  1. Currently when editing a batch payment we can only tab across to the next cell, it would be good if we can use the arrow keys to move around and edit instead of using your mouse to get to the cell below, or the previous cell etc.

    We appreciate how this could be more intuitive. To confirm how this currently works - Within the body of a batch payment you can use Tab to navigate forward through cells, pressing Enter will enable you to edit the cell and then pressing Enter again will confirm the cells contents(highlighted).

    When the cell is highlighted you'll be able to use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate up, down and across within the body of your batch payment.

  2. Global change of description on repeating invoices - some folk have same text but include current month before sending - currently required to edit each invoice to achieve this

    Hi team, we don't have any plans for developing the ability to bulk update the description of your repeating invoices right now.

    To help your work flow here, you could include placeholders so the description contains the current month. Dynamic date placeholders can be added to the Description and Reference fields of repeating invoices and bills. The placeholders will then insert the specified detail into the invoices and bills when they are created.

  3. At the moment, you can only delete or mark as billed purchase order numbers. However, you cannot see the purchase orders after deleting them. It would be useful to have an archived section in purchase orders.

    We have found that we need to go back an see old purchase orders that did not get billed, whether it is to compare it to the purchase we actually made to see why we didn't go through with the original purchase order.

  5. The functionality in Xero that shows a file has been deleted in the History and Notes section of a transaction.

    Currently if a file is added to a transaction and then deleted, under the history and notes section it still shows there was file uploaded, but doesn't have an audit trail that it was subsequently deleted.
    is this something that can be added as part of the history and notes to be more accurate

  6. REQUESTING LEAVE
    Firstly, when an employee is submitting a leave application, they are unable to adjust the number of hours they are taking when submitting this leave when the leave period is for more than one day. This is problematic for part-time employees that may work different hours on different days of their working week.

    Also, employees used to be able to see the number of hours taken but this is no longer the case - why is this?

    Hi everyone, appreciate we haven't engaged directly in this idea sooner and reading through the detail of the original post here we do want to break this down a little to provide more clarity.

    It's correct that currently it's not possible to enter a number of hours leave if the request spans more than a day. We have another idea that's gathering support around this and we'd urge those interested in this to join.

    Similarly, we have another idea based around the permission to approve or decline leave request and provide read-only access to Payroll reports that you can support, here.

    Understanding the importance around being able to see history of events in payroll, you may have noticed we've rolled out payroll history to the employee record-level and most recently you can now see a history of user activity in the Organisation, Calendars, Pay Items, Superannuation & STP Settings…

  7. Ability to assign appointments from outlook into projects as time entries. Narrative of work completed could be put in the appointment and then assigned to the project. The colour of the appointment in outlook would change colour to show its been assigned.

  9. Show the total amount of Domestic Reverse Charge VAT on an invoice, to make it clear to the customer what is due by them.

    It is not necessary to show the VAT amount on each line, when it is the same for the whole invoice.
    While Xero may be compliant with HMRC, it is not right for businesses who are being repeatedly asked for this information to be shown on invoices. It would be a simple fix for Xero as the functionality is already in place.

    This is on a discussion thread with plenty of users requesting the same thing.

  10. It would be a huge benefit to be able to recall an email (with invoice attached) sent in error to the wrong client.

    An invoice has now gone to the wrong client and my manager will now have to have an embarrassing conversation with the competitor, due to my mistake.

  12. Currently, the stock is not updated until the bill is entered. Many times the deliveries can be part-deliveries or billed on multiple bills. It is impossible to part bill and update the stock for the delivered items
    Also, we can get billed before any order is even processed by the supplier. To match the bill with the purchase order, it needs to be entered through the purchase order, which updates the stock before it has even arrived in store.
    We need the ability to update the stock record in Xero at the time of delivery, not on billing date.

  15. Enable the Payable Invoice Detail report to total the invoices for each contact. At present the report totals the GST component of each contact's invoices, which I find not at all useful. It would be possible to export the report to Excel, and calculate the totals in that format, but this would be time-consuming.

    I use the payable invoice detail report to get approvals for payment. It would be useful for the person doing the approving to see how much each contact's invoices add up to.

    Hi team, returning to the idea here I wanted to check if this is still an issue? With the Payable Invoice Details report you'll find you can 'Group by' Contact and there are options to include Balance, Gross Tax and Net columns within the report so you can get a full break down and totals for each. 

  16. For permanent employees, all XERO business customers should be able to calculate their future leave balances. This will allow a business owner to know if they can approve the leave or not, or what conversation to have with a team member.

    I hope this idea is backed and implemented.

  17. As an Xero customer, I would like to be able to add Instagram as a contact field within organisation details, so that I can easily direct customers to my Instagram page.

  18. when doing allocation between an overpayment and a bill, if the invoice is dated within a locked period you are unable to do the allocation, it would be good if you could just do the allocation without having to open the period.

  20. When adding new Pay Items in Australia, Reportable as W1 should be ticked as a ticked as the default as the vast majority of Pay Items in Australia are Reportable under W1.

    Every time the award changes and we import pay items from Deputy, the new items have Reportable as W1 turned off and we have to manually change them.

    Changing the Xero default may or may not fix that problem but it should be the default nonetheless.
