  1. Would really appreciate the ability to export expense claims for an individual employee for a defined period which shows which are billable to a client and those that are not.

    Currently the Expense Claim Detail report only shows aged (unpaid) expenses and the Account Transactions Report shows all expenses whether paid, unpaid or submitted, but doesn't differentiate those that are general expenses from those that can be billed to Clients (Customers).

    Hard to believe we are the first small business to request this functionality.

  2. Currently to reimburse employees for expenses you have to add them manually to each pay run for each employee, it would make sense for expenses that have been added using the expenses function to auto add to payroll each month to reduce work and to allow staff to be reimbursed quicker. this would also make the expenses function more worthwhile for the cost.

    This would reduce stress for staff putting on employees as expenses that have been approved will automatically be added and marked as paid.

  3. Xero Project feature idea

    • drill down transaction from Xero Project reporting
    • Report template Xero Project layout can not be saved to custom report template
    • assign project to Payroll
    • Inactive jobs, still showing in the list although its in the different section, in my opinion the inactive project should not show up at all, should make the same like employee list where there is a dongle to show inactive Projects.

    Appreciate you have a few ideas for Projects here. We try to keep 1 idea per thread so others understand what they are voting for and we can clearly share the information back with our Product teams.

  4. On Drafts there would be say 10 lines which is actually all for the same asset.

    Say I am building a product store. Using 10 different suppliers. Store, Erection, Floor, Building inside etc. I want to map all those together and register as 1 asset when done. This way the auditors see the whole store as one asset. Not 10 lines that I must show them. For instance "Thats the floor in that storage building"

  5. Ability to filter draft invoices by Contact Groups.
    We have a large number of customers who are moving toward shared accounting services (ie: centralised payment of our invoices). It would be great to be able to filter draft invoices by the Contact Group, or at the very least be able to see the contact group with the customer name on the draft invoice screen

  6. Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
    When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
    It would be great help.

  7. I would like to be able to forward receipts I have received via email which are NOT attachments, but are inline / html receipts, and have Xero read them, like Expensify can.

    I waste so much time receiving emailed receipts (BPME for example) which I then have to save as a PDF and forward / upload.

  9. More granular level for user access rights

    I have seen lots of ideas around this same topic but worded slightly differently.

    Essentially, the access rights are far too high level causing users to have access to tasks and rights to delete, approve when they shouldn't

    Appreciate your looking through the forums and existing ideas, Tracy. 

    Although it might seem quite specific it does help to have detail of the specific permission sets and what is missing in the existing roles shared for each idea, and get a sense of the users that are interested in these differing permissions.  

    As you can likely imagine, with the number of features and different roles & responsibilities staff may have across businesses a matrices of options for every single permissions across every feature in Xero would be quite complex and cumbersome when  trying to assign what a user can or can't do in your organisation. 

    While we don't have direct plans for this level of incremental control, our product teams are definitely interested to consider the makeup of permissions within a given area or feature of Xero. I'd urge you and others here to add your support to…

  10. Accepted Quote Report

    Great to see that we can now look at a report for accepted quotes but the report is not filterable by the accepted date - please can this be added to the date search for quote reports within Quotes through Receivable Invoice Details and Summary reports.
    At the moment the report isn't right as you can only search by due date and created date which is no good - the accepted date needs to be a searchable date or the quote filtered by accepted quotes is useless if you ant to see what quotes have been accepted…

  11. I generate invoices from the Xero app. Quick and easy. I would like to generate a receipt from my iPhone app as well after a customer has paid. At present you can only do this via the website.

  14. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more. 

  15. Would it be possible to create a bill from within the files tab, into a new tab. When you click create bill from within the file tab, it allows you to create the bill but once you click save, it just shows you the created bill. You then have to go back to the files tab and re-find the next file you want to create as a bill. Would be much easier if you could right click and create the bill within a new tab, so that the file tab stays open at all times.

SO annoying that when we want to send an invoice using a different email address we have to always go into "Settings > Email Settings" to change the email address and then go back into it to change back once done. Why cannot we select the "reply to" email address from a drop down just like the "email template"?

  18. Currently when you want to add a contact to a group and you have a entire list of different groups, you can not search for the group you are looking for, you have to scroll through your list. It is very frustrating not being able to search for the group.
