  1. Needs 'Are you sure' pop up for Deleting Contact Files

    Its too easy to accidentally delete a file attached to a Contact. Needs to be an 'Are you sure you want to delete ...' pop up when deleting.
    Especially as it also doesn't populate in the history/notes section that anything has been deleted.

    Thanks for your idea, Joe. To better understand the use case and maybe help others who'd be after the same connect with your idea here - Are there any scenarios or situations you generally find when viewing a contact and wanting to view the very next or last contact in a list? 

  3. When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.

    All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.

    So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.

  4. As accountants we are busy busy busy and I understand everyone is busy today but we are up against HARD DEADLINES almost daily in our business. Every extra "click" added in Xero over the last months have added extra time it takes to do our jobs. The extra clicks it takes to get to the last month Bank Rec is stupid crazy.     Appreciate your feedback on the changes across Xero, Jackie. Being open it is hard to understand true interest and communicate on ideas that span many features and areas of Xero, and for this reason we will mark the idea as not planned. 

    There are some necessary changes that in some places may add more change a previous flow you may have grown accustom through our building on beautiful work

    Our teams are conscious of this and working wherever possible to increase simplicity for the way customers work in Xero. 

  5. Update new Invoicing to allow sending invoices to contact groups as you can in the classic invoicing. It's ridiculous that something so useful has been left behind in the switch to the new style. I need to be able to amend the invoices I send out based on the individual needs of the group. It saves so much time to be able to create a default set of drafts that I can amend rather than having to go to each individual and create an individual invoice within that group. Please guys, piull this across!

    Thanks for getting involved and sharing your interest for contact group invoicing, everyone. Our latest updated for new invoicing means you can now create a new invoice for a contact group! 😊

    If you've still be using classic invoicing, switch to the new version first through the banner at the top, or link at the bottom of any invoice.

    Next time, you create an invoice for a Contact group you'll be taken to enter the details for your group invoice, in new invoicing. We appreciate all your input and feedback through the idea here.

  6. To be able to 'pin' a note t the top of the client profile to see a note clearly.

    This note will continue to stay at the top of their activity to view easily.

  7. It would be good for the lower scroll bar to display when a screen is minimised (in contacts). Currently, if you minimise the screen (as I do when I am comparing entries in another external on-line tab, for example, with my HMRC account, or my on-line bank account) you can only see the left of the minimised screen. The information does not compact into a full but smaller screen, neither is there a scroll button to scroll the information to the right.   8. If you already have bank accounts setup then you wish to add a bank feed, the bank feed will only create another bank account. It is not possible to merge data or start feeding the data into an existing bank account. The support team has suggested other manual workaround instead.

    Please consider adding appropriate functions so for those who have transitioned from other accounting systems and have existing bank accounts or for those who didn't start bank feed right away and would want to do it now to have a much seamless adoption of the…

    Hi team, if you've set up a bank account and decide to connect a bank feed later on this is possible without having to set up a new bank account in your organisation. 


    If you've set up a bank account that there is a feed available for, you'll see a 'Get bank feeds' option in the widget on your Dashboard. 

    If this does not appear you may need to Edit Account Details to make sure these have been entered correctly. 

    Should you have any troubles through the process, you can raise a case with our team of specialists to check in an confirm the process for your bank account. 

  9. After reporting a bug (can no longer preview contact files) I was given the following response :

    "As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to preview contact files anymore. You can however, download it and view it instead.
    I’ve included a link to Xero Product Ideas where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts."

    When something breaks you fix it. You DO NOT pretend that fixing it is a "New Feature" - that then needs requested and voted on.

  10. Reduce the lag in items column when searching, it takes too long to search, sometimes up to 4secs! Please also change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied", as when I start a new invoice the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter items. The pop up box lingers too long and covers the information I need to read! This is frustrating every time when creating multiple invoices and I have to "x" the pop up message away each time, which then…

    Appreciate your feedback here, we're currently working on some updates to the line item grid where you enter the detail of your invoices and the 'Item' field is located. Part of the work the team are doing in this space should also address issues you've noted in the loading of items when you're invoicing.

  11. can you make the selection of multiple files possible when adding images to invoices please. i have to navigate to my phones picture folder when i am invoicing out my expenses for the month. i have to attach copies of my receipts to the invoice and its painful only being able to add them one at a time.

    Next time you open this report you should see 'Contact' as an option in Columns, Grouping/Summarising and Filtering - See an example below and enjoy making use of this new field and adding another level of insights to your reporting in Xero 🙂

    Hi Les, this is possible through the use of Custom reports. Once you change the format of the report, Save as custom where you'll also find you have the option to make this the default. 

    It will need to be set up for each financial report you'd like to implement this across, but once done can be an easy select each time it's used by yourself or another in the org. 

  16. On the newly rolled out quote form, have the ability to change the default 'Send me a copy' when emailing the quote.
    Why would I want to send myself a copy when I have all my quotes available to me directly through Xero?!

    The 'send me a copy' field remembers the last setting used. So, if you untick this for one, it should default to unticked for the next one and following ✅ 

  17. Small request: Include the cover & contents page by default, please.

    The following is info from a Support webpage... Publish a report from the Drafts tab. In the Accounting menu, select Reports. Select the Drafts tab. Click the menu icon kebab style menu icon to the right of the report you want to publish, then select Publish.

  18. It would be very useful to be able to create Account Transaction reports for individual or grouped bank accounts that show detailed descriptions and split transactions and which account (chart of accounts) each item in the split transaction is allocated to.

    You can already do this in the Account Transactions report, Ann. 

    You can select to add Description and Related account as columns so you can see the detail and account each line was coded too. 

  19. Ability to approve bills by more than one user in Xero.

  20. I am working with Société Générale (France) and we are not so lucky to have the automated bank transactions functionality. Our bank is combining both main bank movement and credit card movements in their OFX format.

    This currently gives me the following error message in Xero : The file selected contains more than one statement which is not currently supported. Download a file with transactions for one account and try again.

    My error message finds its cause in the fact that I have an export from the bank that contains both <bankmsgrsv1> and <creditcardmsgrsv1> transactions.
