  1. The periodical message that highlights "duplicate bills" and invariably just list recurring monthly bills from suppliers is incredibly annoying and simply wastes time.

    There should be an option to disable it. If users genuinely find it useful they could then of course utilise it, but for those of us who don't the ability to switch off would be beneficial.

    Thanks for your feedback and letting us know how we could improve the way duplicates alerts work for you here.

    While we don't have any immediate changes planned for this, our team will consider improvements to this model overtime.

    For the time being we'll continue to keep our eyes on the support for this in community, here. I'll share if there is any news.

  2. That would be great to make the Contact group field visible on the Bills to Pay screen to let us filter to certain contact groups when we are preparing a payment file.

    We use the contact groups for example to mark suppliers that are paid by Direct Debit, so this would be a useful feature to filter them out and do not pick their invoices up for a BACS payment.

    We also have another group of suppliers within the contact groups that we pay at once on the same day of each month so we would be able to easily…

  3. MY e-invoicing requires a tracking category in Xero. As we have clients which requires 2 tracking categories for their businesses, it is impossible to free up 1 tracking category for e-invoicing. Please look into this matter by considering adding a new tracking specific for e-invoicing.

    Hi team, we appreciate the appetite in this idea for being able to add more tracking categories to suit the needs of eInvioicing in Malaysia. We want to be open that while we have improvements planned for eInvoicing in Malaysia, increasing tracking categories isn't in our plans right now.

    I understand some in the conversation here may already be doing this however to highlight for others - Right now, if you use a Tracking category for this purpose you can also look to add a default tracking to a contacts record which may help with auto assigning these codes for customers you trade with frequently.

    We will continue to watch the interest through this idea closely, and share if there are any updates.

  4. Once you close a period, pulled all the accounts and happy with the financial position, you close the period to stop posting to that period. But when you receive a old supplier invoice, which has been accrued in, Xero does not allow you to post the invoice without re-opening the period date. This means, you either reverse your accrual journal to post the older invoice, changing the financial position or manully altering the invoice date, to post it into current period. Increases workload and hassle. It also means your supplier account does not mirror with their accounts with dates. Xero…

  5. New Bill Button - Please bring back the single click New Bill button. Anywhere I click on the New Bill button gives me a dropdown menu, requiring mouse movement and a second click. I would expect this to function in the same way as the new invoice button where you can click on the button to generate a new bill or you can click on the arrow down to see the dropdown menu. Bring back the single click efficiency.

    Thanks for your feedback on this change, Patricia. Out of interest is there a particular reason or workflow for why you prefer to enter your bills manually rather than via an upload?

    Appreciate, will take a little getting used to a different flow. A couple of other options for navigating to the new bill screen could also be;

    • Using the keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+N) from the bills screen
    • Using the '+' icon in the navigation header to quickly Create a new Bill from any screen
    • Using '/' and typing 'b' in the global search where you'll get the option of New bill from any screen

    While we'll get a sense of interest in this through your idea, we want to be open that there aren't any plans for changing this back.

  6. Bills are listed as 'duplicate' even tho they are monthly recurring bills so even tho the amounts are the same, the dates are different. Is there any way of these monthly bills not being listed as 'duplicate'. wastes a lot of time checking.

  7. Add the 'Upload bills' feature as a widget on the Dashboard, for convenience.
    At present you have to navigate to 'Bills to pay', then from the 'New bill' dropdown, select 'Upload bills'. It's a great time saving feature, but seems tucked away, and would be great if right from the dashboard I could just drop bills, and invoices, ready to process later.

    Hi team, pleased to share that this is a feature that will be coming with the new Xero Homepage! Once released it will be an option available from the bill drop down within the Bills to pay widget 😊. I'll round back to share as it becomes available in orgs.

  8. You have today added a great new feature - the ability to upload Accounts Payable invoices to generate the Draft transaction.

    Can I suggest that you have a look at the options available after the invoice has been approved, to then quickly navigate back to the Draft Bills.

    This is because it's likely that we upload in batches then approve, however to navigate back to Draft to pick up the next invoice takes quite a few steps!

  9. In the Bills section under- New Bill and Upload Bill you cannot currently drag and drop the file from an email into the box. You either have to email or download the file would be time saving if you could just drag and drop straight from email into the new bill box.

  10. It would be great to have a Direct Debit flag on the Bills area. Especially on the ones waiting payment.
    That would allow us to know if a bill that is waiting payment is Direct Debit and we don't need to act, just wait to reconcile.

  11. Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.

    I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.

    Appreciate your feedback on this here, everyone. This has been shared with our product team.

    They did thoroughly consider how and where this prompt was shown in the product, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to hide the Make Payments option from this screen.

  12. When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
    You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest in being able to add a planned date when entering a bill in Xero. While this isn't in our immediate plans our team are aware and keeping a close eye of the support for this idea.

    While this isn't currently possible when manually entering bills I wanted to highlight our new Quick view and edit feature - If you upload or email bills to create drafts in your organisation you'll find you can use the quick view option to easily add a planned date.

    If you don't have the edit option in your bills just yet, this feature is in the process of rolling out and should be with all customers soon. 😊

  14. You can set your company preference to tax exclusive or tax inclusive, but the Xero email bills to Xero function does not follow the company settings and always puts to tax inclusive. Can this be as per the company settings? Eg we would like it to always be tax exclusive.

  16. It would be fantastic and much more efficient if the bulk uploading of bills allowed for the bills to be entered by individual line item.
    At the moment it gives one line, without a description- with the grand total of the bill which defeats a lot of the purpose of being able to bulk upload bills, as they still need to be manually adjusted.
    Xero have already shown it has the ability to extract data from a bill but haven't taken the feature to it's full potential

  17. When sending invoices to Xero email address, the currency defaults incorrectly instead of taking the currency already set for the contact. We expected the contact’s currency to be applied automatically at the stage of creating the invoice, but this is not happening.

    Our team have picked this up and are working to enable the capability for Contact defaults to be applied when using email to bills to create a draft bill in your organisation. I'll be back to share more detail around this functionality when released 😊

  18. please remove ACTION column under bills tab - don't push your products on your customers. It is a real turn off. The check mark under the column is greyed out. Let your customers remove please. Right now it isn't possible.

  19. We use Xero on top of a project management system (Deltek PIM) which generates employee expenses and supplier invoices. When we export them to Xero they sit as draft bills which we approve. If users of PIM enter an invoice/expense for a prior period, the transaction has to be redated in Xero to prevent it changing the historic management accounts. My suggestion is that there is an option within Draft Bills that would redate draft transaction dates (before posting) to a given date, say 1st of the open period.
