  1. Allocation to Projects

    Can a feature please be added where a recurring bill is allocated to a project on set up? At present this can only be done manually after the recurring transaction has been created. We have over 100 recurring bills per month where we'll have to do this manually month-on-month in perpetuity.

  2. Often companies email invoices but they aren't a PDF - just an email.
    So you have to print the email as a PDF - then send to Xero Bills.
    It would be good if you could just send through the email invoice (no PDF) to Xero Bills and it was processed without being a PDF.

    Hi team, apologies for the mismatch in my last update and appreciate the feedback we received on this. 

    While our new bills upload feature might be handy for some customers in automating their bills process, reviewing the idea here I can totally understand how this does not solve for where you receive an invoice within the body of an email.

    We'll open this idea back up, and I want to be transparent that this isn't something we have direct plans for developing atm, however we'll continue to keep eyes on the support here and share if there is any progress surrounding this, here. Thanks

  3. Bills to Pay UI - Visual Hierarchy

    the new update of the 'bills to pay' screen is great and has some very useful new QOL features but i think the current layout is quite difficult to read and should contain a similar visual hierarchy that the old style had.

    i have found myself focusing intently and trying to figure out where i am up to which could easily be fixed by a graphic designer adjusting fonts, weighting and alignment.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing your feedback in the idea here. Since first raised, we have made some improvement to the Bills to pay page including the ability to quick view and edit bills on the fly from the list, a duplicates review feature and the ability to directly upload to create draft bills in your organisation.

    Taking some of the more recent development into play it'd be good to hear if there are still particular aspects of this page that you feel could be improved.

  4. The Discuss Tab should have a history trail showing the user and date that a comment was submitted.

    Also registered comments should not be editable or removed once submitted. The ideal situation would be if the tab took on the functionality of a chat system also allowing to tag a user of that particular company in a discussion prompting a notification to the user.

    Once a transaction is processed, the notes should be attached to the transaction in the history and notes section for future reference.

I attended the 2023 Q2 QPU and I like that for placeholders you can add a number in the square brackets to modify the month placeholder (this was in repeating journals - is it the same in other repeating features, like Invoices/Bills?). I also wonder if you can modify the year placeholder in the same way.

    But I'd like also to be able to post repeating journals with a placeholder that uses a number-format for month (eg, 04 instead of April). Alternatively or additionally, it would be nice to be able to abbreviate the month to just the first 3…

  6. Appologies in advance for my frustration.

    Are Xero considering providing a Gender Equity report in the future?
    I raised a case for our HR Dept last year and the answer from Xero was no.

    If any community member has any short cuts on gathering this info, please respond to this post.

    I am wasting so many hours trying to gather the required data from your available reports.

    In April I exported Employee contact details to export & sort.

Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

    Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions?

    Hi community, appreciate the interest for being able to match based on the invoice number, even if the amount of the statement line and transaction in Xero differ. While this isn't something we have plans for at this stage, it'll be good to get a sense of the interest for this here. 

    Just to confirm for everyone coming across - The way suggested matches work currently is based on the amounts of the statement line and transaction being the same and also looking at most of the fields of a statement line and comparing with transactions entered to show a preferred match.

  10. Would be great if we can get a report /summary of total days an employee work per year. This will be extremely useful with calculating long service hours per employee at year end.

  11. Just looked at the new Aged Payable report > Aged Payables Detail - it doesn't show credit notes which been allocated to invoices. This is very confusing as we can't reconcile against the statement. Please review the report and add in credit notes, even if they have been allocated to the Invoices, or advise which report I need to use when reconciling the account.

  12. There is currently no option to print a packing slip from repeating invoices options.
    We need to be able to print a packing slip at the start of a hire before any invoice has been raised.

  14. I want to be able to group/merge multiple expenses being on-billed into one line on an invoice, even if they're not a tracked expense.

    For example, if a contracting company has billed for a fortnight of the contractor's work, but has separated that into two lines, each dealing with one week, on their bill, then the draft that is created when they e-invoice me will have two lines. When I assign these lines to a project and approve the bill, each line shows up as a separate expense to be on-billed. If I am on-billing the full fortnight, I would…

  15. Ability to edit expense code and tracking code after approval and payment.
    This is to make up for there being no data validation capability for coding.
    The workaround is to run the Account Transactions report and run 'query tests' in Excel.
    Once the errors are found, you go back and edit the transactions for missing tracking codes, etc.
    With Expenses there is no ability to subsequently edit the transaction, though whihc measn you need to create journals which is inefficient and hard to audit.

  16. I need the option to auto reverse repeating journals to be available. This is neccessary for accruals.
    Auto reverse is available on regular journals but not repeating.

  18. Customer lifetime value report.

    I would like to see date fields that you complete when you onboard and archive a new customer. Then it would be easy to work out the average lifetime value of your customers (CLV) using the “income and expenses by contact” or other report.

  19. Manual Journal - Copy details from line above- this is a tool in Sage so please could you consider it? :) it's a nifty action & allows a one click solution to repeat account & tracking categories and is especially useful for large entries such as payroll journals.

  20. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.
