Fixed Asset (AU ) - Remove empty Fixed Asset Pool
I've accidentally created a Small Business Depreciation Pool in the Fixed Asset section of a client.
As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently remove or delete this, and it just hangs around forever?

Files - Allow uploads to client organisations
Changes to Xero that have not improved the program
How do I upload files from Xero Files (documents scanned to Xero etc) to my client it no longer allows this - previously you could access either Xerol Files or your own files from your drive - am I missing something ? Also you can no longer just print invoices you have to download them _ why this is a total pain - the joy of Xero was always click and print or email ??? Please put it back many thanks Kate Milne long time user and Xero fan!!!!

Bank Reconciliation - Bank 'statement details' screen covers invoices
There has been an ongoing BUG in Xero, on the bank reconcile screen, when you select more details about the transaction, it covers the invoices. If you have invoice references in the details, you have to close that then select the invoices in the reference. Xero should not cover the invoices, but display the details along the side, see CASE BUG CX0013467462 for full details and screenshot.
4 votesAppreciate your screenshot and can see what you're meaning here, Craig.
While this is not a bug we appreciate this is not ideal and understand why you'd like to be able to view these to items at once. Currently these are two separate features in the Reconcile screen which is why they work in isolation and the More details view can be open and closed while working with Find & Match.
We don't have immediate plans for changing this behaviour, however I've shared with our team and we will let you know if there's any change planned.

Timesheets: Allow non-employees to submit timesheets for reimbursement
I think it would be great to have a submit for approval option in timesheets on the web version just like you can with invoices and bills. I am a third party bookkeeper and therefore Xero Me isn't really an option because, I am not an employee so I can't really use Xero me and if a timesheet is submitted by an employee, it has to be sent to me for approval for editing to ensure it comes through to payroll correctly for processing as an approved timesheet cannot be edited in payroll. Not all staff are tech savvy and not all payroll and awards are straightforward so a bookkeeper is involved to ensure payroll is processed correctly. Currently, my client would like to approve the timesheets digitally before I process the payroll as they are on the road most of the day, so them using Xero Me is a great option, but a non-employee, like a bookkeeper can't use it. We are trying to streamline our payroll processes however the current set up isn't working for us and it would be great to have more than one option for submitting timesheets for approval.

Quotes - Add CIS
Be able to use CIS nominal codes on quotes so CIS is displayed
41 votesHi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.
Thanks for starting an idea in this, we'll begin to track the appetite as a possibility for future work. -
Statements - Auto populate the current date when searching customers statements
Hi it would be really good if when searching for client statements in xero that the date in the 'and' box populates to the current date rather than one month previous, as its quite annoying having to change that to the current date all the time. I would think most people would prefer to be able to see the most up to date figures.

UK Payroll - Pay employees directly via Open Banking
With the advent of Open Banking, it would be great if when you submit the payroll, it could also utilise OB to physically make the payment to the employee also. This would help automate the whole payroll process.

Budget manager - Ability to extend periods by more than 12 months
Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
It would be great help.13 votesAppreciate how you'd like to do this within Xero, however just to confirm it's currently possible to import budgets with more periods.
You'll just need to make sure to format the dates in your import file - more on this here.
If you'd like a practice run, try it in the demo company before importing into your own org 🙂

Reporting - Running scenario analysis with draft transactions
Dave Andrews asked a question.
Edited Tuesday, 15 August 2023 12:36 PMCan one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice not approved
Can one create a report based on DRAFT information eg Draft invoice or draft bill (not approved and therefore not posted into the books of account). For example I would like to see what impact certain entries would have on a balance sheet or income statement but dont want to approve them only to see the impact and then subsequently void or reverse them if I am, say unhappy with the outcome ? I see there is a way to "save as a draft or published"report but get the sense it does not contemplate what I describe above. A "what if " type exercise is one way to characterise it. Thank you
Paul Hodges (Xero)
Hey Dave
Although you can include Draft invoices and bills in the Receivable and Payable Invoice Summary reports, you can't currently report on the effect un-approved items would have on your accounts.
You might like to share this idea with other users on our Product ideas site, as this is helps our Product team to consider future changes.

UK Payroll: Record send dates of pension eligibility letters
The Pensions Act 2008 requires all employers to enrol their eligible employees into an auto-enrolment compliant qualifying workplace pension scheme, if they are not already in one, and pay specified minimum contributions. At the moment there is no way to check if and when the letter was sent to the employer. As this is a point on our audit checklist for all our clients would it be possible to add a field showing the date when the letter was sent out to an employee or ideally add it to a pension report.

VAT - Automatically calculate VAT using the Marginal Scheme
Ability to automatically calculate VAT using the marginal scheme.
Purpose: To easily show correct VAT amounts when VAT is only charged on the Margin between Purchase price and Selling Price.
58 votesHi everyone, thanks for your interest in this idea.
For now, I wanted to share that we're aware some users have the following process to record their transactions. The example uses a vehicle with a purchase price of £1500, and a sale price of £2000.
- Record the purchase of the vehicle on a purchase Bill for the full purchase price of £1500 with a tax rate of VAT Exempt. So the purchase is recorded in box 7 on the VAT return.
- Record the sale of the vehicle on an Invoice for the full £2000 - using the Tax Exclusive option, and then manually changing the VAT calculated to the required amount - £83.33 (i.e. 20% on the profit of £416.87 or 1/6 of £500) by clicking the small plus box above the Tax Rate.
This will mean that you only charge £83.33 VAT for the overall profit figure, and ensuring the correct amounts are reflected in boxes 1, 3, 5 and 6.
You could also create a custom invoice template to use with the invoices that hides the VAT detail. You'd need to insert the TaxInclusiveLineAmount field and remove the other Tax reference fields.

Quotes - Choice to show VAT information
Quotes need the ability to either show the VAT content or not. Depending on the type of business you are dealing with at the time i.e domestic or Commercial. Generally domestic clients want to know the total cost including tax (VAT) whereas on a Commerical clients are not bothered as it is generally assumed or stated plus VAT.

Contacts - Show transaction history report
To be able to see a proper transaction report of either outstanding or all transactions from the contact screen. All it gives you at the moment is a list of invoices and notes etc with no structure. If you could get a transaction history from that screen and an aged breakdown it would be really helpful, which you could download, without coming out of there and having to go to reports. It's so frustrating.
