  1. When I am manually entering a contact bank account number, I find it disconcerting to be warned to enter the bank account number after I leave the BSB code field. But I HAVE to leave the BSB code field in order to move to the Bank account number field! Leaving the BSB field is not a mistake!
    I think the warning would be better triggered if you attempt to click on 'Save & close' without completing both fields.

  2. With the recent changes to MFA dropping the remember devices from 30 days to 24 hours, the MFA prompt is now far more often (which is of course more secure) however it does slow down login.

    Could you please look at updating the MFA configuration to allow push notifications to the mobile authentication app, or better still the number match, which is far more secure. Examples from Microsoft is below, but the priciple would apply in most major platforms.

    This would improve the user experiance over the token, but also improve the security overall.

  3. In the bank account settings, add an optional data field to enter in the Overdraft limit on a bank account. Then on the dashboard screen, show the net available balance of current bank balance + the undrawn Overdraft limit.

    Purpose - to save the user from having to manually calculate how much is available to make supplier/payroll payments or login to internet banking prior to check.

    Should also be a simple feature to add.

  4. To request with Xero to add in Debit Note feature, which it is issued by buyer/ purchaser to the seller where under this circumstance a debit note is given by the buyer/purchaser to the seller to reduce the total value of the bills/invoices.

    Currently, only supplier can issue credit note, but as buyer in Xero can't really generate debit note if encounter return of stock/reduce total value of purchase invoices & etc

  5. As a charity we would really like the ability to be able to have Gift Aid and reporting on Xero, otherwise we would have to get a 3rd party piece of software to run Gift Aid.
    It would be so great to be able to mark on a customers record that they allow us to claim gift aid on the monies they pay to us and then in turn for us to be able to run a report to submit to HMRC of how much Gift Aid we are able to claim from customers in others words extra income from…

    Hi Amy, although discount column may not be visible when you first use new invoicing, you can use the Show/hide fields option to choose which fields and columns are displayed - including Discount, and Save your preferences.

    Next time you create an invoice for a customer using new invoicing you'll see your field preferences from the last invoice should be in the new one. 

  8. I would love if when we merged Invoices into 1 from drafts it doesn't leave the draft that I need to manually go back and delete. This can cause double ups of Invoicing.

  9. Software Improvement Request

    Our ServiceM8 partner, Hazel Whicher, tells me that you are asking for software improvement requests.

    We frequently take advance deposits for plumbing and heating work and the Quotation/Advance Deposit management application using ServiceM8 Pay integrated with Xero is excellent and exactly what we need.

    Some customers pay us by direct bank transfer and the application would be even better if such payments could be integrated with the ServiceM8 Pay system of managing advance deposits.

    I hope that is not too difficult to achieve.

    Hi there👋, appreciate the detail you've share and that you've been directed to our forum by your ServiceM8 partner. However, as many of our app partners have built and designed their integrations with Xero themselves they are actually best placed to share this feedback with and confirm if this is something they would developing their integration with Xero to accommodate.

    This isn't something we would be looking to implement for this integration specifically from our end.

    Hiya Simona, sorry for not updating you on this sooner.

    Shortly after the release of the new report our team made a change based on feedback, so the report now shows Employee name and Date as separate columns, and the columns will be included when running the report by default.

  11. Add a warning feature to Xero, when a employee has (or will have) reached 75 years of age and is no longer allowed to salary sacrifice into their superannuation.

  12. Can we please have the report codes shown & editable on the chart of accounts page, and also through the actual reports?

    Reasons for the request:
    1. It is a logical workflow to specify how an account is to be reported when setting it up
    2. It saves having to view the report, realise a report code needs correction and then having to close the report to do this, if you can drill down straight from the report as displayed.
    3. As the account balance is shown on the Chart of Accounts page, it makes it clearer which accounts…

    Hi team, we hear you and appreciate the feedback to our last update. I'm pleased to share that now along with the previous update of the ‘Report code’ column to the Chart of Accounts page, we have also just added a button to the main Chart of Accounts screen 'Edit Report Code Mappings' which takes Xero practice users directly to the report code mapping screen.

    Taking it that next step to make it easier for practice users to update report codes for new and amended accounts in the chart of accounts. Thanks for all your support in this.

  13. As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to submit timesheets using the casual rate during the weekday and then also to be able to submit timesheets for the casual rate that applies on the weekend.

    From your idea it sounds as if you'd like employees to be able to submit timesheets with start & end times and different earnings rates, Nathan? This isn't possible atm.

    However, an option here where you're dealing with multiple earnings rates for an employee is to get them to submit timesheets using the 'Total hours worked'. This'll let them;

    • record the number of hours worked per day, including partial hours
    • record time spent at different earnings rates and tracking categories if used.

    Your employees may need to edit the timesheet setting, by opening Xero Me, going to Timesheets > Settings and selecting 'Total hours worked'.

  14. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

  15. Currently in European Countries except for the United Kingdom, the comma is used as a decimal separator not the dot.

    Europe: x.,xx i.e. €1.250,55
    UK: x,
    .xx i.e. £1,250.55

    For those Xero users invoicing to Europe countries It would be great if we could change the format of these numeric separators to better conform to European countries.

    The only ability we have at the moment to customise this is to remove the comma separator completely and have no decimal places.

  16. Dear Community,

    as we now have the W9 Request Feature with the 1099 Reporting, I would please request the same for the W8 Series for the 1042 Reporting. I know the forms are much more complex, but I experience that clients, even though reminded about the importance of gathering the W8s. Many completely disregard the Withholding requirement w/o the form.

  17. New Invoicing problem - we are copying new invoices from the existing purchase orders and prices on the new invoices are showing as a cost price instead of the sales prices! :(((. A massive issue! Also, the new invoicing look is not user friendly with a lot of space on the screen. We were very happy with the current invoicing when everything was working perfectly, and the new invoicing does not work for us at all. Dear Xero developers, please do not fix what is not broken and leave the current invoicing as it is.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback on this and I'd like to confirm that our team have implemented a change. Now, when you copy a purchase order to a draft invoice, where it includes items from your Products and services Xero will use the Sale price and account saved for that item when creating the invoice.

  18. New Invoicing - Show ABN details with Client details in the "To" section of the invoice. All other information is there for reference, excluding the ABN.
    To view the ABN details, you need to leave the invoice screen and go to Contacts.

  19. There should be an ability to set up an intercompany account using the bank feed function between businesses that are 'connected'. This would save countless hours manually journalling transactions. You should be able to create a transaction in the bank feed, or mark an invoice as paid by the intercompany account and the corresponding transaction should show on the respective other company.

  20. When adding second line items in super. If (I did this so I know it is easy) you add a second SGC line for a fixed amount as well as a statutory amount it would be great if xero asked a warning question 'are you sure you want to add a second SGC contribution. OR if just isn't allowed. My understanding is a employer additional contribution would be the correct line item if employer and salary sacrificing if employee (pre or post tax). This will avoid an accidental overpayment of SGC.
