  2. For smaller companies, it would be helpful to have the option to receive a notification by email or text when there are bank transactions to be reconciled.
    In larger companies, it's a daily routine to do the bank rec of course but not so in smaller companies so a notification would be very handy!

  3. I have multiple 2018 bills to pay generated from the US Xero Payroll feature that I can not delete nor apply credit memos to. Those were always "locked" bills. I've been trying to void or zero out these bills for years and apparently, there is no way to actually do this. I've spent hours with customer support to no avail. Please put something in place to allow users/me to accomplish this task. My AP bills are messy and my cash basis balance sheet is messy. Journal entries are not a solution as the bills will never go away using this…

    Hi team, we appreciate your input in Product Ideas and the idea shared here. Since US payroll was removed from Xero in 2019 we don't have any plans for making changes in the product for this.

    We understand it's not the ideal solution however if you have tax bills or payroll transactions that weren't marked as paid before Payroll was decommissioned, you can post manual journals to adjust the balance of the relevant accounts.

    While you can post manual journals to most accounts in Xero, there are some exceptions such as accounts payable. You'll need to use other methods to make adjustments to these account balances we have some help to guide you on this in Xero central.

  4. Xero should automatically recognise a Xero client account number in any bank transfer and allocate those funds to existing invoices in that client's account. This should either just occur automatically when a client payment matches the total on their statement, or alternatively, any payment should simply be allocated to the client's oldest invoices.

    Currently, when customers pay us for invoices that we have sent them, we search for their name in the “Match” function during the bank feed reconciliation. We then select the invoice(s) that match each payment and reconcile these.

  5. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

  6. The Xero bulk invoice import template makes provision to allow for the population of data into the available tracking categories that would correspond to same inside Xero. However, is it possible to do same with a project? Xero have since confirmed it is not possible to include project allocations when importing invoices.

    We have a high frequent need to import bulk lines of data each representing individual invoices, and we wish to use Xero projects, but need to be able to allocate the bulk upload of these invoices to the applicable projects inside Xero.

  8. Xero Payroll Journal non-cash option for the Cash Summary

    Currently all transactions from the Payroll Journal will pull through to the Cash Summary Report. The information that pulls through doesn't differentiate what has being paid from a bank account or non-cash.

    Suggestion to add a functionality in Xero Payroll and exclude certain items from the Payroll Journal from automatically showing in the Cash Summary Report.

  9. We like the discount column on Customer Invoices.
    We love being able to copy Customer Invoices to Bills.

    But what happens to the discount when we copy a customer invoice to a supplier bill? It appears in the total but it doesn't appear anywhere on the bill and it's impossible to edit or remove unless the entire discounted item is removed and added.

    I've spent many confused hours wondering why the bill doesn't add up.

    Even a flag to state that there is a hidden discount would be an improvement.

    Appreciate the detail and how this impacts your flow, Robert. 

    It'd be good to get some more understanding of the scenarios in which you're finding you often need to copy an invoice to a bill - Welcome any feedback on this to share back with the team too.

    Firstly, when an employee is submitting a leave application, they are unable to adjust the number of hours they are taking when submitting this leave when the leave period is for more than one day. This is problematic for part-time employees that may work different hours on different days of their working week.

    Also, employees used to be able to see the number of hours taken but this is no longer the case - why is this?

    Hi everyone, appreciate we haven't engaged directly in this idea sooner and reading through the detail of the original post here we do want to break this down a little to provide more clarity.

    It's correct that currently it's not possible to enter a number of hours leave if the request spans more than a day. We have another idea that's gathering support around this and we'd urge those interested in this to join.

    Similarly, we have another idea based around the permission to approve or decline leave request and provide read-only access to Payroll reports that you can support, here.

    Understanding the importance around being able to see history of events in payroll, you may have noticed we've rolled out payroll history to the employee record-level and most recently you can now see a history of user activity in the Organisation, Calendars, Pay Items, Superannuation & STP Settings…

  11. A great new function in xero would be to copy several invoices to another client without merging them together. So that direct debits can be taken of varying amounts each month.

  13. The contact details / help required for Xero NOT our contact details should be on the first page. It should not be up to us the client to have to read through various lists of things. We should have the ability to immediately send an e-mail or in some circumstances be able to speak with a human being straight away.
    A lot of times a two minute phone call will sort something out that takes several e-mails back and forth and this means a lot of wasted time.

  14. Add a second email address for an employee, for their payslips to be sent too - i.e. if payslips need to be sent to an employment agency each pay run, their email address can be added and payslips automatically sent here each pay run, rather than manually downloading payslips to send outside of Xero.

  19. Employee loans and advances should have the ability to add the gross amount starting date deduction amount this should then be reduced by each payment so the amount still owe can be seen at any time.

  20. Find and recode should be able to search a date range by who has recently edited transactions within that date range (I.e User 1 edited 3 transactions between 1/7/22 - 30/6/23 on the following dates).

    I work on a file where several people attend to different parts of the bookkeeping process, so being able to see who has edited what transactions within a certain date range would be hugely helpful.
