  1. This would be particularly helpful for employees who take excessive leave, instead of having to go in to the employee's Leave tab to view, or print screening to provide a report for reviewing.

    Thanks for your feedback and interest in the idea here. We appreciate the desire for being able to enable employees to make these changes themselves.

    While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.

    If there are any changes or progress for developing this we'll be sure to come back and update you on this, here.

  3. Why can't the payroll be separate to Xero? I can't allocate Employee Groups because I've already got two tracking categories in use!

  4. In the Employee section, under Employment Tab:
    Have a section/box for Award - maybe a drop down menu to choose from? There are only 122 Awards and that doesn't change.
    (as well as classification box - don't remove that)

  5. just like overtime wages, it's important to separate unused annual leave paid from regular annual leave paid because this will enable accountant to quickly cal-check whether super guarantee has been calculated/set up correctly. it's impractical or inefficient if we have to check all the pay item settings.

  6. When going to Payroll -> Pay Employees -> (inside your payrun) -> (Inside an employee's pay)
    There is an option to drop down the list of employees included in the pay-run to change between. Could this be made much bigger please.

    Same goes for teh Drop-Down in the Employee Setting Pay-Template tab

  7. My small business client came up the idea that when we download the aba file for our payroll, it would be great to have the option to pay total PAYGW & super liabilities into a nominated bank account.
    This sets aside the money ready for the BAS'es, IAS'es and super.

  8. On payslips and in reports, I think there should be dates next to the following items so it isn't confusing for the employee and when checking reports. It makes it more transparent too.

    Time In Lieu
    Annual Leave
    Sick Leave
    Compassionate Leave
    RDO

  9. Please give us the option to split the base rate and casual loading items WHILE working with a timesheet. At the moment this has be manually done in every pay run if we want to show the loading separately.

  10. I hope Xero will soon introduce the feature for ABN exemption for non-employee contractors, as there are cases that they are ABN exempt. I'm sharing the ATO link with you for your reference, https://www.ato.gov.au/forms-and-instructions/statement-by-supplier-not-quoting-an-abn?

  11. Payroll/Wages Payable Reconciliation
    It is quiet difficult in Xero to find out wages payable error done because there is no system of matching wages payment with the payroll journal at the transaction allocation stage.
    e.g. as we get the suggestions to allocate a payment received against an invoice, it should be similar with the wages.
    If there is any over/under payment it will be detected at the transaction allocation stage as there won't be any matching payroll transaction existing. This feature is there in MYOB. This is the only reason where I find MYOB better than Xero.…

  12. Please add an opening balance for the Working Holiday Maker tax rate

    When a Working Holiday Maker (WHM) reaches the earning threshold of $45000 they must be taxed 32.5% (instead of 15% prior to $45K per financial year). When an employee is set up in Xero as a WHM this tax calculation is automatic as along as the full $45K was earned with the current employer. If the employee has earned $45K prior to starting with a new employer Xero will calculate the WHM tax as 15% instead of 32.5% and there is no option to set an opening…

  13. It would be helpful when using XeroMe if staff could advise of earned Time in Lieu to be accrued for a timesheet. Currently they can only record the hours but not whether additional hours should be paid out or accrued

    Thanks for your continued support of this idea, community. Pleased to let you know that we’ve released further updates to time tracking in Payroll for Australian users.

    You’ll now be able to add notes to each new earnings line, providing a bit of extra context for the timesheet approver.

  14. Ability to record an annual shutdown leave.

    Purpose: Payroll admin can easily record annual shutdown leave when they need to make a calculation around separating employee’s anniversary dates and start dates.

  15. Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?

    At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

Requirement to have flexibility in how Long Service Leave is recorded for Victoria for casual employees who have taken multiple periods of parental leave and unpaid leave so small business is able to record number of weeks and entitlement due date and be able to accrue the entitlement of .80 weeks per year of service (and have that show on their pay). At the moment we are unable to show the employee the entitlement in weeks - only hours. The hours paid per week will be variable depending on when they take the leave so having this flexibility in Xero…

  17. UK Payroll- Access to a communal time off calendar for all employees.
    As a smaller business we try to have one employee off at a time where possible- it would be hugely useful if they could access a shared leave calendar in the same place as they request leave & submit timesheets from. This would pull data from my admin overview calendar and stop me having to create external calendar in iOS and another in android which leads to missing data etc and wasted holiday requests.   18. when printing or saving the employee summary report x group the name of the group doesn't appear. If doing multiple groups, this makes it difficult to know which group is which when referring back or from printed reports.

  19. With the advent of Open Banking, it would be great if when you submit the payroll, it could also utilise OB to physically make the payment to the employee also. This would help automate the whole payroll process.

  20. Given that we are now can add employees into different tracking/groups on Xero.
    It works well when we post a pay run and it puts all transactions in Wages expenses, super expenses, PAYG W and super payable, but not Wages Payable. Seems odd that it doesn't.
