Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to hear from us on this idea and apologies for not commenting sooner. I can assure you this has not gone unnoticed and internally there have been reviews and discussions for how batch payments can be improved. We have the appetite, but as with all developments this must be weighed up and considered against many other important changes needed in product.
We want to be upfront that developing the ability to include Credit notes in Batch payments has not been planned at this stage.
As some may have seen, we do have work going on around being able to include Credit Notes as part of the reconciliation process. We understand for many on this idea the timing of including credit notes when you’re creating the batch payments is crucial, however we hope that when delivered at least being able to reconcile these more efficiently…

Hi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable.
We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills.
In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here:
- Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.
- Adjust the due date: Temporarily extending the due date can prevent accidental payment while the dispute is…

Thanks for sharing and supporting the idea here, Community. We understand the needs and desire to set a default mileage rate for Xero expenses, however want to be upfront that this is not something we have plans for in the short term.
Our product team are staying close to the feedback, and will continue to review this idea, so if there's any changes planned we'll update you of this, here.

Also for allowances that are meant to be paid as reimbursements ie overtime meal allowances. These have a set rate. we should be able to set these up the same as we can allowances.
Or to make the whole thing flow better just make allowances able to be not reportable for STP (ie payment summaries).Lisa Height supported this idea ·

Hi Tina, just thinking in lieu of this feature atm - To help get a view of bills that don't have an assigned planned date you can click the Planned date header to sort all bills by planned date and this will also group all bills with no planned date. 🙂

Agree this would be useful to review bills that are not scheduled.

Agree, this should be a feature that works alonside the planned date so that you can effectively blockout that bill so that it is not caught up in batch payments, and it shows in cash flow reports. Should also be option for bills paid by BPAY.

This would be great! To be able to differentiate contacts that are paid by Batch payment (direct deposit), Bpay, or Direct Debit.

Absoluttely agree with this one. Should be able to mark a contact as a direct debit or Bpay payee which then would flag any bills under this contact, so that when viewing Bills to Pay you do not select them by mistake for a batch payment.

Hey everyone 👋thanks so much for your ongoing feedback and commitment to supporting this idea.
We understand the need for a straightforward process to download all payslips at once, particularly for WorkCover claims or employee requests where multiple payslips are required. We’re excited to let you know that our product team is now actively working on a solution to allow bulk downloading of payslips.
In the meantime, you can use the Payroll Activity Details report to get a detailed breakdown of each payslip. It's also worth noting that employees can access and download their own payslips directly through the Xero Me portal.
We'll keep you updated on our progress right here. 🙂

This needs to be setup in Xero so that for a casual employee you can set their base rate and the casual loading as two separate items for STP reporting, but then combine them to calculate overtime, so that the correct rate is paid and super obligations are correctly reported.
I have been advised by Xero that this facility is not available, so I am going to have to manually calculate rates/loadings for my employee each pay run. Thankfully I only have 1 casual at this point but surely there are others who have multiple casuals for whom this would be a major headache.
Has anyone else come up with a work around?

Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll.
We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.
While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.
We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

Thanks for your continued engagement and valuable feedback on this long-standing idea, everyone. We've been carefully reviewing your comments and want to acknowledge the clear sentiment of frustration regarding the current limitations around managing multiple addresses for contacts, particularly for invoicing and delivery purposes, and that this is a critical feature to many of you.
We want to share an update on our progress here - We're pleased to confirm that the foundational work for handling multiple addresses has been completed within the Contacts area of Xero. This was a crucial first step. Building on this, now that all customers are on the new invoicing experience our product team has moved into the discovery phase for adding multiple addresses directly within invoicing. This means they are actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality to meet your needs effectively.
We appreciate your patience as we work through the complexities…

Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.
Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.
While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.
Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.
We do regularly review all ideas here, and your input is vital. We'll…

yes Please. Our contact data is imported from a job management system and only allows one primary contact email. But we need the ability to add different emails for accounts.
In our job management system for example the primary contact for our suppliers is for purchase orders, whereas in Xero we need to be able to email the accounts department for remittances.

Completely agree - this process just doesnt seem to make sense from the employers or the employees point of view. You also cant put units or rates against reimbursements meaning manual calculations, unclear reporting and room for error.
