    Hi community, to keep you updated of progress in this space. Our product team recently released an update so you can view more detail in history such as where an issue or due date has changed or total amounts of the invoice have changed and who these were made by. We have more improvements coming for history and notes in new invoicing and will share more as it's made available, here.

    Hi community, following on from my recent update we have a design for a new layout and we'd really like to get your feedback on this to help the team's work on improving the experience in new invoicing. They are also looking to interview a small pool of users for their research, too.

    Hi community, we've released our first update to history and notes of new invoicing, where you can now view more detail of changes such as where an issue or due date has been altered or the amount of your invoice is changed. There's more improvements for this space coming soon and I'll keep you up to date with these, here.

    Hi community, thank you for your continued engagement with us on how we can improve new invoicing for you here. 

    As we keep developing the experience any actions that include steps and clicks are front of mind for the team. Some more updates that help reduce steps since my last post;

    • You can now tab to select a highlighted contact and move through to the next field - related idea
    • Create a new repeating template from a draft invoice - related idea 

    Further to this our team are currently doing some work and have designs for a new layout that they'd like to get feedback on. We'd like to open this to our community and have created a form that you can sign up through ✍️- If you'd like to be involved please add your details and the team will be in touch.

    Hi community, we'd like to confirm that enabling phone numbers to be stored against additional people within a contact record is not something we have plans to develop at this time. This may be a function we look to explore in the long-term so we're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here. If there's any change we will let you know on on this idea.

    This is a must. I can't believe it has not been done. Just like you can have an email address for each contact name, you should have a contact number for each contact name within a Contact/company record.

    The people within a Contact/Business/Customer/Supplier each have their own email and also mobile number, so this information should be unique to each name and also searchable.

    Also, at the moment additional contacts' names and emails are not searchable. This is a must.

    Could Xero also have a prompt to make sure you don't want to save when we update Contact info but forget to go to the bottom of the page to save?

    Yes, please. This paired with the ability to see which email template and invoicing branding were used to send the invoice under the invoice's History/Audit.
    I also like to see the ability to have the option to add a different reply to email address.

    Hi Xero, Where are we at with this? I will say it again, there is no point in implementing the new note field if we can't export or import in bulk. Please provide us all with an update as to when will this be happening. Thanks Joana

    It is irresponsible of Xero not to make this field importable or exportable. We are entering valuable information data, which we can't export in bulk. No field should be added until the feature of import and export is delivered.

    At least add a note next to the field advising the user that the data entered there can not be exported.

    Yes, please. The notes need to be able to be imported and exported. We also need to have an audit trail on the notes as to who and when it was entered and deleted when applicable.
    Also must be searchable. In fact, all items on the contact page should be searchable. Thanks Joana

    Yes, this would be great. Also, the contact note needs to be formatted correctly as it ignores the spaces and line breaks, making it hard to read and understand by everyone in the team. See attached. Thanks, Joana

    This is a must. Under each Contract, we could set up the internal note and be able to select if this is to show on Invoice/Quote/PO/Bill Page, and also be able to select if this is a one-off note or a recurrent note. This note needs to be able to be reported. Thanks

    Hi Xero, Where are we at with this? We need to have a space for a hybrid note entered in the specific Contact to show on Invoices / Bills , with the feature to have an end date or show a number of times. Thanks Joana

    Yes, it is a must. Other issues with Contract groups:

    1. There is no audit trail when a contact has been included or excluded from a group.

    2. When you export contact, it does not show which group(s) it is on.

    The grouping feature is almost useless without the above.

    We've just released a recent improvement to searching contacts where you can now search a contact by any phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number saved in their contact record.

    While you won't be able to see a contacts mobile number from the screen, you'll be able to search for a contact by a mobile number that's been saved for them.

    We don't have further change planned to add more detail to this screen atm but we'll continue to track the support of the idea here.

    Thanks for your comments and emphasis on the bills side of things for the idea here. I've made sure this is shared with our team in this space.

    Bills is an area we're continuing to develop with building on beautiful and I'll be sure to let you know here if there's any consideration made to change behaviour of this through the bills add and edit flow.
