  1. When running reports, for the date range within the drop down, have 'last tax year' and 'this tax year' as options. Similar to the this and last financial year.

    Makes running reports for dividends, trivial benefits, payroll etc, much faster and better flow of information for accountants and clients.

    Should be a simple task for xero and will have a positive impact on all users.

  2. Suggested improvements to Receivable Invoice Detail - Top Customers report.

    The definition of this report is attached. It provides a list of sales invoices and credit notes by contact.

    If a customer has an overpayment on their account, the report incorrectly treats this cash payment as a sales credit note and reduces the customer's sales figure by the overpayment. Please can this report be corrected to only include sales invoices and sales credit notes? Thank you.

  3. Like Sage I would like every item to have the VAT return Date and month it was recorded on attached to it and if/when it was adjusted which return the adjustment was submitted on as well.

  4. Please update depreciation schedule to allow for custom percentages per year, for small business in SA it is allowed to depreciate 50% / 30% / 20% over three years but there is no viable way to implement currently.

    HI team, we're grateful for your involvement and sharing through product ideas. To let you know, currently we don't have any plans for developing the ability to add custom percentages in the depreciation schedule.

    We'll continue to track the interest from community through this idea and if there are any changes surrounding this we'll share an update with you all.

  5. I need the ability to be able to print an expense report to provide to a client that includes all of the supporting documentation. All of the receipts are captured via Xero Expenses app but I can't print a report that includes them. To provide that information to my client...I had to screen shot every receipt and them insert them into a Word document. This isn't a workable solution. Please add this report.

  6. Ability to add project snapshot in Xero Dashboard.

    Purpose: users’ can easily view the snapshot of Project from their Xero dashboard, rather than having to go through pages.

  7. On the Fixed Asset Register can there be a column for showing Tracking Catergories?

    We deal with clients in the Hospitality Industry and a portion of them operate multiple sites.

    It would be handy to have an option in the Fixed Asset Register so we can quickly identify which assets belong to Pub A, Pub B, Pub C etc.

    The inclusion of a filter to only show the Fixed Assets of a particular site would also be a huge benefit.

    We know that the Register can be exported to Excel which will show the Tracking Catergories but something within Xero…

  8. To be able to attach documents (images / PDF ) to published reports.
    For example Bank Statements to Bank Reconciliation reports. Signed copies of Debtors / Creditors ledgers etc

  9. Have the ability to create more than one report style (colour and logo) so when you export to a 'Styled PDF' there are choices beyond 'no styling' and your default.

    Hi team, we appreciate interest in being able to create more customised layouts when it comes to the styling of the PDF's of your reports.

    Being upfront this isn't a feature we have immediate plans around but we'd like to keep tracking the interest from community around, through this idea.

  10. DEAR XERO. CAN YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE GST AUDIT REPORTS SO THAT THEY SHOW THE ACTUAL NARRATION THAT IS ON THE BANK STATEMENT INSTEAD OF THE PAYEE NAME. WHEN RECONCILING TRANSACTIONS XERO ADDS IN A SUGGESTED PAYEE NAME WHICH OFTEN GETS ACCEPTED, OFTEN ITS INCORRECT. THIS IS THE DETAIL WHICH SHOWS ON THE GST AUDIT REPORT. IF I AM CHECKING THE REPORT I NEED TO SEE WHERE THE ACTUAL PAYMENT WENT, FROM THE BANK STATEMENT - NOT WHERE SOMEONE HAS INADVERTENTLY SAID IT WENT WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE CORRECT.   12. VAT reporting in the EU includes ICP reporting for sales to other EU countries (aka pre-Brexit EC Sales reporting). Part of the reporting requirement is to supply the customers VAT number on the ICP return. The customers VAT number is supplied at the time of invoicing and is included on the invoice and in the customer contact details so is an existing field in Xero.   13. VAT201 Report (ZA) - A SARS requirement is to have sequential invoice numbers. The invoice numbers are not displayed on the VAT201 report, only the customer reference number, if there is no reference number, then the customer invoice number is displayed. Can we please have a column for the customer invoice number or only have the customer invoice number listed.

    currently TB report shows ending balances for current year in db/cr two columns AND in single column Clubbed up remaining balances +/- in when COMPANRED to previous periods.

    I propose/request IT to make TB more classic by

    1. showing ALL remaining balances in two columns DB/CR when comparing previous years
    2. OPENING and CLOSING balances columns to be available (year selected from starting of fiscal year Jan20xx)
    3. TB report to ALLOW us to SELECT RANGE of dates (Range based TB)
    4. MOVEMENT (total Debits Total Credits) for the selected DATE and/OR RANGE should be available. CURRENTLY this is available in GL…

    Hi Yaseen, thank you for this incredibly detailed and well-thought-out suggestion for the Trial Balance report.

    We can see how much manual work you're doing, combining exports from the GL Summary Report, just to create a "classic" comparative Trial Balance for your auditors. That's exactly the kind of difficult workflow we want to help improve.

    Your proposal to enhance the report with separate debit/credit columns for comparatives, clear opening/closing balances, and a movement column for a selected date range is very clear.

    We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you. We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members.   18. When running the Transactions by box number tab of the GST F5 Return, the Invoice Number will not be shown if we have already entered a reference on the invoice.

    If there is no reference entered, Xero will then show the Invoice Number under the 'Reference' column instead. Screenshot attached.

    This makes it difficult to do checking as most users do use the reference when creating invoice but showing the reference usually does not have much significance to the accountant/bookkeeper who is doing the checks for GST submission.

    We do hope that the Invoice Number column can also be shown…

  19. Manual Journals - Ability to to set Tax Defaults in Financial Settings like you can for sales and purchases. This will enable the user to set it to Tax inclusive and every time a new journal is created it will be tax inclusive instead of no tax.

Please please can you sort your system so that when we are bulk importing our annual jobs that it is possible to import the budget also - I have asked for this for many years but to date nothing has changed. I hope that now that you have finally updated the system, after several years of empty promises, perhaps this is now a possiblity. It is far too time consuming to enter the budget manually with over 1000 jobs and would speed up our invoicing if the budget field was imported instead of having to look elsewhere for the fee.…
