  1. Would it be possible to add a field under Client for Former name/s? As ASIC agent there are multiple scenarios of where we need to enter any former names for a client. It would be great to see a field under the client where we could add their maiden name etc.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

We understand why having a dedicated place to record previous client names or aliases would be useful, especially for businesses and practices that manage long-term client relationships where details can change over time.

This idea is suggesting the ability to store historical names directly on a client record, so teams can keep a clearer record of changes without losing access to previous details.

We’ll continue to track feedback and interest from the community around this. Please keep sharing your workflows and use cases here, as this helps us understand where improvements could provide the most value.

Appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Tax Manager beta, Serge. Our product team are paying close attention to the feedback we're receiving on this to understand how we can keep developing this experience. I'll be sure to share if there are any plans for providing this visibility of the status of a return.

Thanks for sharing, Rhys. It'd be good to get an understanding of other practices that'd also find this helpful.

Be sure to share your idea here with others in your practice that'd find this helpful so they can add their vote too. 🙂

  4. All individual Clients created should automatically be added as a contact and that contact should by linked to the client record. If you change the client detail that "new" contact that is linked should be auto updated. (in short an individual customer/contact is not "duplicated"). If you send mails from a job you can then use that client automaticly as a contact and do not have to create a contact

Hey Louis, thanks for bringing this up! Having client info in both the Partner Hub and your practice contacts gives you flexibility, but it would be even smoother if updates could flow automatically between them.

Right now, exporting your client list from the Hub and importing it into your practice contacts is a simple way to refresh records in bulk. It’s a handy way to keep everything up to date.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so the product team can see how helpful a more connected, unified experience would be for Partners.

Hi Natalie, appreciate your idea about including prior year returns in the Ready to Start list. We can see how this could make workflows in Tax Manager a bit more straightforward.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for the community to vote and comment. Hearing how others might use this helps us understand the broader need.

Our Product team is interested in more ideas for Tax Manager, so if you or others have thoughts on ways to improve it, feel free to share them. Thanks for getting the conversation going.

Hi team, we appreciate your engagement on this idea.

We’re just circling back to share a quick update as it’s been a little while. We’ve checked in with our product teams, and this isn’t data that IRD currently provides access to. Because of that, it’s not something we’re able to support right now.

If this changes in the future, it may be something we can revisit, but we want to set the right expectation here for now. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the new Partner Hub timer experience. This is essential for the Product team to glean what is working and what is not. We have moved this to Gaining Support so others can comment and vote on this idea and if there are any updates we will mention them here.

  8. Previously, the tab colours were green when in XPM and blue when in a tax return, which was a really helpful visual cue.

Now that all tabs are black/grey, it’s much harder to quickly distinguish between them, especially when working across multiple tabs and jumping between information and returns.

Would it be possible to reintroduce a different tab colour when in a tax return?

Hi Gabby, thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's clear that when multiple tabs are open, it can be easy to lose track of which tab is the client tax return.

Adding clearer visual cues like colour-coding or more distinct tab titles could help you move between Tax and Practice areas more confidently.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can gauge the interest from the community.

  9. In the middle of the old XPM home page we had a clear visual of a two week calendar showing assigned jobs and upcoming milestones.

This was very useful and was good quick visual reminder to action any of days jobs or milestones as well as any forth coming jobs and milestones.

Although there is an assigned jobs summary on the homepage of the new XPM there is no milestone reminder visual and as a practice which uses job milestones heavily it is very much missed.

Can it be reinstated please, Im sure there is room on the new home…

Thanks for feeding back to us here. We understand for practices that do use schedules that this view can be quite useful. To be transparent this widget had relatively low usage in Xero Practice Manager and we don't have plans for developing a specific widget for this in Xero Partner Hub.

That said, you can still get to this view from within Jobs under Job schedule, and it's possible to add a custom link to the homepage in the Quick Actions widget to make navigating here more efficient🙂

  10. The ability to create or show BAS statements in the tax manager would be good - you used to be able to create them from the tax tab but now I have to go into the client themselves and click create. Or just some way to make this easier overall - whether you have a BAS section in the Tax Manager, or a create statement button up the top.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that including Business Activity Statements (BAS) in Tax Manager would make it much easier to track all your clients’ obligations in one place.

At the moment, activity statements are managed separately in Xero Tax, so you’ll need to navigate to that section to track and update them. We can see how bringing everything into a single view would make your workflow more efficient.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams.

  11. Currently you have to go into a client to see notes relating to that client. It would be useful to have an option to see all notes, by client.

