Contacts - Show information on one page
The edit contact format has recently been changed and I now have to click through multiple tabs to edit and view contact info. This is much more time consuming. I would like to be able to edit and view all contact info on one page.
Hi all, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to Delivered! ✅
You'll now find a single page for editing contact details, with the added benefit of using the tab selections on the left panel to go directly to your chosen section on the contacts add/edit page.
Again, thank you for all your comments here - we know this has been a highly anticipated feature for community. Your feedback helps us to continue to shape the future of contacts at Xero.

Probably been mentioned before (don't have time to read all the comments) There is plenty of room in the top area of the contacts information, I would love it to show any additional contact phone numbers and any notes that are entered via the Contact information so at a glance I can see any relevant notes for that contact thank you

This is not an idea - this is reverting back to how it was.
There are still so many limitations so I am struggling to see how the “advanced users” are finding multiple tabs beneficial i.e. still can’t use BPAY
That sounds like bull shark to me. -

I've actually got used to the different tabs, and quite like the new customer profile layout - however I'd still really love it if we could add multiple contacts to include not only their respective email address but also PHONE numbers - important when dealing with multiple project managers within a large organisation.

I am really glad to see after saying you were closing my thread in April, you are finally deciding to take your users feedback seriously and doing something about this. Thanks to everyone for their comments and feedback on this. Maybe we can get some of the other changes users have been asking for for over a decade!

the contacts view is complete dog ****. Change it.

this is possibly the worst UI design you could have rolled out. Did you not test this? It is totally unusable and devalues your product. Someone needs the sack.

Nice response & thank you for the constructive reference to useful help areas . I’m pleased to hear that our comments have been heard & that the thread is being closed as the contact use is obviously such an important part of our Xero use, it seems the ongoing feedback about how utterly clumsy/ time consuming etc the new format is, has garnered so much negative feedback, that my inbox is now full each day of more comments. Clearly, while Xero feels that have the monopoly, not much will be done to improve our experience.

Why has days overdue disappeared from the contact? This is pretty basic info from any credit control perspective.

Ffs, change it back. Its totally useless the way it is now.

The new contacts screen is awful. It doesn't show you how many days overdue a bill is, and once a bill has been paid it no longer shows you the amount. It changes to 0.00.
How are you supposed to check statements to your xero account when you can't see amounts or days overdue easily.
The old screen was much better. Please change it back!

This is the worse change so far!
I've become accustomed to the giant text on the bills screen and the general ugliness of the updates. But not seeing the what's been paid table or the notes on the front screen and I know it was controversial but I liked the activity section. seeing the timeline was very helpful. -

LOL - stifling discussion... slippery slope.

Not only did you not listen... you've closed this thread.... AND you've made it even worse! How is that possible?? LOL.
What an absolute $h!t$h0w.Take away visibility, add more clicks.... eff around and leave more wasted screen space AND not even allow for basic function like individual contacts having their own direct line or mobile number for AN ENTIRE COMPANY........
Outlook contacts could do this in the 90s............ are all of your IT developers nearing retirement age? far out. what an absolute joke.

Hi @Graham, Thank you for the email, I just tried to send this one out, but I guess she deleted her email because it says the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive mail. They really don't wanna hear us complain bout their "brilliant ideas" ......
Dear Sukhinder,
The saying goes, "Innovate or face failure," but it's worth noting that innovation done incorrectly can also result in negative outcomes.
This began with the August 2022 update, aimed at enhancing user experience. However, as we find ourselves in August 2023, it's clear that some users are still frustrated with these changes, evident from the ongoing discussions in the forum.
What we like:
- Adding direct links in the new statements so users can easily check their invoices in real time has been a good change. What is not so bad:
- The new reports had potential, but we needed time to adjust them to our liking. It took a while, but it turned out to be beneficial. What we hate:
New contact page change
New contact edit page change
The graph for a quick recent payment check is gone.
Shows all invoices, not just open ones.
Contact details moved to the top, and less info is visible and need to click on the tab to see the rest.
Same for financial details, need to click instead of scroll.
Prefer scrolling for efficiency, and dislike excessive clicking, this is crucial when having slow internet.
Excessive white space everywhere.
What we suggest:
I tried searching for it, but couldn't locate a tutorial about using the customer portal. I needed this guide so I could share it with my customers, helping them understand how to create accounts and review their statements and invoices on their own.Amidst these frustrations, I find myself questioning the logic of raising prices while also generating customer dissatisfaction with the product.
We genuinely hope our concerns will be taken into account. Nobody desires the inconvenience of migrating to a different program for their administration needs. However, if these frustrations persist and user feedback goes unheard, you might leave us with no choice but to consider such a move.

+1 for bringing back the old, useable layout asap!

Just for information - I wrote to the new CEO ( sukhinder.cassidy at xero dot com) - my e-mail was answered by a member of her "team" who said they would be dealing with my complaint, just before they screwed it up and put it in the bin. Nothing has been done (about multiple delivery addresses) despite the hundreds of users asking for it for over a year. I suspect that the same will happen to this request.
Xero just seem to pay lip service to their customers, then do whatever suits them and their bottom line. -
Will Broome commented
Agree with all the sentiments... except the first line of the Xero employee : "Hi everyone, we appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared "
I have shared my discontent over a wide number of issues - not least that I am having to pay more for less - the CEO is :
sukhinder.cassidy at xero dot com
Just to save you some time for finding it. There is no other solution as no one listens or really cares - so maybe some more direct contact and explanantion might let the Senior execs know what "a shower of .......... " the product is and becomes with every new "improvement".

The new Contacts layout is horrible horrible horrible - rolled out today with no warning, no option to keep the "classic" old layout? Who's idea was that, who are these people voting to get things done this way? No consideration whatsoever to users, Xero, bad, bad.
The O/S invoices/bills at the top and the right-hand side panel summary was a really useful at a glance feature - clean and elegant, now info got split into different tabs, why?? Yes, we've been saying for a while to change the way comments/notes were shown all together with the invoices/bills and that it would be useful to move those to a different section/tab, or have them at the top/bottom and not mixed up together with invoices/bill in chronological order within the "Activity" section, but this?
Also, I always liked the grey/light blue background colour scheme, now it's high contrast black on white and it's very harsh on the eyes, there's too much white space/padding, it's a nightmare.
I say Xero has gone backwards big time.
Not a happy user.

And another vote to change back to old version, our screen changed this morning, we received no notification from Xero about this.
Suppliers - When Bill is paid the value becomes Zero, Why? If looking to trace a bill you now cannot trace via the value. Who do they ask about these things, definitely not people you use the system daily. You need to see transaction history, with values, when looking at an account.

Another vote for changing back. The new layout is awful. But are we just an inconvenience to Xero as you appear to want to FORCE us given you've no plans to change... read that as "listen"
