Bills - Ability to set a default for 'Approve and Add Another'
When posting a bill, you must use the drop down menu to "approve and add another" because the button defaults to just "approve". If there was a way to change this it would save time when entering multiple bills at once.
10 votesThanks for sharing in community here, Lindsay. Sales invoices and Bills are developed quite separately in Xero and we have a separate idea for the same in Sales invoices across here that you may also like to support.
Atm, we don't have direct plans for this change in either area but we'll keep those interested in each idea updated if there's any news.

UK Payroll - Secure form for fraud prevention
A company we work with here in UK was recently a victim of an elaborate but simple fraud, resulting in the loss of around £5,000 from the payroll.
The scam went like this:-
- Scammer fakes an email to HR from an employee requesting the bank details for their salary be changed.
- HR fails to spot the "EXTERNAL EMAIL WARNING!" and forwards this email to the person who updates the payroll. They also didn't spot the fake email address, or double-check with the employee.
- Bank details for the employee are updated in the payroll and bank payments.
- Some weeks later, the…
3 votesThanks for your idea here, Rob. I've made sure to share this back with our Payroll product team. We appreciate your desire to prevent fraud, however there are also employee laws that implicate this process. It's something we're keen to track demand in here, but want to be upfront that there are no immediate plans for developing this.

Bank rules - Option to pause/disable Bank Rules
Would be great to have a "Disable" button for checked/selected Bank rules on the bank rule page, rather than only a "Delete" button. Sometimes staff want to turn them off but we don't want to delete them.

Bank Reconciliation - Save for later option
SAVE FOR LATER section within the Reconcilation page
We should be able to add a transaction to the top of the list to a section that doesnt scroll, another tab or click a button to change its colour to signify it is now in a special section for 'saving for later'.
Sometimes a transaction needs looking into further and when doing recon you might end up with half a dozen of these, it would be really handy to be able to group them at the top of page or turn them a different colour so that when continuing on they…2 votes -
Invoices - Keep Invoices search bar permanently open
Dear Sir/madam,
Is ther a way to have a search bar permanetly open. It disappers every time a change between invoce tabs.
Perhaps it can be one search bar on top of the tabs with a choice of permanently open or closed with option to search invoice status as per tabs.It seems more convenient than clicking search buttom prior search all the time you switch the invoice tabs.
Best regards,

Projects: Default markup in projects
There is currently no way of putting a default mark-up on supplier invoices that are being assigned to projects. Many of my clients have a set mark-up on all invoices, so the means that they are frequently entering the same information. This would be handy to have a default setting (with the options of it being overriden if needed) to stop having to do the same thing over an over.

Overpayments - Create Overpayments with Tax on for cash basis VAT
Ability for Xero to treat an overpayment with VAT on - I don't want to use a secondary debtors control account.
We have a client on the VAT cash accounting scheme and we have a number of overpayments which need to hit the debtors control account. When I run the VAT return, these amounts are not being captured for VAT purposes since there is no option to select a tax rate when using the overpayments option.
Should I treat these as prepayments, Xero will allow me to code these to a nominal account with VAT. However, the nominal code I…

Invoicing | History - Show detail of action made
With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?
24 votesHi everyone, while we still have more changes planned in this space I wanted to fill you in on the more recent changes in this space.
We have now added the ability to view the email an invoice was sent to in history, as well as adding timestamps for more insight into when an event was made.

Billable Expenses - Show Bills that have and haven't been assigned as billable expenses
To have a list that shows bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
Purpose: Users can easily identify which bills that have and haven’t been assigned to billable expenses.
150 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the importance of being able to view and understand where billable expenses have and haven't been assigned. While we have keen eyes on the idea here, with other big pieces of work on the go we want to be open that this is not in the roadmap atm.
We want you to know we're taking on board all your feedback here, and will continue to stay across this, and keep you updated of any news or progress that'll improve visibility for your needs here. -
New invoicing - Ability to add Account Code within the invoice
It would be helpful and efficient to be able to make or add an account code straight from the "account code" dropdown in the bill/invoice/journal without needing to go to chart of accounts to make a new one. Currently, users still need to go to the chart and then go back to the bill/invoice/journal but since this refreshes the page, it erases all the data already filled up in the invoice.
21 votesHi team, as mentioned in our last update here our team were looking into improvements.
You may have already noticed but we made a change since this was initially raised so when you select '+ Create new account' at the top of the dropdown list in the Account field, the Chart of Accounts screen will open in a new tab. Fro here you can create the account, and when you return to the invoice, the new account is instantly available for selection.
We are still considering future improvements of enabling account creation directly within new invoicing, so I'll update if there's any news of this to share, here.

Contacts - Option to exclude contacts from marketing notification
it would be great if there was a tick box for being to select if a contact wants to be excluded from marketing contact. if there was a tick box, it would be handy to be able to generate a report showing those who you can contact and those who have opted out, and being able to export that data to excel. i know xero is a finance platform rather then a direct crm however it just seems that for small businesses especially this would be a great tool and as xero does generate reports and exports to excel anyway…

UK Payroll - Ability to process prior year employment allowance claims through Xero payroll
At the moment this isn't an available feature, and HMRCs basic PAYE tools need to be used. It would be good to see this as an option in Xero.
119 votesHi team, we have an exciting opportunity for a few customers to come meet some of our Xero team who are working hard to improve payroll for you
You'd get a chance to tell us your honest experience with using Xero for payroll, as well as get a tour of the Xero London office!
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in and are available on Monday Sept 30, 1:45 - 3:15pm and could come into our Xero London office, share your details in our form here.
We have a limited number of spots, so sign up as soon as you can.

Contacts - Add notes/categories to contact email addresses
It would be really helpful to be able to add a note/comment next to contact email addresses. Such as "Use if sending a remittance", "Only use for purchase orders" or "Business owner - only email if urgent". These comments could sit under or beside the email address in the contact's edit section so that it doesn't crowd the side bar of information. That way we don't annoy the customer by sending some emails to the wrong account and we also don't need to keep sticky notes for such specific customer details for each of our many clients.

Bills - Automatically calculate Unit Price from a Quantity and Line Total
I have a bill to enter from a supplier with around 40 line items.
The supplier does not list unit prices on their invoice, so i do not have accurate unit prices to enter for each line item to match the line item total.
This means i have to calculate and enter each line item unit price individually in order to match each line item total.
If i could enter the line item total and qty, with xero automatically calculate/enter the unit price, this will make entry of these bills significantly quicker.4 votes
