  3. Ability to select a date that says payment is due upon receipt of this invoice. This is "due date" is used just as much as net terms of 30 days.

    Hi community, returning to the idea right now you could enter a Due Date that's the same as the Invoice Date (or set it to whatever the date is when the invoice is being approved and emailed).


    Additionally if you'd like to specify the text that appears (such as 'This invoice is due upon receipt') you could either:

    • Add this into the ' Terms & Payment Advice (Invoice and Statement)' on a Standard invoice template, or
    • Add this text into the Footer of the invoice template on a Advanced branding theme
  4. I would like to ask if there is a possibility of having on suppliers' and customers' activity bar (please see attached screenshot, what I mean) and one more column - bill/invoice description? I used to work with QuickBooks, and they had this feature, which was very helpful.

  5. No Tradespeople doing work for me provide a breakdown as part of their invoice ie hourly rate, number of hours or materials cost.
    One I asked said there wasn't enough room. Another, when requested for this information, sent it in the body of an email.
    Why is this happening?

    Hi Sue, not really an idea as such here - this could be a question you ask in Discussion over in Xero central to understand how other businesses in Trades are working with invoicing. 

    The current fields of an invoice are listed here - the way you'd like to record hours and materials qty's associated to your work may be good to get advice from your advisor on. 

    For example, if you have regular services or items that you sell you could set these up as untracked items, and leave indicators int he description field of where you'd like a Tradesperson to write hours worked or Qty of materials used. 

    Alternatively, they could type the hours in the Qty and Price would be their hourly rate, or qty would be numbers of units of a material and price would be the cost per individual unit.

  7. Calculating both quotes & invoices, and showing a margin based on unit cost and price, and also setting a price based on a required margin.

  8. In new invoicing, please revert the ability to edit the postal address 'attention' box, back to the same as classic invoicing. Property managers want the owner's name included in the invoice address, so for each invoice I produce, I need to change the person's name in the 'attention' box. Previously this could be done by clicking on 'edit address' within the invoice, but in new invoicing, I need to edit the address by going into 'contacts', 'edit ', 'addresses', 'edit address', 'update address', 'save'.     Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to tune into updates of the idea here. Taking feedback on board on information that's most helpful to our customers we've released improvements to the ‘Contact’ field within new invoicing. 

    We heard being able to edit and add the 'Attention to' for a contacts address was important, and we've now added this capability into the contact card so you can edit this in the billing or delivery address detail, on the fly. 

    Along with this; there's now a look up tool so you can easily search and select a contact's addresses, and we’ve added more lines to enter a contacts address if needed. We appreciate your engagement and letting us know what matters to you through product ideas. 

  9. When emailing a sales invoice which has a credit note applied, the basic email template text should quote the amount owed MINUS the amount of the credit note. The email is incorrect with regard to the amount owed, and customers often erroneously overpay.

    Hey community - we're delivering this idea 🎉

    The team have been testing a solution over the past few weeks. Off the back of positive feedback, we'll be rolling this out to 100% of Xero organisations. 

    It will be enabled automatically for all statements sent out. Thanks for all of your feedback on this feature! 

    The team are also exploring a solution to our other top-voted Statements idea, Contacts | Statements - View and Pay Online. We’ve shifted it to ‘Under Review’ for now.

  11. Add the option to change invoices with stripe card payments linked up so that the prompt to pay by card does not pop up when they open the invoice, but the link on the invoice stay available in the terms & payment advice section.

    My reasoning behind this is that I would rather recieve payment by bank transfer to avoid processing fees, but still want to offer the option for someone to pay by card.

  12. Ability: Xero only displaying the unpaid invoice up top under client/contact ----- same as former Xero version - PLEASE change this back it was perfect and it is very much not userfriendly now

    Purpose: quick overview of the account i.e. which invoices are unpaid and what was communicated last

  13. In the New Invoicing Template you have to enter a Qty for every line as the default Qty is "0"... In the classic version and what we are all used to it's "1".. As a ball park guess I'd say the use of Zero qty on a line is a lot less common than any other number from 0-9 and I'd guess most lines are a qty of x1.. If I wanted to default my qty's to Zero, I can not see the point in making invoices :)))) Come on who made Zero a default qty for invoicing??

  14. we should be able to do a csv bulk upload for receiving payments on invoices. the filed highlighted in yellow should be in a csv file, other fields such as invoice number or ref can be added. we do bulk upload and the invoice automatically updates with the payments.

    Hi team, I'd like to confirm that the ability to send invoices via SMS is now released to all AU users that have connected Stripe.

    We're beginning to look at expanding this feature to other regions, and next up with be the US.

    While sending via SMS is available within individual invoices atm, it is not possible to automate this with invoice reminders yet. If you're interested in this we have a slightly different idea you may like to join and follow across here.

  16. Currently if an invoice is sent to GoCardless for DD collection, and it exceeds the transaction value set by GoGardless, the DD isn't collected, but no error message is sent by either Xero or GoCardless.

    Need to improve visibility of errors in Xero, so alternative collection arrangements can be made.

  17. Invoices have a Date field with the temporal resolution of YYYY-MM-DD (despite there being numeric values to support time as well).
    This field shows the date that the invoice is created. It would be wonderful if the invoices had a time field, with the timestamp that the invoice was created.
    Fundamentally, this is extremely similar to UpdatedDateUTC.

  18. If I'm paying a bill by monthly direct debit (say Business rate), it would be useful to have the ability to set up multiple payments instead of having to set up 12 separate identical monthly payments.

    Would it be possible to add an icone with user set up action on the top right corner of the invoice page?
    I would like to have a one click button to copy existing invoice to the same client.
    At the moment I need to click invoice option/ copy to/ and copy to do this.
