Au Payroll - Overtime report
Overtime Report by employee in one easy to read report
Managerment required a report to analyse overtime per employee over the course of a year - in one report. Only option in Xero is to run report employee by employee. (which would be incredibly time consuming)
A simple report would be -
- Rows would be list of employees
- Columns would be all the overtime categories,
- values would be sum of hours worked (or dollar value or both)
- parametres would be between two given dates.I could find no such useful report in Xero - instead I…

AU Payroll - Report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination
When using the Leave Paid out on Termination feature in xero, the paid out leave is recorded in the Holiday Leave Accrual category. This means we are unable to run a report showing the value of unused entitlements paid out on Termination. This is important information for Workcover Reconciliations etc. Please set up a report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination.

AU Payroll - Employee Leave type settings report
We are after a report which shows the leave accrual rates for each individual employee in bulk report. I know we can view each individual employee by clicking on their leave balance and looking at the "Hours of leave accrued annually by a full-time employee. However for businesses with a large number of employees, this is very time consuming, therefore we would like a bulk report we can run to view all employees accrual rates in the one report.

Inventory - Add default tracking options to items
Adding default tracking option for inventory items in Xero.
Purpose: To make users don't have to think about or forget to add the correct tracking.
80 votesAppreciate the interest in being able to set default tracking options against inventory items.
While this isn't possible at an item level atm, it might be useful to some here knowing that you can set default tracking for your contacts.
To be open we don't have any immediate plans for extending default tracking set up against items, however we'll keep a pulse on the interest here and if there are any plans made we'll be sure to let you know.

AU Payroll - Set the number of decimals places to 2
set the number of decimals places e.g. 2 so when Xero applies a award factor e.g. 1.5x award rate the results only displays to two decimals place in their pay.
Awards are published to two decimals places that's all we are required to pay in Australia.
Fixing the rounding wastes so much time.21 votes -
AU Payroll - Show 'actual' leave balance in employee record
Make it so that an employees actual current leave balance is shown on an employee's record under the leave tab. Not just the balance with future leave applied. It's frustrating to have to download an employees pay slip to view these balances.

UK Payroll - Ability to Edit the Payslip Layout
It would help employees to understand their payslips if we could choose the order that pay elements appear on the payslips

Chart of Accounts - Assign a Tracking category
Automatically assign a tracking category to a chart of account code, so when costs are billed against the account code, it also automatically assigns those costs to a default tracking category

AU Payroll - Calculate a fixed net salary
When negotiating salaries It can be beneficial to express an amount net of tax and super. Xero does not calculate this other than imputing different amounts of gross wages to achieve a net figure close to required net amount.
Maybe something you could add to future upgrades.6 votes -
AU Payroll - Include DOB & start date in Employee Contact Details report

VAT Reconciliation - Ability to view tracking category
Adding tracking categories to VAT return/reports:
I would like to run a VAT return/report per quarter to be shown by tracking category rather than as a whole. There is not an option on the current VAT report to add the tracking categories, therefore I think this would add benefits to any client that uses tracking categories for departments.
42 votesThanks for your response, Jordan. Can see why the Account Transactions report won't fit in this scenario.
To be upfront we don't have current plans around this with much of our reporting teams focus on change in the new reporting framework in lead up to removing older reports in July this year - More on this here
I've slightly amended the title of your idea and we'll feel out the interest for this here and update if any change is planned.
For now if not already, I'd highly encourage sharing link to the idea here with your clients and colleagues that'd like to see this to support, too.

AU Payroll - Bulk approve timesheets
A 'select all' feature to approve all unapproved timesheets would be great.
8 plus years now of having to tick in a tiny box for all my casual/part-time staff is getting a little tedious, especially when a slight error opens the timesheet up and you have to then back out of the page to start all over again.
It shouldn't be too hard from a coding point of view should it?

NZ Payroll - Option to change employee anniversary date when on unpaid leave for more than 1 week
Where an employee takes unpaid leave for more than one week, it would be helpful if you could enter in the date in which the unpaid leave applies from so that the anniversary date can automatically be reset. The current set up is rather antiquated, and needs to be automated to ensure accuracy and ease of use.
2 votesHey team, thanks for your input. We appreciate your needs here, and have a bit of an update. For any organisations that started using Xero payroll in NZ from 5 August 2024, you'll find you can adjust the employee's sick leave entitlement date from their employee record. See more detail around this on Xero Central.
For all other organisations, don't worry this is also in the works but just has a little more complexity to it, we'll keep you updated of when this is made available to all remaining organisations, here.

UK Payroll - Bulk imports such as tips
We currently need to manually enter additions such as tips to several employees which is time consuming. It would be nice to enter all the tips with one CSV import into Xero.

AU Payroll - Ability to export and import pay items and rates
Ability to export pay items and update pay rates in a spreadsheet and then re-import when pay rates have been updated. Would save so much time each year when Fair Work increases pay rates.

AU Payroll | Superannuation - Set up auto payment with a credit card
Have automatic superannuation payments be able to be paid via credit card, through xero. Currently there seems to only be the ability to make automatic payment via direct debit but it would be good if it could be made by a credit card.

AU Payroll - Allow allowances to contribute towards other leave rates
With separating the All purpose allowances. Is there going to be a selection for SICK LEAVE and RDO in the future? (Currently Contributes to Annual and Overtime) only. There is a lot of room for error when you have 50 employees and you have manually adjusted the rate for every single employee!! I'm sure we are not the only company that has RDO and Sick Leave where the all-purpose allowances need to be included in the base rate. Could you please Add this option to the allowances pay item. We are unable to continue with STIP Phase 2 unless this…
