    Hi everyone, thanks so much for sharing your comments and support for this idea. We really get why you'd like a central report, so you can check each customer's payment history just to see who's paying late.

    Currently as mentioned in the discussion here, you can see a customer's average days to pay on their individual contact record, but we know this isn't the same as having a single report for all your customers. 

    While we can see there's a lot of interest in this, it's not on our current roadmap for development. Community members will still be able to vote - So we'll continue to keep a close eye here and will let you know if anything changes.

  2. It's not possible for customers to update their own email address eg if we send an invoice or statement to an old email address and they want to change it. Would be good if customer could update it and we just verify it. Or some kind of automated form they get to speed updating it.

    An update in the last few months bought inconsistency into the invoicing format in terms of the decimal points on the unit pricing. It would be good to be able to define this - to two, three, four decimal points so that there is consistency on the invoices rather than some units at two and some at four decimal points.

  4. Hi,
    Currently Xero restricts the export of Invoice / Bills to 500 rrecords at a time.

    We, I am sure like so may other Xero users are a small value per transaction - High Transaction number enviromment and therefore even if one filters on date range for one day, the number of invoices are in excess of 500. This also means that we are unable to append files for one day at a time.

    My I request Xero to remove the restriction on the number of records while exporting Invoice / Bills transactions please.

  5. Being able to customize each user role is quite important as every person in every company does something different. Giving them access to systems they shouldn't have because the User Role they need to do their job allows them access to these other areas is a security risk in general.

    Putting in Custom Roles will also allow companies to adjust the Users to their Company Policies for controls.

    Appreciate the idea here - Being transparent, developing granular permissions or roles for every feature and action throughout Xero is not in our plans. 


    Understanding more of the permission sets majority of users need, will help understand where the biggest impact could be made. 

    I've slightly adjusted the title to suit the needs of the role you mentioned. We'll get a sense of others that'd like this too. 

  6. Automated File attachments for repeating invoices.

    Is it possible to add a feature where attachment placeholders can be saved with a repeating invoice.? So that attachments can be bulk uploaded at some future time and they are included in the draft invoice using file name matching. "[contactname][year][month].csv" for example. Even better if this could done with all the attachments extracted from a single uploaded monthly zip file. The zip file could also perhaps contain a txt file with a simple filename to invoice matching array for a more flexible approach. I know that adding attachments is easy via…

  7. When a Xero customer is creating an invoice for another Xero customer - why not allow this to automatically show up in the Bills section, if the receiver agrees to this. Would save a heap of time and coding.

    Hi team, sorry we have not engaged with this idea before now. I'm pleased to confirm that this idea is already a feature within Xero.

    If a user is in an eInovicing region(AU, NZ or UK) and has registered to receive eInvoices, once you add them as the Contact to your invoice the option to 'Send as an eInvoice' will appear.

    For non-eInvoicing regions the option to send via the Xero network is available and your customer will be able to share their Xero network key with you to send with this option - This option is currently available from the Awaiting Payments list screen, however we're currently developing the ability to send with the Xero Network from within an invoice and you can stay updated on this delivery here.

  8. It would be great if we could do a bulk recode of due dates for invoices. EG, all May invoices for a particular supplier can be recoded so the due date shows 30 June.

  11. Please implement a feature allowing users to add billable expenses assigned to Projects directly to an existing draft invoice.

    Currently, users can only add billable expenses directly to a draft invoice if the expense is assigned to a Customer. When expenses are assigned to a Project, they can only be invoiced through Projects. This causes issues when an expense assigned to a Project is has been missed, and needs to be added to the draft invoice. The current workaround requires deleting the draft invoice and starting the invoicing process again, which is time-consuming and inefficient.

  13. Our company's invoicing procedure comprises three steps:
    (1) invoice generation by our own custom software and also pushed to Xero through the Xero API,
    (2) direct debit payments manually added and processed via GoCardless (on their own website, not Xero's integration) for selected invoices, and
    (3) invoice reconciliation in Xero. This process is jeopardized when any alterations are made to the invoices in any of the systems (our database, Xero, or GoCardless), causing inconsistencies and the need for corrective credit notes.

  14. The date format for South Africa is incorrect. We use a day month year format, not the American month day year format. Surely Xero can change this so its adaptable for each country and preference? Its not asking a lot of work to have that additional option. But can cause a huge issue when its not what we work with.

  15. Bulk download of invoice PDF files (not export csv)

    Currently after doing a search, what I understand the current process is:
    - Going under Paid / Unpaid tab under Invoices
    - Checkbox all and select print
    - But this clumps ALL the invoices into a single PDF file instead of one file per invoice number
    - Using an online tool to split the invoices. If your invoice is more than 1 page long, you'll need to manually merge them back.
    - Alternatively, manually clicking each invoice link, hitting the Print PDF button. Going back and repeat every invoice.

    It'd help when sharing back with the team if you could share more detail of why you'd like the ability to export in bulk but create individual files. What would this help your business do? 

  16. Massive oversight by Xero.
    E-Invoicing only available to VAT registered companies as you have to enter a VAT number. What about all the non-registered companies?
    Why can't you select that you aren't VAT registered and be able to benefit by E-Invoicing?

    Hi everyone, we appreciate interest from non-VAT registered businesses that would like to make use of the efficiencies eInvoicing brings.

    As the UK do not have a standard business number, this create complexity in being able to identify and register non-VAT registered businesses on the Peppol network.

    While this is an idea that we'd like to continue to gain interest from our community in, we want to be upfront we don't have any plans to support eInvoicing for non-VAT registered businesses in the near term.

    We're actively advocating for this with the UK Government as part of their recent e-Invoicing consultation.

  17. Find and recode should be able to search a date range by who has recently edited transactions within that date range (I.e User 1 edited 3 transactions between 1/7/22 - 30/6/23 on the following dates).

    I work on a file where several people attend to different parts of the bookkeeping process, so being able to see who has edited what transactions within a certain date range would be hugely helpful.

  18. It would be useful to see the Date and Contact Name associated with each invoice and expense that is shown in Projects, rather than clicking to view each one each time.

    This is particularly important now that we have realised that those with Projects access but not Standard User access to Xero cannot view the invoices or expenses to see that detail.

  20. The Discuss Tab should have a history trail showing the user and date that a comment was submitted.

    Also registered comments should not be editable or removed once submitted. The ideal situation would be if the tab took on the functionality of a chat system also allowing to tag a user of that particular company in a discussion prompting a notification to the user.

    Once a transaction is processed, the notes should be attached to the transaction in the history and notes section for future reference.
