Report Templates | Copy - Client to practice, or client to client
There are a number of Report Templates available in the Client Reports which once adapted would be good to copy either from one client to another or better still from a Client to the Practice Reports, making them available for all clients and they could then be included in Monthly Management Reports.
Currently you can only copy reports within a client or within the Practice Reports and the facility is not available to copy across from one to another

Reporting - Prepayment report
The ability to get a prepayment report.
Purpose: To see how much credit each supplier has through prepayments
8 votesThanks for your support in the idea here , and I'm pleased to share this is possible with enhancements the team have made to our Receivable and Payable Invoice Summary and Detail reports.
Click on the 'More' button and you'll see a checkbox to include Prepayments 😀 - When you've got the report all set up, save as custom. You can go as far as making this the default report view, if it suits.

Multiple Report Styles
Multiple Report Styles
It would be great to have multiple report styles for reporting where different logos and different names can be added for reporting. For example we have 2 companies using the same Xero HQ where one company does the accounting work and the other company compiles the reports so we need to publish reports with 2 different report styles and logos.
Thanks

Published report | Copy & edit - Date not refreshing in Compilation Report
When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

Reporting - Automatically update footer page range based on report page numbers
Can we get the report pack to automatically update both the footer and compilation report, based on the page range for the statement of accounting policies and notes to the financial statements. We're currently doing this manually and it leaves room for error.

AU Payroll - Include date range in exported version of Payment Summary Details report
When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

Reporting - Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts
Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts, perhaps with a tick box to show or hide the archived accounts. It makes the job of customising layouts so tedious when the old messy chart of accounts come up every time and you can’t hide the archived accounts!

AU Payroll - Report for Workers Compensation
A simple payroll report that shows the actual wages for a period for reporting for Workers Compensation as it is a legal requirement for AU businesses. Details would be split into wages paid including super, with the residency status (+country of origin for Working Holiday Makers) - with a split if an employee has changed employment basis (i.e., moved from Casual to FT) in the period.
And any additional details that are required by the majority of insurance companies who handle Workers Comp.18 votes -

Reporting: Profit and Loss report - Show all tracking categories in separate columns as default
Ability to show all tracking categories in separate columns in the P&L report.
Purpose: To get a better income figure when comparing different areas/divisions in Xero.
32 votesHi team, thanks again for all your feedback on the design and how you use tracking in your Profit & Loss.
As mentioned in my last post - we've just released a change to add the option to 'Compare tracking categories' from the main view in report settings, so you no longer have to jump into the layout editor. It's in the process of being rolled out to everyone, so if you don't quite have it yet it'll be with you in the next day or two. 😁
Once you've got the report set up as you like, if this is a view you'd like to use on the regular save as custom, and you could make this the default if you like, too!

Expense claim report for company money
Our company are making use of the "personal money" and "company money" options to submit their expense claims. There is a report to track cost paid with personal money but no report to track cost paid with the company money. This report will be critical for commission calculations.
5 votesHi Hiten, company money transactions are recorded in the organisation as Spend money. You could run the Account Transactions report for your bank accounts, and add a filter for, or group the report by source to only see spend money transactions.
In terms of commissions, we don't have a specific feature for tracking this however you could use Tracking in Xero to set up a Tracking category and each of the employees as a tracking option on that category. This way when they are entering company money transactions you could track it back to the employee by filtering by that tracking option.

While this isn't something we have plans for atm, I'll update if there is any change around this to share.

UK Payroll - Report that shows all employee's current Hourly Rates
In Sage, we used to be able to run a report that allowed us to export all our employees hourly rates, so yearly pay rises were easy to plan from.
There isn't a way to do this in Xero - so my suggestion is to have a payroll report, similar to the employee details report, that allows you to see all employees hourly rates.10 votes -
Profit & Loss report | Custom - Ability to format formulas
When using a custom Profit & Loss report in a set of Financial Statements, you are unable to format formulas to be in bold or underlined. It would be beneficial from a visibility perspective to have these in bold, so they stand out as formulas.
Can this be updated so to enable formatting at this level.

Bank reconciliation report - Set default date period
New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.
13 votesHey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields.
Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.
Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).
Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.
As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team.

UK Payroll: Reporting - Run a report to calculate holiday pay based on a 52 week average
It would be really useful for those of us in the UK if we could run a report to calculate holiday pay based on a 52 week average. Legally this has been a requirement since 2020.
50 votesHi everyone, thanks for your ongoing interest and support for this idea.
We understand the complexities surrounding calculating holiday pay for employees in the UK, and acknowledge the need to provide a helpful way to calculate an accurate rate in which to pay out their holiday.
Our product team are excited to share that this is an area we are currently looking into developing.
Your feedback and ideas are extremely important to us. As such, we’d like to reach out to our valued community members to get involved in prototype testing, commencing later this month.
The testing will involve using a prototype tool to assess the usability of a proposed way of calculating Holiday Pay in Xero. We'd encourage users that feel strongly about this area of payroll to sign up and welcome users of all experience levels.
Given the popularity of this idea we expect spaces to fill up…
