  1. I need to run a report in Xero that sees the variance in purchaser cost price on a month by month basis for a product group not based on sales/bills
    Otherwise the only way is by an Excel spreadsheet

  2. Line items on a remittance. When making a batch payment the remittance should show a breakdown on the invoices paid with refernces, not just the total amount paid.

  3. Update inventory when it is posted as an expense to a project as this makes more sense as clients use the project reports to calculate WIP and it is annoying to have to constantly check which inventory figures have been applied and deduct this from the inventory. It also means when projects are billed this actually reduced the stock figure as this only happens when you invoice the project for the tasks and expenses whereas currently invoicing using the project amount does not update the inventory.

  5. There should be the option to overwrite or set 'default' descriptions when using the Xero app to upload receipts. When it says 'What was it for', a list of suggestions appears. At present it only shows the following options, none of which are applicable for a lot of businesses. Even a small adjustment to show 'Purchases' or 'Materials' would be useful

  6. Bulk delete/mark inactive pay items. We use deputy Awards integration and every time an award is updated we have to delete/inactivate so many pay items.

  8. I need to be able to track all my project expenses, including labor costs, for each project. All the labor data is already in Gusto, my payroll provider. Currently I have to create a report in Gusto then manually enter the data in Xero. I also have to manually maintain two lists of the same projects: one list in Xero, and one list in Gusto. I would like the Projects in Xero to synchronize (two way) with the Projects in Gusto. I would also like to be able to pull (or synch) the project labor cost from Gusto to Xero.

We would like to be able to hide certain bank accounts on the dashboard so our employees who reconcile our bank accounts don't also see our payroll bank account (same with loan accounts, savings accounts etc) where the wages get paid from. I.e. the ability to edit the dashboard and 'hide' a bank account for certain employees/ Xero users. Currently as I understand, editing the dashboard is unique to the logged in user.

    Hi Heiko, even if you were to hide the bank account from the dashboard, if the user has permissions that enable them to access bank accounts they would be able to view this information somewhere else. 

    It sounds like you'd be interested in the idea across here asking for the ability to restrict access to bank accounts. Would this be correct? 

    If so, I'll merge to keep this feedback altogether. 

  10. Set up leave so that it automatically tops up at the start of the year with a set amount.
    I have an employee that has an arrangement of xhours per years to be used as they wish. At the start of each year this reverts back to the agreed hours. Any hours not taken during the previous year is cleared.

  11. When adding new Pay Items in Australia, Reportable as W1 should be ticked as a ticked as the default as the vast majority of Pay Items in Australia are Reportable under W1.

    Every time the award changes and we import pay items from Deputy, the new items have Reportable as W1 turned off and we have to manually change them.

    Changing the Xero default may or may not fix that problem but it should be the default nonetheless.

  12. UK payroll - Have the ability to fully process 2 workplace pension schemes. We have 2 contribution schedules, one basic minimum level, one at higher levels. Sage can process both of these and send the correct contribution amounts to NEST. XERO is unable to do this and requires manual intervention in XERO and at NEST. This is crazy, surely I am not the only one with more than one set of contribution schedules?????

When I assign supplier invoices to a project then charge the client those amounts and get paid, at the moment to then go and pay those supplier invoices after being payed by the client I have to note down all the invoice numbers then go into bills to pay and find all the invoices to create a batch payment. it would be helpful to be able to pay the bills attached to the invoice through the project tab or even be able to select an invoice in the bills tab and have it show all the bills attached to that…

  14. It's very hard to tell multiple organizations apart, particularly if they have the same initials. Currently, Xero simply displays the organizations' initials. It also assigns a random color to each organization. It would help distinguish these greatly if the organization settings allowed me to upload an avatar for each organization. Xero's Demo Company already illustrates how this feature would look. Also, it would help edit the color Xero assigns so that the color could match each organization's branding.

  15. It would be good if ''xero bills'' would send a failed upload notification message back to the email that it was sent from if the upload had failed. This would mean that you would know what upload had failed and issue that caused it to fail.

  16. email with 1-click link to list of unpaid/open invoices...

    When invoices are sent from MYOB, the email includes a link to a webpage which individually lists all unpaid/open invoices. This a great feature especially for accountants when they get a statement and find they are missing an invoice (this link would also be a great option to add this link to statements!!).

    Is there a particular reason you'd specifically not want the user to login to Xero to view this information, Ben? 

    Currently as you may be aware, there's an option to include a link so that your customer can view outstanding invoices they have with you - See more here 


  17. When reviewing a VAT return on the transactions by tax rate tab - there is no way to view the detail if the payment was through an invoice or bill even though you are able to see the detail if it is entered as a spend money or receive money transaction.

    Being able to create bills and add attachments is extremely convenient, however, it is not when you are unable to see the detail you have provided when reviewing the VAT return.

  18. In the Director's Declaration, it would be great if the report could recognise if there is a single Director or multiple, and then update the wording accordingly. (eg "The Directors have determined" or "The Director has determined".)
