Contacts - Show information on one page
The edit contact format has recently been changed and I now have to click through multiple tabs to edit and view contact info. This is much more time consuming. I would like to be able to edit and view all contact info on one page.
Hi all, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to Delivered! ✅
You'll now find a single page for editing contact details, with the added benefit of using the tab selections on the left panel to go directly to your chosen section on the contacts add/edit page.
Again, thank you for all your comments here - we know this has been a highly anticipated feature for community. Your feedback helps us to continue to shape the future of contacts at Xero.

Scrolling is easier than clicking page to page to page...like the bank feeds - who minds scrolling? Limiting content / lines or number of items on a page only takes more time to click to the next page and click back again and click forward and click back...wasted time...

Agree with Mick, once again Xero "listens" to feedback, comes up with some waffle on their reasons for change, then do absolutely nothing about it. I had no issues scrolling.....

Thank you for the reply but the main reason for this feed was that it now takes longer to fill in contact details as we have to visit 3 sections to input details rather than the original 1 page

Yes, please reinstate contact information to one page! Xero's system analysts need to ensure improvements are logical to ensure a much more efficient & flexible experience for all users, and stop implementing clunky changes that breaks the functionality of Xero. Perhaps they could start by actually listening to end users, not just Xero Partners, with regards to any changes and throughly test these before release!

The only thing missing on this subject is any comment from Xero.
I don't think they care what we all think.
The issue is programmers writing what they think is great yet, they will never use the finished product.

It was much easier when it was on the one page. Now having to click thru multiple tabs is a time waster. Would rather it put back the way it was.

Here's a quote from one of my staff:
"How are you managing with Xero adding/editing contact record?
I am going to pull out what hair I have left out of my head right now!" -

Laine Ratsep I agree about copying contacts, we quite often have the same agent representing various clients which we differentiate by a slight change to the contact name and account number. It was time consuming enough before setting up the same agent again from scratch, but doubly so now!
This won't get picked up by Xero here as it's a different issue so I've started a new idea called "Ability to copy contacts". Please put in a critical vote for this if it's an issue for you too. -

1 page... PLEASE!

Another vote to change it back to one page! Really inconvenient this way: I invariably enter multiple email contacts, I always enter a postal address, I always set sales defaults. Now it takes 4-6 screens to set up one contact.
Why was this change made, and we still don't have the ability to copy a contact and make edits to the copy - *that* would save a heap of work.

The update only allows me to add a new contact if the name of the company and their email address is completely different from the contact name! This is not an upgrade

Totally agree please don't change things that are working. A Golden rule - Don't' fix it if it ain't broken

Efficiency is the key. One page to edit one contact not 2 or 3 or 4 pages drop down menus.
You web designers are IDIOT'S!! Looks pretty though. Such a waste of time!!!!
How do you not know this?

Bring back the legacy design. Having everything on one page reduces the 'workload' of clicking between tabs and pages.

This new layout is not user friendly at all. Change it back! Vote submitted :)

You now have to click save to find out if the account code you are assigning has been used, and then start again if it has. Before it would come up as taken and you could try again. Not happy with the change as the admin lady on site and her colleagues keep bending my ear about it. I agree with them, it wasn't broken before......
