  1. Could we please add the 'Due Date' option to the Aged Receivables Summary Report. I love the simplicity of this report versus the Detailed report but unlike the detailed report, there is no option to add the due date.

    Thanks for the feedback, Jodi. When you say you'd like to add the Due date I'm guessing this would be as a column to the report? One thing that would make this tricky is where you have multiple due dates for a customer with multiple invoices in the period the reports being run - what date would you expect to show here?

  2. Account Transactions Report

    It doesn't make sense that you can separately select the 'Contact' column and the 'Description' column, but that the 'Contact' details show in the 'Description' column.

    It feels like the 'Description' column in the Account Transactions report is wrongly pointing to the 'Contact' data!

    If the 'Description' detail is not available in the Account Transactions report, this column should be withdrawn from the options available for selection.

    It would be great to get this issue fixed.

    Hi team, we want to acknowledge your feedback and the needs you’ve expressed for being able to view the transaction line description in the account transactions report.

    While we appreciate not the news you’re hoping for here - we want to be honest with you all that there are no plans at this stage to change the behaviour of this report.

    We appreciate there can be some confusion of what is shown as it does differ based on the account and the line’s origin. We have added detail within our Xero Central article, but I’ve also noted below for ease of reference.

    • For accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and tax account, it shows the contact’s name.
    • For all other accounts, it shows the contact’s name and the item line description.
    • As manual journals don’t have contacts, it shows narration and description.

  3. Reinstate access to NZ Annual Report template for non-partner small business users. The NZ Annual Report template has been available to non-partner users for at least the last six years but has now been removed from the reporting templates available to non-partner users. For small businesses that prepare their own accounts the Annual Report template was very useful and time saving. Making it unavailable only has the effect of making us spend a heap of time re-building it outside of Xero or forcing us to waste money paying an accountant to do something Xero has previously enabled us to easily…

    Appreciate the use you found in the older Annual report pack, Antony. We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans in the near term for developing this same pack in the newer reports. However, right now you'll find you can use the Management report pack, where you'll be able to add reports as you need into this, alternatively you could create your own report pack from scratch(this is available from the Search in the reports centre).

    Understand not everyone feels the need to have an advisor but for others coming across that would like a bit more help with this sort of reports preparation you can find an advisor through the Xero advisor directory.

  4. The Supplier Bill Activity report is great for showing transactions for a Supplier if you operate only with one currency.
    However, for accounts with Multicurrency, it should also include optional columns for the Source Currency amounts and when showing just one currency, the balances in that currency in the list of columns.

  5. I'm setting up a budget in Budget manager. Is it possible to budget that one expense line is a percent of another - eg Superannuation is 11.5% of wages payable?

  6. Thanks for adding the new "compare tracking categories" in the new Profit & Loss Report.

    However, even with this additional development the new version of Profit & Loss Report requires you to manually add each tracking category one by one. Having the feature of "select all" reinstated as the old version did would be really helpful.

    Having limited tracking categories to 200 isn’t helpful, previously Xero was able to search across an unlimited number of tracking categories, but only report on the active ones.

    I’m sure there are many users that have more than 200 tracking categories (not always active…

  8. Xero offers users the ability to select between cash-based accounting and accrual-based accounting for financial reports. However, a major problem is that the inventory sales reports are based only on accrual-based accounting. This means the financial reports and inventory sales reports are never consistent. Please add the ability to run cash-based accounting reports for inventory sales (sales by item, etc.).

  9. Get rid of (or just hide) "Tracking Transfers" when printing PDFs of manual journals. Seeing descriptions are more important than the background tracking.

  10. Please create all excel exports from Xero in the currrent .xlsx format. Most still produce an old xls.file format (for instance Sales Tax Report) and need to be resaved to bring up to date.

  11. In the upcoming new Fixed Assets layout/section, if you sort a heading (Asset name, asset number etc.) it only remains for that particular session, if you close out, it'll default back to sorting via the Purchase Date when you re-open.

    Proposing this remembers what the user selected.

    Also if you select "Items per page" it only displays that amount of items for that session, then defaults back to 10 after re-opening.

    Please make it remember the user's chosen setting.

  13. If the VAT201 report endpoint is added to the Xero API, it could save businesses doing the reconciliation for their clients and their tax returns. The report could then be saved directly to an excel document based on specific dates and this could lead to hours of time being saved for the people doing the recon.

    Not exactly what you're after here, however in lieu of not having the ability to summarise within a group you could use the column header to order by Contact within a grouping.

    Being open, we don't have any plans for developing this capability in the near term.

  17. Where there is more than one bank account in an organization, it would be very useful to be able to filter out a particular Cat Code, separately , within each bank account. Currently one gets the entire Cat Code for the entire organization, showing all the bank accounts. Also, the column "Tax" remains blank when a bank account's reconciliations for the date selected are chosen. Please see my uploaded example of just one bank account's reconciliations, which contains every transaction, but no tax shown. It would be helpful if you could see if an attachment was uploaded - you could consider showing an Icon outside the RHS of each line., as something Every GST checker needs to do, is make sure they have the appropriate attached Invoice so they can claim the GST. In Xero, it is laborious to have to open each line and check if their is an attachment.

  19. Add a more detailed bank transaction report.
    It would be nice to generate a bank report that allows you to see the accounts booked in details. For example, if one transaction has multiple accounts, I can see what accounts where used and what amount. this would make it a lot easier to look over and control if you made some mistakes or did not included bank fees in the transaction.

  20. Most often when I extract XERO finance reports I have to strip out all of the headings and totals in order to get to the raw transaction data for further pivot analysis and data refinement. Having a raw data dump (i.e., excel or csv format) as an option to the formatted files would save considerable time for users doing pivot analysis, multi period or year comparisons, adding calculations and additional columns, preparing charts, and just trying to summarize the data in a different way.