Hi Cormac, thanks for bringing this idea to the community.

We can see how a centralised view of client notes could make it easier to keep track of updates across your client base and help teams stay aligned without needing to open individual client records.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue monitoring interest and gathering feedback on how this could support your practice workflows.

Hi team, we recognise that staying on top of disconnected or expiring bank feeds is important for keeping workflows running smoothly.

We hear that having a dedicated view or alert on the Practice Homepage would make it easier to manage bank feed refresh across clients, rather than only picking up issues when working in a specific file.

This is now in Gaining Support so we can gather interest and share how this could make day-to-day practice management easier.

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion. We understand the need to quickly distinguish between other client type and a trustee.

Right now, this is often managed with naming conventions or custom fields, which aren’t always easy to see at a glance.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product team how a dedicated “Trustee” indicator could improve the Client List experience.

  14. Please add "Search Function" under the client Jobs - same as in the job manager in order to search for specific "current" and "archived" jobs, the sort function is not sufficient.

  15. In the old XPM when removing a client’s GST registration you could delete the GST registration with one tick and save. In the new XPM when you untick ‘include GST information’, the GST information greys out and it lets you save but this does not remove the GST registration information. You have to clear the other fields first, then untick ‘include GST information’ and save. Why can’t you just untick ‘include GST information’ and it be removed from view on the client information screen? Or at least be given a warning that the change you’ve made isn’t correct when you…

    Hi there!

Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.

I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.

Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.

I’ve moved your post into Gaining Support under the title: XPM - Suggestion for improvement: Simplify GST registration removal workflow

By moving this here, other XPM users can vote on the idea, which helps our product teams prioritize making this workflow more intuitive—like adding a warning or an auto-clear function when the box is unticked.

  16. For boxes that we are typing into, we need to expand the box, so we can see the full view, not a scrolling box that cuts information off. In the normal XPM, you can grasp the corner and expand it out. Please bring this back.

Hi Glennis, after looking into this further, it sounds like this relates to the Notes field within a client’s record.

At the moment, the field expands as you type, but after several lines it stops expanding and instead introduces a scroll bar. This means reviewing and updating notes involves additional scrolling, particularly when working with a lengthy note.

This idea has now been updated to Gaining Support, and we’d encourage others in the community to share their thoughts, use cases, or vote if this would be valuable for them too. Thanks again for starting the conversation, your input helps shape future improvements.

  17. 7th July 2026

In the legacy XPM dashboard, the red "Overdue Items" hyperlinks positioned above the Important Dates calendar provided critical, instant visibility into outstanding team work. In the new beta dashboard, this clear indicator has been partially removed and now only reports on overdue jobs but not tasks or milestones.

We generally have one main job per client for a whole year with tasks that are scheduled and assigned and milestones attached to this job.

Our practice faces a massive problem if the "Overdue items" are permanently removed as not all overdue items are reported on in the same…

  18. I propose introducing a “Staff Dashboard” that provides a simple weekly view of each staff member’s timesheet, showing what they worked on and how many hours were recorded. For each job, it should also show the total hours spent by the individual, the total hours on the engagement, and the budgeted hours. This would allow managers to quickly understand both staff activity and whether jobs are running within budget.

In addition, there should be better reporting to compare similar jobs across periods, helping identify inefficiencies and improve pricing. Overall, timesheet reporting needs to be more practical and insightful, as time…

Hi Amy, thanks for taking the time to share this idea.

It sounds like being able to see the dollar value of Work in Progress (WIP) directly within the Jobs list would give much better visibility over workload and billing readiness. Having unbilled time and costs displayed at a glance, without needing to open each job or run a separate report, would make it easier to quickly spot what’s ready to invoice.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how adding a WIP value column could support a smoother billing workflow and clearer visibility across jobs.

  20. Activity Statements Widget, it would be able to click on the columns and got to a filtered view of the activity statements. Also it would be good to be able to filter by partner/manager. On of the big issues with auto created BAS/IAS is the is not parter/manager assigned to them if we could get a filter for partner/manager based on the partner/manager set in the client file it would be fantastic.

Hi everyone, it’s helpful to hear that the Activity Statements widget could do more to support quick oversight. Being able to filter by Partner or Manager and click through to those filtered views sounds like it would make it much easier to stay on top of workloads and keep deadlines visible across the practice.

For now, a good option is to run the full Activity Statement report and use the filters there to drill into specific staff portfolios.

I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and help our product teams see the value of adding more interactivity and staff-level filtering here.
