  1. The mobile app’s new transaction notifications are Bank dependent. Why? You have to write code for every individual bank in the world just so the app will notify a user that a new transaction needs to be reconciled? Rewrite the code so this works automatically for everyone. It’s crazy the way you have it now.

  2. Search Job name when searching for invoices
    The search function should be consistent across all search. If you can search for job name or part of job name in Search, you should be able to search for job name in Business/Invoices. This brings consistency to the search function.

  3. My client uses personal funds for large part of expenses. I have to enter them manually (using Spend Money) and after each entry the screen defaults back to today's date.
    Would be useful if Xero defaults to the last entered transaction date, when using Spend Money, instead to today's date.

  5. Is it possible to introduce a spending cap in the Xero based on the agreed/ set budget for each expense line to prevent incurring costs above the agreed/ authorised budget?

    If the functionality is in place, raising a purchase order that will take the cost over the authorise budget should not be possible. Better still, if this functionality can be introduced, can it also be implemented at the tracking category level.

    Hi Brice, to confirm this isn't something that exists at present. 

    Right now, there's the ability to set a credit Limit at a customer level but not on a supplier side of things. We have an idea for this here, but appreciate what you're asking based on the budget comparative is a little different and I'll leave this idea separate so we can track he interest in each.

  6. Would like to be able to have adjustable columns on an invoice that I can change what they fill with. Right now an Invoice only has Item as a field. I would like to be able to change from Item to Account. That way I can have one payer and list several clients in the invoice without typing them all in. For instance, if a field was labeled Client Account # or something then I could set up the list with my clients or pull them up from contacts, and just select the clients account number, it would prefill a…

    Hi Laura, hen you say you'd have one payer - would this be a customer or someone internal in your organisation? 

    It still sounds like untracked inventory could work here - for example each 'client' would be set up as an  untracked item, you could select clients using the Item column of the invoice and this would auto populate pre saved data such as the account number which could be referenced in the description column, and monthly service for the account.

    Hi Brett, separate actions in them self but it is possible to Approve multiple invoices at once from the Draft tab. When actioned you'll see a message from which you can 'View invoices' and multi select to Email. 

    Being open this isn't something we have plans for right now - Is there a common scenario, or specific reason you'd like these actions as one? It'd be good detail to share back with the team. 

  8. Every now and again we have an issue in a client account with someone's User Role being altered without notification.
    I can't figure out if the client is in there making changes without really knowing what they are doing, or if Xero is having a weird glitch.
    (the latter seems unlikely)
    It would be nice if we could pin point who was doing it so we could explain the hassle they are creating!

    Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in? 

    Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

  12. You can enter a group for an employee on the employment information but this function cannot be used on the reports.

    If the information of which employee is in which group, then surely its not a huge leap to add this function to the reports. Using the gross to net report, you could select a group rather than an individual, saving a lot of time.

  13. When I reconcile a transaction in my bank account I can enter a "Why". I.e. Gas for Youth Hostel. So when I have multiple transactions to the same customer, under the same Chart of Account I can differentiate them.

    However, this data entry can not be pulled into a report. This is really hampering my ability to differentiate my transactions.

    Hi Stephen, is there a specific report you've been running to try include this data? 

    When creating a transaction during bank rec, the 'why' is saved as the description of the transaction. You should be able to  run the Account Transactions report to view this detail in the Account you've coded payment too. Let me know how you get on. 🙂

  14. Allow us to select 'reoccurring payment' in a repeating invoice for Gocardless in Xero.

    When Xero generates a repeating invoice that is setup for auto collection from Gocardless, it is classed as a new payment each time and sends the Gocardless customer an email everytime.

    In Gocardless when subscriptions were done through its own systems, they were classed as reoccurring payments and therefore as per BACS rules, the customer does not need to be informed everytime payment is taken.

  15. There is presently a feature that enables copying a bill and transferring its details to a new bill. However, I have observed that this functionality omits the "Permit Number," necessitating manual duplication. It would be advantageous if this copying function could accurately duplicate the specified bill in its entirety, without any omissions.

  16. When making a batch payment, it's always a pain to have to exit to get the missing bank details.

    I'd love there to be a link to the bill to check the bank details on the document. Adding that extra layer of protection as well for those who want to make sure the bills bank details actually match back to the payments.

    It sounds like the suppliers payment details maybe held somewhere on the original bill that's been entered, Laura - Is this correct? 

    Is this detail that would commonly change for a supplier you work with? Generally when creating a batch this information is pulled from the contacts record.

  18. Would like to add add decimals (up to 4) in the bank rule feature for the tax rates (otherwise I need to manually change all the amount of my reconciliations which is time consuming).

    For instance at the moment we can input 102.15% but not 102.1451% which is what I would like to have.

  19. Present fx translation to any currency of choice on the face of a sales invoice, instead of being limited to the base currency only. As required by various local VAT authorities, the sale value & VAT must be shown in local currency - which can differ to the invoice currency.

    Example: a business invoices in GBP or USD, but must charge UAE VAT and therefore present fx translation to AED on the face of their sales invoices. This is not currently possible using the standard or advanced templates.
