  1. When looking at a customer's account in Contacts, there should be a spot in the invoices due that shows clearly if there is an unallocated overpayment, prepayment or Credit at a glance.

    There also needs to be a better report just for unallocated Prepayments, Credits and Overpayments.

    I find the Receivable Invoice Summary isn't wait I'm looking for as it doesn't fulfil the job required.

  2. Why is it that customers address details are not shown on the invoice and quotation listings. this is causing time issue problems
    These were shown in the classic view in invoices but not in quotations
    I’m my mind this is a retrograde step and needs reviewing

    Hi all, appreciate the interest around this. Being able to view a contact's address would be built separately for invoices and quotes. 

    We have an existing idea for this in new invoicing that you may like to add your vote and join across here - you'll see this is something we're actively working on.

  3. It would be helpful to edit the layout of the Overview payroll dashboard, as you can do with the normal Xero accounting dashboard.

    I can't understand why the 'pay employees' widget is at the bottom, surely running payroll is the primary function so why isn't that at the top? Not all business use the leave and timesheet function, they should be considered secondary.

  4. Please automatically revert to the "Pay Employees" page after a payrun has been filed. At the moment after a payrun is filed with the ATO we are taken back to the "Post Payrun" / "File" page. You then have to click on "Close" to be taken to the "Pay Employees" page. Why the extra step?

  5. Payroll Overview Dashboard - Can you please make this editable so that it can be customised to what details we want to see at an easy glance? Also the Calendar populates all 'holidays/public holidays' regardless of what state/country you're in. This should be customisable so that you can opt to only have your relevant holidays shown.

  6. I would like to evaluate cash flow by project. To be able to see when cash was received and payments made for each project. It will be a useful tool to manage a project and decide when to invoice and to know when we are funding projects from our own cash. At present there isn't a report which I can run to see cash flow by project. Could you please consider building one. Thank you.

  7. When posting a pay run, Xero should automatically create spend money transactions with all relevant details and links to the pay run.

    Currently, this is done manually by creating spend money transactions for each transaction and there is no link to the payslip.

    This will save a lot of time in reconciling a pay run and improve the connectivity within Xero.

    Hi community, you might've heard that we’re making changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date.

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run.

    Considering that we'll retire this feature we want to front-foot that we have no plans (as requested in this idea) to develop Global Pay Run.

  9. You can upload your logo and it appears on your invoices. Great. But here is an easy win, replace the initials on the Menu drop down with the company logo too? It would just be a nice touch.

  10. Pls can you consider providing an option to view all Debit balances as positive values and all Credit balances as negative values (in brackets) on the Chart of Accounts as well as accounts on the Dashboard?

    That way it's immediately obvious if a balance is owing TO the business or BY the business, without having to first determine if an acc is set up as an asset or a liability on the Chart of Accounts.

  11. We run a music festival of 10 concerts. Each concert is set up as a tracking category. It would be great to spread the direct and admin costs across evenly acoss all 10 concerts in a way that doesn't involve entering each invoice across 10 lines.

    Hi Shawn, to make sure we understand the idea here - would you like this field to be visible to the contact. Say when a certain branding theme is applied? Or just an internal to view when creating invoices in Xero? Thanks

  13. Once an activity statement (BAS or IAS) has been lodged via Xero, when we generate the activity statement and export to PDF or Excel can it include the lodgement confirmation details, including date and time lodged, person/user that lodged, any lodgement confirmation numbers etc.
    This information is shown in Xero, but not on the report when exported.

At the moment when one staff member accesses notifications on the main Xero dashboard and actions it i.e tax code changes the notification will not disappear for all users on the Xero subscription. It would be a good idea that this could disappear for all users once actioned to completion to ensure that work is not duplicated by two or three other staff checking that same notification.

  15. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and votes on adding birthday notifications to Australian payroll - we understand how this could help with team celebrations and managing age-based award rate compliance.

    After reviewing with our product team, this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, and we'll update the status to 'Not in Pipeline'. Right now, setting up an external calendar could help you track these important dates.

    We appreciate you all taking the time to share your feedback with us, and will continue to watch the traction this idea receives through Votes. If there is any change, we will share an update here. 

  16. If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule…

    Hey everyone, thanks for all your feedback on displaying leave balances in days on payslips. We recognise that many of you are keen to see this feature.

    Our product team has reviewed this suggestion. While we understand the value it'd bring, it isn't on our foreseeable roadmap. As a result, we're updating the status of this idea to 'Not in Pipeline'.

    We're keeping this idea open for votes to help us gauge its popularity when we next review our payroll priorities. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us.🙂

Where an employee takes unpaid leave for more than one week, it would be helpful if you could enter in the date in which the unpaid leave applies from so that the anniversary date can automatically be reset. The current set up is rather antiquated, and needs to be automated to ensure accuracy and ease of use.

    Hey team, thanks for your input. We appreciate your needs here, and have a bit of an update. For any organisations that started using Xero payroll in NZ from 5 August 2024, you'll find you can adjust the employee's sick leave entitlement date from their employee record. See more detail around this on Xero Central.


    For all other organisations, don't worry this is also in the works but just has a little more complexity to it, we'll keep you updated of when this is made available to all remaining organisations, here.

  20. It seems to calculate values (unrealised gains) for international transactions we need exchange rates.

    However after retrieving the rates from XE.com, as well as another provider, we are unable to pull the exact FX values used by Xero, which means we cannot recreate the value from Xero reports. This interferes with our ability to automatically reconcile and may cause confusion for accountants if they cross check.

    Xero support advised us that they pull live FX rates at 11pm of the timezone of the organisation, however in general it is not possible to pull these live rates historically from XE.com.

    Hi Brendan, appreciate the detail provided along with your idea here. We have a separate community forum where you can log ideas related to improvements for Xero's API. While they have a few ideas around exchange rates what you've raised doesn't appear to have been requested yet.
