  1. Xero recommends creating a new, duplicate employee record when a terminated employee returns to the organisation. This can also happen when an employee switches from permanent to casual, as they need to be terminated to pay out annual leave.

    Due to HR add-ons that make the issue of setting up a new, duplicate employee in Xero extremely complicated and almost unworkable, I would really like to see an additional workflow in Xero to handle this.   2. We're currently using xero projects a lot and something that happens fairly regularly is staff posting time entries into finalised periods. I.e. we have run reports and finalised an accounting period and then there have been later changes in those periods in xero projects. It would be good to be able to lock periods in xero projects as we do with financial informtation in xero.

New Cash Summary report vs Old: In the new report when you customise the new report to adopt the "Working Capital with other cash movements" format & report Gross, i.e. with VAT figures, the "Other Cash Movements" in the new version are STILL reported Ex VAT. IN the equivalent Old version, they were termed as "Non operating Movements" and would correctly apper as Gross, i.e. VAT included figures.   5. If you receive a lot of payments on the same day (20th of the months) would be useful to select the paid invoices all at once and send the receipt to all clients at the same time rather than have to open every single transaction and send the receipts individually

    Alternatively could be a feature on invoices were you choose to send receipt automatically upon payment received.

  6. Please can we have the option in Regular earnings to have pay items that can be setup with day units and not hours so taht it shows on payslip as number of days x rate.

  7. It would be useful to be able to assign a bill to a specific person for approval within the system - without this the function is pretty useless.

    This seems like a simple thing if you have this as an option.

  8. Discounts - the ability for the discounts in sales to be allocated to an expense account rather than distorting sales figures. At the moment each line item has the cost of the item then applies say 10% discount equals net which then is allocated to the sales account. I would like the option to allocate discounts to an expense called discounts given so that we can track and show the correct sales figures. By distorting sales figures you could be affecting calculations like WET. other programs allows you to setup discounts given & taken and freight even.

  9. Set the default time method for timesheets.

    Allow the payroll admin to set the default method for all employees to capture the timesheet details. EG set all employees to use only the time in and time out method not the hours method.

  10. Ability to change a bank account to a different account type. e.g. A bank account that should be an equity type was added as a bank. To resolve this requires adding a new equity account type, transfer the bank account balance and archiving the old account. These could be avoided if we are able to change the account type in the COA.

  13. Would be great if you could link cirectly to the live stock levels inside Shopify so if I generate an invoice and sale from Xero then the stock level reduces and adjust accordingly. There does not seem to be functionality that does this currently.

  15. In the Business Snapshot all of the comparatives are to previous year. In a startup this isn't meaningful as prior year balances are nil, but month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter comparatives would be super useful. In established businesses also, monthly and quarterly comparatives can be very useful.

  17. Exchange Rate - Allow more than 6 decimal places.

    For conversions from smaller currencies (e.g. 1 KRW = 0.00071 USD), users need the ability to place more than 6 decimal places in order to get the exact currency conversion for the transaction. QuickBooks allows this so I don't see why Xero can't implement it as well.

    Xero Central suggested that I make adjustment entries in my Realised Currency Gains account and I find it ridiculous to have to do it than just being allowed to input exact numbers in my original transactions.

  18. When I run a supplier bill activity report it would be HELPFUL if the description column actually contained the description of the invoices, or at least the start of it. For example, say a supplier is for office rent then I put in the description what period or month the rent is for. Then, if I run a supplier activity report I would expect the ******** description column to show me the helpful description I entered.   19. A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.

    Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.

    If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.

    The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.

    Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?

    Can we have it directed to a folder?

  20. I need to be able to set a number of pays for recurring payroll deductions.
    For example; my employee buys a laptop under salary sacrifice and wants to pay it back over a specified number of pay cycles.
    At the moment I need to track this manually to ensure that the deduction is removed at the right time. It would be great if the software could do this for me.
