  1. Ability to change our PAYG Withholding period to weekly. Only options are None, Monthly or Quarterly. The ATO requires we lodge and pay PAYGW weekly now and this is not possible in Xero. We have to change our PAYGW period to None so that it does not show on the BAS and manually calculate, lodge and pay this weekly.

    Hello everyone, we appreciate you engaging with us about this topic. To clarify, we acknowledge support in this idea has arisen from a new requirement from the ATO that means large orgs that withhold over $1M annually to submit PAYGW weekly via STP.

    While we appreciate why you'd like to automate this flow of information from Payroll to BAS within Xero there are two current options;

    • Within Payroll settings you could untick “Reportable as W1 on Activity Statement” so your payroll data is not included in BAS, or
    • Manually remove the W1 and W2 figures from your Activity Statement to lodge activity statements for clients that are submitting weekly PAYGW.

    This idea is on our product teams radar, however we want to be upfront that at this stage we don't have any plans for developing an automation of these fields.

  3. I want to be able to create a new leave policy but there is currently no functionality for this. The existing leave policies are limited and do not allow for leave to be loaded from a specific date, only the start anniversary or 1st Jan, or to be accrued gradually. I have some clients who set their leave from the first date of their financial year eg. 1st May each year. It would be useful to either have this leave policy loaded by Xero for provide the ability to create new leave policies.

  4. When an employee is off sick you should be able to open and input the start date and then save, to input the end date when the employee returns to work.

Option already exists to have multiple bank accounts, however If bonus etc is process separately this option doesnt work as its a different pay run, it would be good to have a fixed amount option that lasts for the month and then re-sets, regardless of how many times employee is paid, after fixed amount is paid, balance goes into different account for that month and then re-sets

  7. As default, can you please turn off the check box "Show journal on cash basis reports"
    For users that rely on the 'Cash Summary' report, non-cash journals create significant difficulty getting a true read on the cash position of the business, a key requirement for this report. Thanks

  8. Now that directors fees are considered allowances, they don't show up in the employee remuneration report because that is for OTE only.
    I would greatly appreciate being able to include directors on the remuneration report because the board asks for total remuneration on a monthly basis.

  9. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

  10. P11 PAYE & P11 NIC annual reports, need to have an option to export as Excel, instead of auto downloading as a webpage.
    My auditor requested these in Excel format and there was not an option for this, it would make it much easier if these type of reports could have download options, so you could export to excel.
    This will also allow usage for tracking and internal auditing.
    Yes, you could copy all and paste into excel, but this isn't always reliable as sometimes it will paste it all in to one cell, (which is a pain to fix)…

    Hey Sam, thanks for sharing this idea.

    As you’ve found, it’s not possible to export the P11 reports in excel format. Totally understand that copying and pasting details from the .html file is a time-consuming process!

    Just curious if there’s specific information required in the P11 reports that’s unavailable in our other reports?

    You can find much of the same information in the ‘Gross to Net’ and ‘Payroll Activity Detail / Summary’ reports, and they do support saving as an excel file.

  11. You can enter a group for an employee on the employment information but this function cannot be used on the reports.

    If the information of which employee is in which group, then surely its not a huge leap to add this function to the reports. Using the gross to net report, you could select a group rather than an individual, saving a lot of time.

  12. I would like long service leave to accrue and update the balance each payrun like annual leave does, i.e. leave available to take in advance. rather than waiting for the accrued LSL to be applied on the anniversary date.

  13. We use tracking categories of building jobs. It would be great to archive the tracking category once the job it complete. Allowing a P&L by tracking category report to only show active jobs.

  15. with the new functionality of adding start end times and notes, we are not able to print or download this data in any reporting. the only way we can SEE this info is in the individual timesheet by person.
    If you can update the report to include all information that would be useful as the current process is only half done.

  16. At the moment Xero only produce standard 18 format files for paying employees electronically. There is very minimal banks that accept this kind of format. I I think it would be of great use if we could upload a template file to Xero of the format our bank accepts and it then produces this type of file for us.

  17. When a Pay Template has been created for an employee, only the matching Earnings Rate should be overwritten by entries in Timesheets. Any other Earnings Rates that are set up in the Pay Template should still should still be available in the Payslip - they shouldn't have to be added back in again when processing the pay run. For instance, Fares & Travel Pattern Allowance needs to be paid over and above the Ordinary Hours recorded on the Timesheet.   18. There is no reason to keep the previous bank holidays on every payslip.

    I can’t seem to get rid of previous bank holidays from showing on current/future payslips. Why are bank holidays from the Easter and the King's Coronation still appearing on payslips May 2023 onwards?? Doesn’t look very professional. This is all on the YTD earnings line. Why isn't there an option to remove it? Clients are not very happy.

    Hi everyone, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to ‘Delivered’ with the change the team made to Payslip PDFs. We have now combined all previous earnings as one YTD line so that your employees only see the most relevant information 🥳
