Need to be able to accumulate annual leave and sick leave when an employee has to rates of pay for example: working in two departments - one pay 24.50hr and the other department pays $24.17hr, currently Xero does not accumulate pay on multiple ordinary hours pay rates, one has to be and overtime rate using multiple of hours how can you do this for a rate with a difference of 33c.   2. IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.

    ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

  3. At the moment when one staff member accesses notifications on the main Xero dashboard and actions it i.e tax code changes the notification will not disappear for all users on the Xero subscription. It would be a good idea that this could disappear for all users once actioned to completion to ensure that work is not duplicated by two or three other staff checking that same notification.

  5. We need sick leave to be recorded in days to line up with current NZ payroll legislation. 10 days sick leave. The current settings in hours only work for people who work the same hours on the same days. Anyone with variable hours or different hours on different days this does not work and manual accrual needs to be kept outside of payroll. Then leave balances need to be manually adjusted which is a lot of work. This has been an issue for many many years and would be good to get fixed.

    Hey team, as some may have seen we've been doing lots of work in the NZ Payroll space. For those just getting started with Xero (from 5 August 2024) sick leave will now be recorded in days, and can set up the Sick leave entitlement date.

    We appreciate many in the idea here have been using Xero for a while and we want to confirm this is something we're working on for our existing customers as well, however there are more intricacies to work through from what already exists to the new. We'll round back to confirm with more detail and to let you know when this is being released for everyone. Thanks

  7. When viewing historic employees, being able to view the next historic employee would be great, rather than having to come back out of history employees, which only shows the historic employee you have selected, with a drop down list of current employees only, then you have to go back in again to employees/history again to look up the next historic employee

  9. A report that shows current annual leave hours, plus leave available to take in advance hours for each employee. It's very time consuming to have to calculate leave if you want to give an employee leave in advance. Using the "show leave available to take in advance" option in the employee set up tends to give the wrong balances on the employee payslip which leads to confusion.

  10. My suggestions is that automated super should be available if a Xero package offers payroll, like the starter package and the Standard package - its near impossible for clients to make direct super payments for employees (even for business owners themselves) without using this feature.

    With the increases in subscriptions occurring in September I think an upgrade with automated super should be tabled for the lower subscription packages.

  11. Could a similar function that UK organsiations have to "deep archive" employees be rolled out to AU organsiations? This will assist to adhere to legal requirements of retaining employee records for 7 years.

  12. A simple payroll report that shows the actual wages for a period for reporting for Workers Compensation as it is a legal requirement for AU businesses. Details would be split into wages paid including super, with the residency status (+country of origin for Working Holiday Makers) - with a split if an employee has changed employment basis (i.e., moved from Casual to FT) in the period.
    And any additional details that are required by the majority of insurance companies who handle Workers Comp.

  14. AU Payroll - Setting up a Director in payroll

    When setting up an Employee in payroll that is only being paid Directors fees, you're not able to add their info directly in the Employee tab. Instead, you need to add the directors' fees pay item to their pay template, while also setting up a 0 rate in the ordinary earnings rate.
    It would be great if you could pull the Directors fees through to the Employee tab, rather than having to create a 0 rate to allow setup.

  15. Currently, Xero does not have the feature to assign certain working days for part time employees. This becomes very frustrating when doing payroll.

    For instance, an employee works Wednesday to Friday and when a public holidays falls on a Monday, Xero will allocate either all or some of the employees ordinary hours to this date incorrectly. This means we will have to manually adjust it each time.

    A simple resolution would be to set up employees to certain working days, then the public holidays would assign correctly and there would be no need to manual adjustments.

  18. It would be great if Xero could send an alert if a leave request has been submitted for a payroll period that has already been processed?
    This would apply in the situation that payroll was run early and then an employee took a day off in the period that was included in the payrun.

  19. Allow businesses to adapt their Xero Dashboard with "Widgets" such as reminders of submission dates for next payroll run, CIS submission, VAT Return etc. Also show current outstanding values for net pay, CIS & PAYE/NIC payments, VAT payment/refund.

    Hi Sharon, a few ideas rolled in the one here. While appreciate the detail it would not be possible for the teams to work on these widgets at once. 

    It would be good to get a view of the interest in each. 

    I've adjust the title of your idea here to reflect your first idea on reminders. We have another for the ability to show tax on the dashboard you may like to join & support, and welcome to start any others for particular widgets you'd like to see so we can begin to get a sense of the interest in each. 🙂

  20. Please allow timesheet approval as a sub option to payroll admin in the user set up, similar to "invoice only" option in the business and accounting setup. We have employees on labour hire contracts that need to submit their hours to the client supervisor for approval so that we can get paid. We want to be able to add the client rep without giving them full access to payroll. The only current work around is to add them as as a "Contractor - Non Employee" in Xero Payroll
