  1. When invoicing, there is a drop down arrow/menu next to the "Print PDF" button, where you can select 'Invoice' or 'Packing Slip'.

    We need this feature to be available in the quote for printing a picking slip / delivery docket.

    Is it possible to add this functionality?

    Thanks for raising and supporting the idea here, community. Being open this isn't something we're looking to develop into Quotes for the time being. However, if needed you could have two branding themes, with a different Quote template: one for the quote itself, and one for a packing slip.

    You could then edit the quote, and switch the branding theme to the one you want to send out.

  3. we will have an overseas employee (from NZ) joining our australian company. In payroll I can put under Taxes the status Foreign Resident but not his address in NZ. I find this very restrictive to only be able to choose a State in Aus and no overseas addresses. Anybody an idea how to circumnavigate this without having to find some additional app to connect with Xero as was suggested by Xero Support.

  5. Since the new quote format was launched, we are no longer to insert a blank line in our quotes at the beginning of a new item. Previously, this allowed us to space out the quote a little so it didnt look too jumbled and allowed us to space the quote neatly over two pages instead of just having a line of a quote on the second page if it didnt all quite fit on the first. Please put it back to how it was and allow us to insert blank lines at the beggining of an item.

    Hi all, upon revisiting here we'll re-open this idea. 


    As you may have found - While possible to add a new line and drag & drop this to where you'd like it to sit in a quote. Once saved, blank lines that have no data in any field will disappear and lines with detail will condense. 

    Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding and we appreciate those who've feedback on the idea here too. 


    There aren't any direct plans for changing this behaviour for now. We have a keen eye on the interest here so please add your support through votes and importance. 


    For the time being, if you'd like to add a blank line in your quote you'll need to enter a character in the description field of the line - This could just be a hyphen or full stop 

  6. Add a date to the end of the payslip PDF file name. eg payslip_20220519 That way easy to save and file each slip without having to rename

  7. Once expenses are approved it would be fantastic to have an option to "send" this to their next approved payslip rather than having to manually add this to the payslip.

    Seems madness this isn't implemented already - what is the point in doing everything in Xero if you need to faff around making adjustments for details that are already in the system.

    Employee's submit expenses - so you know who needs reimbursed already.

  8. Payment Schedule Date - add from other screens

    Make it easier to schedule payment dates. I love the ability to schedule payment dates but it is only available from one screen. It would be great to be able to add a schedule payment date from within the purchase. That would mean you could approve and schedule from the one screen.

  9. Payroll doesn’t calculate pension until after you submit the payroll/RTI, so you don’t know what the actual net payments are until submitted. Try explaining to a client that what they signed off isn’t what they actual pay.

  10. Create batch files for spend money transactions so if a payment needs to be made to say the ATO can create a batch file and upload to bank without needing an invoice.

  11. When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

  12. Ability to import leave requests using CSV files.

    Purpose: To save users time from having to manually create a request to the employee, and approve it. This will also help if they’re using a third party that allows them to export CSV.

  13. In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.

  14. When invoicing, i usually do in large batches. The save and close function should be second, with save and add another first. Or have the option to edit so it comes first for me?

    Hi community, we've recently released shortcuts in new invoicing that cut down the number of mouse clicks and help you perform actions on your invoice with the use of your keyboard. 

    We've added small prompts to highlight these shortcut combinations in product, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can view them all on Xero Central

    While save options were explored as part of this work, the only keyboard shortcut right now is Save & close (Alt-Shift-C).

    Another option you may want to test for yourself is the '/i' keyboard shortcut. As new invoicing has auto save when you're ready to add another invoice, you could simply type '/i' on your screen. This will open the global search in the blue header with options to go to All invoice, or Create new invoice which you could either click or use Tab to select.

  15. As the automatic journal for payroll is not able to be viewed before posting to accounts, we should have the option to turn off automatic journals. Currently, we have to post, then go back and do another journal to split out ER NI & Pension for different departments. This system is so unflexible.

  16. Would it be possible to create a contact who is a "sub contact" of an existing contact. For example we perform work for a strata management company. Every invoice is made out to [name of strata company] but the contact details, email address and physical address are all the same - that of the management company. I would love to create [strata management company] as the main contact with all the strata "divisions" they manage below them without having to create a new contact for every single new building. What are my chances?

    Appreciate where you're coming from with this idea, Kirsty. 

    Right now you could create a Contact Group, and have each related contact assigned to that contact group. Get what you're saying with the efficiency when having most of the same details - for now perhaps importing via csv would help create these in less time. 

    We also have an idea for the ability to copy a contact, and another for contact group statements that you might like to join and follow. 

    We'll start to get a feel of the interest for this type of feature here, and I'll let you know if there's any change planned. 

  17. I would appreciate the Search engine to be reverted back to how it was. The new "upgraded" search is close to useless. When I search for clients, I expect all relevant clients to come up. I don't want to type in the whole client name, just to get their details to show up. Previously I could type in a few letters and the search would come up with an amazing list of relevance....
    1. Contact listed first
    2. Invoices listed next
    3. Bills listed thereafter
    4. then lastly bank transactions

  18. Repeating Invoice - Bulk update next invoice date

    I am an accountant with clients who make use of repeating invoices. The current problem is that in certain months they want to run their invoices on different dates due to public holidays or festive season. In these situations they have to manually go and update the "next invoice date" in each invoice.

    I want to suggest a bulk action for this as it would end up saving hours for the businesses.

  19. I would like to be able to flag or log a Xero issue, without having to raise a case.
    Sometimes my colleagues and I are having the same issue at the same time with Xero. Eg. Dashboard not displaying correctly, unable to change organisation from the dropdown menu. But when we go to https://status.xero.com/ everything is showing as "Operational".

    An option of being able to click onto a region; setting; choose the issue would be great. That means that Xero could be alerted quickly if there is a wider issue, or if it's an isolated issue.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to help Xero identify and raise issues asap. While we may consider changes to this overtime, to be upfront there are no immediate plans for changing the current method to raise these sort of issues with us. There are a number of troubleshooting steps our specialists will work through with a customer to rule out external factors that could be impacting your experience with Xero, and they'll get the right detail to investigate, triage and escalate if the cause does appear to stem from within the product.

    One area we know customers can commonly run into trouble with is bank feeds, and we do have work going on atm to enable customers to send us an alert if they are experiencing trouble with a bank accounts feed from within their organisation. You can stay up to date with progress for this, on this idea.

  20. It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

    In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.
