  2. Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
    It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.

  5. Very very occasionally, sending an e-invoice will fail. When this happens, currently the only way to find out is to follow up with the client about their unpaid invoice, find out they never received it, go into the individual invoice and look at the history. An alert would be very useful.

  6. Xero should not allow employees to submit Expenses for locked periods. It must have a Posting Date & Document Date to facilitate this. The document date should always be what's on the invoice/receipt

  7. Allocate spent money to supplier invoice raised at a later date -We pay our electricity monthly by direct debit - we may have 6-9 payments that have been reconcilled as spent money as the next supplier invoice has not been received. It appears you have to remove & redo the reconcilliation rather than having a facility to allocate that spent money to the invoice. This is incredibly time consuming and should be a facility available.

  8. We really need to be able to set a limit, be it based on number of instances or a dollar amount. Having to do it maunally at present is very problematic when you have a large payroll.

    Appreciate noting that the Receivable Invoice Summary isn't what you're after. However can you give a bit of detail of what's missing or showing differently in this report to what you'd like to see, Shannon? 

    If it is the time saving of having to format the report each time, once you have it set up you can save the report as Customer and rename it so you can easily access and run the report filtered by only these source items any time.

  12. Xero should add "Add Note" to Expense Claim just like we have it on Bills to pay. This would be helpful for requesters to provide additional information or make comment on their payment requests. Thank you.

  15. Hi, It would be helpful to have following information on activity statement : Total Invoiced amount ( as on Invoice report) and all payment activities ( payment date and amount). Now we have to send two different documents for customers -Invoice report and the activity statement. Would be nice to have all required Information on one statement. Thank you!

    Hi Ruta, apologies for the delayed response. I can see what you mean and appreciate the example you've provided (Thanks!). 

    From the looks, although not an exact statement format, the Receivable Invoice Summary report would show the details you're in need of here. 

    Within this report you can include Net/Gross columns of the invoiced amounts and also have Payments/Credits shown in a separate column. 

    You'll also be able to filter the report by Contact so you could export for a single Customer if that helps too. 

  16. We have multiple people responsible for approving invoices depending on the project's PM - would it be possible to assign specific approvers for each invoice?

  17. Title says it all, the current process requires a customer to full sign up with Xero (and be almost/forced to PAY) just to see an invoice history.

    This should be accessible via a rotating link where the current "View all invoices" link is in the upper right -- or extremely simple login system that just takes an email and password.

    Hi Adam, understand that there can be confusion for a customer if it is their first time making use of the link and not already having a Xero account. 

    The need for the user to create a Xero login to access and view their outstanding invoices with you if for yours and their security in the information that can be viewed. 

    Appreciate you may like a simpler sign up process for them and I have slightly adjusted the title of your idea here for this.   It's not something we have intentions of developing at this time, but we will get a sense of the wider interest from your idea here. 

  18. Ability to add client logos in contacts. Use for thumbnails there and in Projects. Would demonstrate partnership with them when used in communications and emails.

  19. It would be nice if expenses could learn and assign a specific account automatically to expenses from a regular supplier.

    The process could be:
    1) I take a photo of a receipt
    2) The analyse feature reads the receipt and fills in the date, supplier and amount

    THE NEW BIT:
    3) Expeses realises this is a supplier I've analysed a receipt from recently and codes it to the account I coded it to last time

  20. Having a Tax Reporting widget available where a Xero Partner is the subscriber rather than the file being set up on the website. This would allow accountants and bookkeepers who set up and share files with clients the ability to highlight 'important' reports we want our clients to look at on the dashboard and is also a useful shortcut for us as well
