  1. An option should be added in Xero settings, company settings, to manually enter the start date (at the moment you can only enter the end year date)

    There should be an option to extend the settlement period manually in the balance sheet to generate a report.

    When a company changes status to limited in the middle of the month, the first settlement period is extended by that half of the month (e.g company start January 18, 2023, end January 31, 2024), the balance sheet should show the settlement on these dates (and not from February 1, 2023 to January 31,…

  4. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).

  5. There should be a way in the rental property summary that can be printed for all properties owned by an individual that combines them rather than a separate page for each, so that it is easier to compare the properties to one another or even just the option to download the rental schedules as a CSV.

  7. Hi there

    Just wanted to comment on the new Xero Depreciation look worst than before. I was hoping to see that there will be bulk select for disposal or delete available. It didn't improve the product but go back instead.

  8. ATO prefilling summary to include column displaying relevant Tax Return Label next to prefill information

    Example (Individual Tax Return - Bank Interest)
    Gross Interest $x,*** Label 10L

    Example (Managed Funds Distributions)
    Non primary production income amount $x,*** Label 13U

    Currently the ATO prefilling summary does not show the Tax Return Label which information will be prefilled into. Inclusion of Labels will make reconciliation between prefilling and Tax Return easier.

  9. Could xero consider reducing the size of text/fonts on the screen. I don't need super extra large enormous text to do my work. Everyone walking past or coming to speak with me can read my screen and see bank details and values, employee names and $ amount and so the list goes on. I have already asked if there can be a bland landing page so that bank accounts (Including balances) are NOT the default screen. Anyone standing nearby can see this information when Xero starts. Both of matters limit confidentiality and most users don't need this sort of exaggerated…

    Thanks for getting back to me on your needs here, Janet. I'll move the idea back to submitted as we don't have direct plans around this atm. We'll get a sense of the interest from the community here and will keep you updated if any progress is planned.

  10. Please can you generate a Expense Claim Detail Report that can also show the description details of each claim making it much easier for the client when approving expenses?

  13. I find it strange that in the past, we were able to view the final leave dates for historical employees. This feature has now disappeared, the only way to find out when somebody left, is to go to their individual record. Not very useful if you have hundreds of people on your payroll books.. Very crucial requirement for pension declarations, etc... Anybody found a way to get around this? Thanks

  14. This is minor but annoying. I am working my way through a list of draft assets and when you register each asset Xero reverts to the registered list rather than returning to the draft list. This gets very tedious when you have a lot of draft assets!

    Conversely when you are disposing of assets it reverts to the disposed assets list when it would be more efficient to revert to the registered assets list so I can dispose of the next asset.

    Aaah wait, sorry just saw this is for Workpapers not Bills in Xero, Teresa. M suggestion of the notes on a contacts record may not be as useful for this scenario.

  16. Some supplier invoices don't have a currency on them eg USD and Hubdoc enters the base currency of the organisation eg NZD - if you could assign a currency to a supplier, it would avoid having to manually change the currency on each invoice

  17. When clients have not provided the required receipts to complete bookkeeping, I always have to generate a list of expenses they need to support.
    Rather than going to the "Bank Statements" highlighting, copying, pasting unicode text to excel and filtering out "reconciled" items, I would like to just click an "export list" button from the "Reconcile" screen and have it generate the list of transactions remaining.

  18. The job budget is a key piece of information for all staff to have visibility. However the Budget field on a job is only visible if staff have Access Financial Data permissions. Giving Access Financial Data permissions allows staff to view and edit client billing details, edit practice subscription and export subscription. Surely, such wide ranging powers is not appropriate for ALL staff.

    Surely this permission should fall under the "Manage Jobs" permission matrix not under Finances permission matrix.

  19. Group Custom Fields - it would be very useful to be able to assign custom fields to groups rather than only contacts & individuals, then be able to report on these fields. This would help with areas such as marketing, estimated fee groups, and handover notes.

    We currently use the main billing entity but this would save a lot of time and improve efficiencies.

  20. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).
