  1. it is very difficult to manually add a " pay template " every time when a new employee is added, so is there any shortcut for that? because when we have more joining every day then it is very difficult to manually add every time ordinary rate and overtime rate and other things again and again in a pay template. please update XERo as soon as possible.

  2. I have one employee that is paid the same amount every week, it would be great if I could set the pay run to post and file itself every week until further notice. I have an automatic bank payment set up so this would make it so easy - and more importantly it doesn't rely on me remembering.

    Hi community, while we appreciate you sharing this idea with us here, and understand the interest for being able to automate pay runs, we want to confirm this is not in our plans at present.

  3. From the moment you post a payrun, and this can be 1 day or 10 days before payment is made, employees have access to their payslips. To pull an ABA from the payrun, you need to post the payrun first. I process payroll for over 30 business's. Part of that process, as I am sure it is for any agent or employee bookkeeper, you generally need to get an approval (even the filing for STP makes you verify that an authorised person has checked it).   4. We need sick leave to be recorded in days to line up with current NZ payroll legislation. 10 days sick leave. The current settings in hours only work for people who work the same hours on the same days. Anyone with variable hours or different hours on different days this does not work and manual accrual needs to be kept outside of payroll. Then leave balances need to be manually adjusted which is a lot of work. This has been an issue for many many years and would be good to get fixed.

    Hey team, as some may have seen we've been doing lots of work in the NZ Payroll space. For those just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) sick leave will now be recorded in days, and can set up the Sick leave entitlement date.

    We appreciate many in the idea here have been using Xero for a while and we want to confirm this is something we're working on for our existing customers as well, however there are more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. We'll round back to confirm with more detail and to let you know when this is being released for everyone. Thanks

  5. We must be give an option or some kind of template to upload hours in Xero if there are hourly employees and number is huge. Doing manually is quite a challenge and time wastage.
    So this option must be available even if not using time sheet.

  7. What I need is for it to look like the Payroll Employee Summary, but with additional columns for Annual & Personal leave taken and the value of that leave.

  8. When an employee is off sick you should be able to open and input the start date and then save, to input the end date when the employee returns to work.

  9. Please can we have the option to opt an employee out before running a pay run? It is a bit annoying to have to then refund deductions the following month and employees question it as they think they have opted out!

  10. We need to know how much to provide for on the balance sheet for annual leave and long service leave each month and track these for our financial statements. All the information is available via Xero payroll (leave balances and pay rates for each employee as well as leave accrued and leave taken) but in order to account for this correctly we are expected to export reports and do the calculations ourselves. And we need to maintain external files to reconcile this to each month.

  12. On payslips and in reports, I think there should be dates next to the following items so it isn't confusing for the employee and when checking reports. It makes it more transparent too.

    Time In Lieu
    Annual Leave
    Sick Leave

  13. Please allow timesheet approval as a sub option to payroll admin in the user set up, similar to "invoice only" option in the business and accounting setup. We have employees on labour hire contracts that need to submit their hours to the client supervisor for approval so that we can get paid. We want to be able to add the client rep without giving them full access to payroll. The only current work around is to add them as as a "Contractor - Non Employee" in Xero Payroll

  14. For permanent employees, all XERO business customers should be able to calculate their future leave balances. This will allow a business owner to know if they can approve the leave or not, or what conversation to have with a team member.

    I hope this idea is backed and implemented.

    Hi community, thanks for all your discussion and votes on this idea. We can see the appetite in being able to project future leave balances in AU Payroll. We understand that you're looking for an easier way to see an employee's accrued leave for a future date, which would make planning for things like company shutdowns and approving leave requests simpler.

    Our product team has taken a look at this suggestion, however building this functionality isn't on our foreseeable roadmap. For that reason, we'll be changing the status of this idea to ‘Not in Pipeline’. The idea will remain open for votes, so we can continue to gauge interest when we next review our priorities for payroll.

    As some have shared - exporting and combining reports outside of Xero is one way to get the information you need, although we understand its not the solution you'd like here.

  15. I think it would be really helpful to put a search bar for employees in a pay run. It's really time consuming to scroll down list of employees especially if you have lots of them. It's under employee dropdown. Thanks!

  16. In the employee card under pay template be able to organise the earnings rates in the order we prefer. For example have employees working overtime, saturday sunday and monday to friday. Being able to put the earnings in alpahbetical; order not how it is saved by Xero.

  17. Xero Me app no longer allows entry of allowances. Previously employees have had ability to enter their hours and any allowances attached on their templates but apparently since the change to STP2 they have stopped this ability which is crazy. Seems to be no point in using Xerome.

    Seeing we have just spent hours ensuring our clients have mapped the allowances correctly to STP2 categories not sure why this has been removed. Pls vote to have returned.

  19. It would be really helpful if there was a report that showed the actual amount of hours worked per month per individual and as a total. Our company has busy seasons, as well as quiet seasons and having a report like this would help us in planning our staffing situation.

  20. The gross to net report currently doesn't include reimbursed expenses, and possibly other things we haven't found yet so the net pay doesn't agree to the payslips! Please can we have a gross to net report that agrees to payslips? Failing that even a report that shows reimbursed expenses per employee would be better than nothing.
