  1. It would be great if in Xero Blue you could see from the contact profile that they have a credit instead of money owed $0.00.

It would also be helpful if when creating and invoice or before sending the invoice if a pop up appeared advising the client has credit and asking if you would like to use it.

Also having the ability to transfer credit between groups/entities would be helpful. At the moment if someone has a credit note against one entity we need to reverse the credit note and reprocess it under the entity you want to credit.

Thanks for your feedback here. Currently when you create a credit note/overpayment the balance is reflected in the contacts record. This shows as a negative value in the list of the customer's invoices.

With new invoicing, if you create an invoice for a contact that has outstanding credit, you'll be asked if you'd like to allocate this credit once the invoice has been approved. You'll also see the available credit and option to apply each time you view an approved invoice.

While it's not possible to allocate credit from one contact to another you could edit an existing credit note to change the contact without having to recreate it from scratch.

  2. Ability to reject a Draft Supplier Invoice and send a email to the supplier with why their Invoice was rejected.

To often, I receive invoices from Suppliers of whom have forgotten Purchase Order details or have missing information.

There is obviously the option to Approve an Invoice, nut nothing to reject.
I would like a function where I can Reject an Supplier Invoice and respond to the Supplier with why Invoice was rejected and this information is stored against the supplier and shown as a note on the Supplier History or.

Would also be handy if there was icon or…

  4. Offer option to lock last and previous year's data to prevent unintentional corruption of "good data".
Users would then have to slow down and take a great deal of care if changes to last and previous year's accounts is actually required.

Thanks for the responses to my last update, team. Based on this we'll shift this idea to delivered.

As previously shared - You can set lock dates that'll stop changes being made to transactions during a past period. Just as an alternative, if you'd like to keep a record of reports at a point in time you could also look to Publish reports in Xero. 🙂

  5. When raising client invoices, it would be good to be able to submit the invoice to a Manager for approval.
When processing supplier bills, it would be good to be able to submit the bill to a Manager for approval of payment of that expense.
In both cases, this would mean that approval details of "who" and "when" would be noted in the History of the invoice/bill without needing to attach a file showing the approval or tracking this outside of the system.
Ideally keeping the Approval role completely separate to the ability to edit the invoice/bill as well as…

  6. In Xero a receivable invoice status is shown as paid whether it is actually paid or whether a credit note is applied to the invoice.
Can a new status be added to show when an invoice a credit note is applied, for example "Credited".
This will help identify actual payments received vs credit notes issued

  7. Hi Team,

We would like to highlight that in India, it is a regulatory requirement to maintain an edit log (Audit Trail) based on the Triple ‘W’ Approach – When, Who, and What.

For example, if a journal entry is edited, the system should capture and display:

Previous values (amount, GL code, date, narration, etc.)

Since this is a regulatory requirement, could you please confirm if an enhancement can be made to comply with this, and share an estimated timeline?

    Looking forward to your confirmation.

  8. Currently fixed asset reports have to be run separately and there is no ability to add these into an existing report like the notes to the financial statements. It is reasonably standard to include a table in the notes that summarises cost, depreciation charged, accumulated depreciation and net book value for both the current year and the year prior.

Requesting the functionality to pull this data from Xero into a report, rather than either having to run two separate fixed assets reports (one for each year) or a manual table where figures are typed in and manually added.

    Also requesting…

  9. Why has this been removed? I genuinely can't understand any good reason for doing so from a Xero user perspective. Please reinstate as soon as possible! It is such a helpful, immediate visual tool to be able to qet a quick insight into a client, or suppliers, payment history and patterns of behaviour. It highlights immediately where there may be gaps and is something I (and others in our business) make use of on a daily basis. Additionally, as someone who benefits from visual learning, to completely take this option away is hugely disappointing. I'm now faced with a page…

Hi all, if you hadn’t already spotted, the Money in/out graph is back 🎉

It shows the cash in and out over last 12 months, and you can still mouse over the graph to show the actual amounts. The bars now have a minimum size for visibility! In the old graph depending on the difference in cash amounts the smaller bar would sometimes not be visible.

With this updated version you can switch to a table view that was added for our accessibility users/ those who prefer seeing a table rather than a graph. You can also choose to show or hide the graph entirely, just use the overflow menu above - see screenshot for illustration.

Thanks again for all your feedback on this change, we’re glad to be able to bring back an improved version!

  10. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

  12. I'd like the ability to remove the "Forwarded Bill" note from the Reference field on the Bills tabs.

Purpose: to make the data on these tabs easier to view. All of our bills are input via the Email Bill to Xero functionality - this note therefore appears on every single bill and is not only redundant but makes the actual references / invoice numbers harder to read.

  13. On the contacts page you can see the bills and the value, it will either appear with the value in the paid column or the due column unless it has been allocated against a credit. Any allocated credit notes and the invoices they have been allocated to appear as £0.00 in the paid and due column. Now as we have to allocate the credits in order to include them in a bulk payment (a completely pointless time consuming exercise still not addressed by XERO! but lets not get side tracked by another basic function missing) the fact the values are…

  14. Projects- Add date project is started in xero and the name of who started it. This will help us to be able to determine how many days a job took from order date to completion.
We will also be able to tell who started the project if we need further information about it. Something like the 'History and Notes' in the Invoices, where there is a record of who generated the 'Project' and on what date and who makes changes along the way would be perfect. We currently have a project that we are not able to see…

  15. We need a way to flag a transaction, either a sales, bill or account transaction that can then be pulled into a report for review before finalising BAS's etc.

Whether that be a spend money that you are awaiting a Tax Invoice for, a bill that is in dispute, or a sales that need follow up.

Could it be in the Bank Reconciliation menu where you can then pull the "discuss" notes into a report and the query notes could be there?

  16. Display the Credit Note/s applied to an invoice and payments made by date on a PDF document. Why is it that we can view these in the system but we cannot see this when printing invoices.
It would be so helpful to have this for clients to view exactly what they have paid and exactly what credit notes have been applied to an invoice.

If it is already on the systems for us to see, is it that hard to reflect this on the printed /emailed versions of invoices?

    please address this Xero!

what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea

Aah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.

In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.

We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  20. In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.
