  1. Would be great to have an option under account transactions date range for last two months to select to review transactions for a GST period.

  2. Currently when accessing the Uncoded Statement Lines report, the last date of the prior month will appear in the To field. This is currently set as the default in Xero.

Be more helpful if the current date was entered as it is the current entries that are being queried. If everything is up to date there should few if any aged items left in the reconciliation report.

Thanks for the feedback, Richard. Can see where you're coming from and we'll get a sense of the overall interest from users on the thread here but want to be open that we don't have immediate plans for changing this.

To enable a little more swiftness when changing the date of this report you may find typing the letter 't' before clicking or tabbing through to the next field helpful - we have a few more date entry shortcuts you may like to explore, too.

  3. For the account transactions report please can you add more column options to include the contact/supplier name and entered date. This is helpful in analysing the transaction data further.

  4. Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.

For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.

Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

  5. We are in the process of organizing our client list for Audit Shield and like many other accounting firms we need to assign our clients a Turnover category. Currently Xero informs me there is no report I can run that will list the clients and their turnover for me to easily identify which category to assign to the client for audit purposes.

A report that shows the client, their income/turnover and the possibility to group and total buy the Client Group would be amazing and save so much unnecessary admin time.

  6. The old version of profit & loss will retire in 31 July. However, the departmental combination report is really helpful. As per attachment, it compares the performance of each department on one page. It is much easier to use and review the performance. Currently, no other report has the same function.

The new version of p&l also has the function to filter the p&l for each department. However, there is no combination report as the old version.

It would be really helpful to have a combined departmental report as the old version of p&l.

  7. Finalise Year End
Can we have an option (just like finalising the GST returns) where we can finalise the year, and then later on print a report with any changes made since? The lock dates are not the solution, because they can be unlocked and relocked and there is no detail of changes made.
If we could "finalise" a year when the client has signed off accounts or tax returns, then if anyone inadvertently edits or changes coding we can see that.

  8. Custom Reports
The formula feature only appears to work for columns that are located to the left of the formula column.
Each column has a name, surely the name is the important element and not the position of the column on the report.
Can the formula feature be amended so that columns from anywhere in the report can be included

  9. Restore function where the previously viewed transaction is highlighted in a darker or different colour so you know where you are on a list of transactions. It used to be there but it has now gone :(

  10. Currently you can itemise NANE income on the P&L, however when doing annual accounts this NANE is not tranferred to the balance sheet. This shows an incorrect current year earnings.

  11. Please restore the display of the closing balance on the first page of this report.
The report is used each month to check control accounts which may go to many pages.
The closing balance used to show on the first page which was extremely helpful not you have to scroll to the bottom (and you have removed the option for less transactions to show) and then we have to scroll through to the last page in order to see the balance.
Please bring back the functionality of the old report before you stop access to it

  13. It would be useful if Bank uncoded statement line report could also show outstanding payments & receipts. 9 times out of 10 an 'orange' transaction is a client error, duplicate transaction etc. Effectively this would be a complete list of bank items to be reconciled / fixed ( Ideally with the last month, quarter, financial year filter)

  14. The mandatory update to using the new Reports in Xero from 31st July 2023 means the old version of reports will cease. This includes the much used Trial Balance report as accountants like myself tend to start from there when reviewing quarterly and annual work.

I notice the following list of issues with the New Report for Trial Balance:

1 - You can bookmark the old TB report and use this bookmark across clients. Also bookmark can be changed to show a particular date too i.e. 31st March. Bookmarking the new report always takes you to same client you initially…

  15. For accountants and bookeepers who charge fees based on number of transaction lines being recorded it will be great if a simple report can indicate the number / count of transactions recorded by each Source in a given period.

This will also be helpful for new accountants and book keeper who are sourcing for clients who are using Xero to share that details so a smart quotation can be provided

Hi Manesh, have you tried the new Account transactions report? When you run this report you'll be able to see how many items are in the report, noted in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.

  16. Fixed Assets - ability to have a negative fixed asset for when an asset has devalued and the revaluation is therefore negative.

  17. The option to show bills/expense in a Report on a Cash Basis. So show paid bills only not all bills,
as per the Detailed Transaction Report if Xero. We need this option to show current expenses per project. The Detailed Transaction Report only shows this if you assign a Project through Tracking.

  18. The Net functional (for us GBP) column in the Account Transaction Report does not function correctly if we are considering the full GL.
Whether it shows a Debit or Credit as plus or minus depends on the type of account.
For example, an accrual Jnl posts Debit Expense/Credit Liabilities but both show as Positive in the Net column.

We run the full GL to conduct our analysis and we re-calculate this column every time.
Then we can confirm that the list balances as the total of the double-entries should be nil.

Is the current presentation of any use to anyone?…

  19. It would be very useful to include on the General Ledger Detailed Report the VAT Rate instead of or as well as the VAT %. Then it would be possible to identify items that should be included in box 6 of the VAT return that have been entered with a No VAT code.

  20. The report pack is a great feature to save time in downloading multiple reports at the same time. Is there the ability to export these reports to excel as separate spreadsheets rather than as multiple tabs on the same sheet? If not can this feature be added as accountants generally review these work papers separately and it saves time if we don't have to convert the multiple sheets into separate spreadsheets.
