AU Payroll - Ability to calculate Super accruals for U18s working less than 30hrs/wk
Currently, Xero lists a super accrual for employees under the age of 18 when they earn over $450/mth. However, it doesn't take into account how many hours that employee works per week. Under 18s are not eligible to be paid super unless they work over 30 hours per week (even if they earn over $450/mth), but Xero doesn't recognise this. Unfortunately this shows up a s liability for the employer, even though a liability doesn't exist. 194 votesHey everyone! Thanks for your ongoing feedback on this. We appreciate you taking the time to highlight how important it is to get superannuation calculations exactly right, especially with the specific rules around employees under 18.
Our product team has reviewed this idea and agrees this needs to be addressed. The current workaround of manually adjusting each pay run isn't the seamless experience we want to provide, especially for businesses with multiple under-18 employees.
As a result, we're moving this idea to 'Accepted'. While we can't give a specific timeframe for a solution right now, this status means it's on our radar and something we'd like to develop in the future.

AU Payroll - Ability to pay staff with joint bank account in same pay run
Please enable the ability to pay staff with a joint bank account in same pay run. We currently have to pay two couples with a joint bank account into separate accounts each run. Xero does not permit two payments into the same bank account in one pay run. I have confirmed with our bank that this is not an error on their end. Xero support have informed me that this is not a function that Xero currently offers.

Roster Board for Employee Shift Management.
A scheduling /roster to show employee shifts. That then can be reconciled against the timesheets submitted. The ability to also send the weekly/fortnighly schedule roster to each employee - or have them be able to view it on the Xero Me app. Have a clock in clock out feature on the Xero Me App to record when a shift starts and ends.

AU Reports: Gender Equity Reporting
Appologies in advance for my frustration.
Are Xero considering providing a Gender Equity report in the future?
I raised a case for our HR Dept last year and the answer from Xero was no.If any community member has any short cuts on gathering this info, please respond to this post.

NZ Payroll - Pay PAYE to IRD through payment file
Would be great if you could pay the IRD PAYE when you pay the employees in the same payroll batch. This is already a function with Flexitime Payhero and doesn’t rely on staff making the IRD PAYE payment manually. If Xero had this function there would never be any late IRD PAYE payments as its getting paid to IRD when the employees are paid.

AU Payroll - Include the leave description in Leave Request Report
This would be particularly helpful for employees who take excessive leave, instead of having to go in to the employee's Leave tab to view, or print screening to provide a report for reviewing.

UK Payroll - Leave Transactions report
A report that provides details of employees leave to be able to see the leave accruals and leave taken for the pay period.

Would be great if we could run a report detailing which staff have taken leave (annual, personal) during the period to confirm it agrees to leave entered in Xero Me.

As mentioned in my last update, you can use the Leave requests report which will show the start and end dates, as well as units and dollar amount. It's also possible to run the report for all, or just specific employees for the period. 🙂

It would be great to have read-only access to payroll - all of it - for auditors.

AU Payroll - Leave Request emails to show Organisation Name
Leave Request emails to show Organisation Name.
Currently, leave requests that come directly from Xero for an employee does not show which organisation the employee is from.
I have multiple businesses that I have payroll access and it is quite hard to recall all staff names from all businesses.
The subject line should show Jane Doh from XYZ Pty Ltd has requested leave. This would make identifying the company much simpler.4 votes -
AU Payroll - Option to run unscheduled pay runs without processing leave
Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.

AU Payroll - Unlimited text space for employee name fields
Increase number of letters/spaces in text field boxes in employee name fields.
Text fields for employee names are currently limited to 36 letters so my suggestion is to have an unlimited text field or increase to 50 spaces.
I only discovered this when a new employee's last name has 40 letters so I can't accurately add his full last name. Payslips need to be downloaded and edited via a pdf editor so he has the accurate payslip for his tax and visa records.

AU Payroll - Ability to generate timesheet report for hours paid vs hours submitted
We are wanting to create a report for timesheet information for hours worked submitted by employees, that have been reviewed by their managers, i.e. rejected and unapproved overtime worked. The timesheet report only lists the paid hours. We would like to know the hours submitted by employees on their timesheets, versus the hours that were eventually approved and paid for. Are we able to create a custom report for this, to work out unapproved (as revised by the approver) overtime hours per employee, for a specific time period. This information is needed to do the BOOT test…

AU Payroll: Differentiate leave loading on payroll reports
Could you please change the name on the Payroll Activity Details for Leave Loading Please. Not sure why you call it Annual Leave. It seems to be in the background and I can't change it. See picture attached.

AU Payroll - Include PAYG payment in Payroll batch files
I look after a business that has been advised by the ATO that their PAYG has cycle has changed & they must remit the PAYG tax to ATO within 7 days of each payrun.
