures that are non-cash basis easily.

  9. It would be great if there could be an investment boost report that could be printed out to help isolate what assets have had this boost applied so the new IR10 requirement can be easily reported on. Or even if that column could be added to the existing Fixed Asset report to add in.

    IR10 requirement - Businesses must now record the total value of assets they have claimed Investment Boost for in Box 60 ‘Total value of Investment Boost asset(s) being claimed’.

  10. An updated, functional VAT reconciliation report.

    The existing VAT reconciliation report isn't particularly useful. It has to be populated manually and the figures that do populate automatically can't be drilled down into. Not helpful.

    VAT reconciliation aren't really a problem for us as we can use the Detailed Account Transactions report to identify the transactions posted directly to the VAT account i.e. transactions that have a category of VAT, whether it be a VAT payment, VAT on imports or just simply a miscoding by the client. Essentially it highlights those transactions that will affect the VAT ledger balance but won't…

  11. In the old reports, once the account was added to a subgroup, the account code would automatically be in alphabetical order. However, this is manual for the new reporting.

    A good function would be to automate this in the new reports as well (per the old reports) rather than dragging and dropping manually.

    Hi team, we appreciate the conversation however we want to be open that we don't have any short term plans for changing the export of Manual Journals in the near term.

    Not getting a lot of community support over time, this idea will soon be removed. If it something you feel very passionate about you are welcome to restart and see if there is renewed interest from the community.

  14. Xero Expenses - Currently there is no report to get information on expense claims needs approving. (by staff member, period etc) It would be useful to have a report which can be filtered rather then logging in to screen and view all. Thanks!

  15. When in account transactions (or any report where you can select a date range) have a button to move that date range one month forwards or one month back.

    For example if you have the date range selected as 01.08.2022-31.08.2022 have a backwards button that would change this automatically to 01.07.2022- 31.07.2022 or a forwards button that would change this to 01.09.2022-30.09.2022 without having to go in and manually change the date to every month.

    This would be very helpful when doing detailed reconciliations on a monthly basis so you can move between the months much quicker. I know you…

    Hi everyone, we appreciate interest in a setting within the Account transactions report that would allow you to move forward a period or back a period from what's currently set.

    In openness, this isn't something we have any plans for developing in the near term but we will continue to track the community interest of here.

    While not exactly what's being asked in this idea I did want to highlight the Common date selections that are available within the report atm with the ability to easily select 'This month' or 'Last month'.

    If there is any news of improvements for dates that'd accommodate what you're after here, we'll update you all.

  16. When you download a P&L / BS report (whether old or new templates), and include comparative periods, there should be an option to choose left to right, or right to left. If i have downloading for Jul-22, with 12 months of comparatives, i want the oldest month to be on the left, and Jul-22 to be all the way to the right. That is typically how all excel financial models are built, and the basis of these models is historical financials.

  17. It would be a massive help if you could click on the figures on the CIS suffered report to see which customer invoices make up the report figures. Clients often ask me which invoices are included and I have to manually work out where the figures come from

    Hi all, wanted to share a workaround here for those who aren't already aware.

    You can run the Account Transactions report on a cash basis and if you filter it by the CIS Labour Income or CIS Asset account, you can see the invoices which have been included in the CIS Suffered report.

    We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality on the CIS Suffered report. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

  18. Ability to add project snapshot in Xero Dashboard.

    Purpose: users’ can easily view the snapshot of Project from their Xero dashboard, rather than having to go through pages.

  19. Like Sage I would like every item to have the VAT return Date and month it was recorded on attached to it and if/when it was adjusted which return the adjustment was submitted on as well.

  20. The ability to remove the nominal accounts from a budget or show only selection of nominal accounts on a budget report. This would be useful so we can send budget owners a reports which shows only the budget lines that they are interested in and keeps actuals and forecasts in other nominal codes confidential.
