Au payroll - Option to reorder dates in unscheduled pay run dropdown.
When there are no payruns for multiple pay runs in a row, please add a feature to allow to reset the pay cycle from a selected date. As it is, if a client doesn't have any pay runs, we need to either post/file the empty pay runs to keep on the pay calendar, or run all future pays as unscheduled pay runs, or set up a new pay calendar. AU Payroll - List more than 50 employees for timesheet approval
Our business is growing, and now we employ over 60 employees. Is it possible to have more than 50 employees listed on one page for payroll processing?
It looks like '50' is the maximum of line items in the drop-down menue, and I have to go the the second page in order to approve all employees for the payroll.3 votes -
AU Payroll - Reports for Timesheet Approver
As an approver of timesheets i see there are couple of issues which can make the process water tight.
1.Ability to see approved time sheets (siimilar to leaves). Currently once the timesheet is approved for an individual there is no way to check what has been approved
2.Ability to run a report for all employees that have been approved or alternatively ability to allow access to certain reports to the approver.

NZ and AU Payroll - Send link for easy onboarding of new employees
Send a link to on board new employees info ie TFN, bank accounts, super account and all personal particulars to get them ready for a pay run.

AU Payroll - Extend 90 day limit for payment date
Xero Payroll restricts the payment date to no more than 90 days after the end of the payroll period. This isn't a legal or taxation limitation, but does restrict the occassions where clients are paying payroll in less regular intervals (such as paying their entire salary annually).
3 votesHi team, while we appreciate the request here,considering compliance requirements for payroll in AU we want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing the ability to set the payment date beyond 90 days.
For any employees that you may pay on an annual salary basis, we'd recommend setting the payment date 90 days before the employee's annual pay date.

UK Payroll - Stop access to payslips until the date of the pay run
In Xero payroll, when pay runs are posted before the pay date there needs to be a delay in the employees accessing payslips

NZ Payroll | Employee - Set up as a 'Casual' employee
It would save a lot of errors if you had an employment type option where once 'casual' was selected as a type, you could only then enter what was needed for casual staff and leave/holiday pay would automatically change accordingly. I have anumber of clients who, when entering new casual staff, inadvertently add hours per day and days per week which then starts the accrual of annual leave and unless they tick the little box under holiday pay, the employee is not paid their 8%.

We’ve started some work around enabling Xero customers to select Employment Types such as casual. While in early stages at present we’ll keep you updated on progress for this here.

UK Payroll - Employee Details export in bulk with correct date format
Purpose: to be able to move payroll from one Xero company to another quickly and without errors.
When exporting employee details from payroll in order to bulk upload them onto another company's payroll, it is not possible to do a bulk export. You have to instead individually download each employee. This is fine if there are only 10-20 employees, but any bigger and you are opening yourself up to missing employees and making mistakes. Any other exports currently available do not give all the information needed to then import directly into a new payroll.

UK Payroll - Activity Details and Summary report format
The new Payroll Activity and Summary Report is not as user friendly as the old one. It was much easier to read and find your employee name and net amount due on the older version. I also don't like how half an employees details can be on one page and the rest on the next page. I would like to revert to the old style, if possible?

UK Payroll: Pay apprenticeship levy through Xero
I have a client that needs to apply the Apprenticeship levy and this is not available on Xero Payroll as this is normally a function for large companies and not small companies that Xero are focusing on. This is a small company, but do form part of a large UK group therefore are sucked into reporting this to HMRC. Can this function be integrated into Xero payroll to be switched on when needed? NZ Payroll - leave requests and approval while processing pay runs
Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.
If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.
When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.
I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve…

AU Payroll - Option for Weekly PAYG Withholding period
Ability to change our PAYG Withholding period to weekly. Only options are None, Monthly or Quarterly. The ATO requires we lodge and pay PAYGW weekly now and this is not possible in Xero. We have to change our PAYGW period to None so that it does not show on the BAS and manually calculate, lodge and pay this weekly.
34 votesHello everyone, we appreciate you engaging with us about this topic. To clarify, we acknowledge support in this idea has arisen from a new requirement from the ATO that means large orgs that withhold over $1M annually to submit PAYGW weekly via STP.
While we appreciate why you'd like to automate this flow of information from Payroll to BAS within Xero there are two current options;
- Within Payroll settings you could untick “Reportable as W1 on Activity Statement” so your payroll data is not included in BAS, or
- Manually remove the W1 and W2 figures from your Activity Statement to lodge activity statements for clients that are submitting weekly PAYGW.
This idea is on our product teams radar, however we want to be upfront that at this stage we don't have any plans for developing an automation of these fields.

AU Payroll - Superannuation Payment: Filter by Week Ending not Due Date
It would be great to be able to filter by the PAYROLL DATE not just the DUE DATE for Superannuation Payments.
This would make it a lot easier when creating smaller super batch payments.
Currently, we pay our 100 staff's super each month (30 days after) and this means I need to manually click next to each individual payment line. I can multi-select all, but that will select every single line for all months.8 votes -
AU Payroll - Ability to hide Payroll accounts from employees with Standard user permissions
It was bought to my attention after using xero for over 2 years that depending on how you pay your staff using multipayment or individually that when you reconcile if your staff have access to contacts then they will see the payments made.
This is a concern for me that they can see the amounts whether your reconcile as a bulk amount and allocate to them or a generic contact - if you use the cash coding area then xero creates a dummy payee called unknown which again can be seen by your staff with standard…

AU Payroll - Ability to apply work patterns to part time employees
Suggest the ability to apply work patterns to part time employees. For example, we have a part time employee who works 7 hours on Mon, 6 hours on Tues and 6 hours on Wed.
At the moment, if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday, it does not correctly work out hours worked.
The same happens if Annual Leave is taken; incorrect hours are calculated which affects AL accruals.

AU Payroll - Remove terminated employees
Ex Employees older than 5 years cannot be deleted. Data still contains payslips. Old data can be overwritten but payslips remain and employee cannot be deleted because Xero thinks it is in a payrun. This is a cyber security breach as old data of ex employees can still be accessed and cannot be deleted.

AU Payroll - Recurring leave request
We have 2 employees that will be taking 1 day LSL every week in the new financial year and it would be very helpful if there was a way to add in this type of leave request as a recurring request for the same day each week. Rather than having to add in 1 day leave for each occasion.

AU Payroll - Allow allowances to contribute towards other leave rates
With separating the All purpose allowances. Is there going to be a selection for SICK LEAVE and RDO in the future? (Currently Contributes to Annual and Overtime) only. There is a lot of room for error when you have 50 employees and you have manually adjusted the rate for every single employee!! I'm sure we are not the only company that has RDO and Sick Leave where the all-purpose allowances need to be included in the base rate. Could you please Add this option to the allowances pay item. AU Payroll - Track days off for non-employee contractors
It would be very helpful if we could allocate and track unpaid leave categories for non-employees so we can see when they are going to take holidays.
