  1. XPH colour - can we have something a little more lively then grey? Tax isn't all that exciting as it is and the grey instead of the green that it used to be (or even a nice blue) just feels a little torturous

Thanks for your feedback, Gabrielle. This isn't something we have direct plans of changing atm, however it'll be good to get a feel of interest around from your idea here. We'll keep an eye out and share if there are any updates.

  2. Customisable graph/table colours would be excellent, even if it were just 2 or 3 preset options. The blue/red default is a bit harsh.

Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestion! We understand that having more control over how your dashboard data looks would make it easier to interpret your practice’s performance at a glance. Customising graph and table colours isn’t just about aesthetics—it helps the data stand out in a way that fits your reporting needs or brand.

We know that adding more flexibility here would make it easier to focus on the metrics that matter most. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams how visual customization could enhance your daily experience in Xero Practice Manager.

Thanks for your feedback here, Ruby. We'll start to get a track of the interest in this through your idea here, as our product team continue to make improvements to the homepage. I'll be sure to let you know if there are any plans made.

  4. Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.

In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.

Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…

Hi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.

Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support to see how much wider interest there is.

  5. We have come across a couple of issues with how a Xero subscription has been set up for MTD and pulling the data across into Xero partnerhub.

Some of our clients have more than one self-employment and use tracking categories to split the income and expenses for both MTD obligations. I have tried to prepare their 2025/26 tax return but its pulling through the data into one self-employment trade rather than the two that HMRC is expecting.

We have other clients that have share rentals, ie 50% each, MTD has an option to split the income and expenses between the…

  6. We had this issue with the original XPM where the signing by the client and signing by the partner are in the same "to sign" step. There should be a step for "out to sign" with the client so returns aren't accidentally lodged that haven't received the client's signature.

Thanks for bringing this idea to the community, Casey.

Having the option to choose the date range shown in the Time Summary widget could make it easier to review time over the periods that matter most to your team, without needing to switch to other areas of Xero Partner Hub.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If you'd like to see this added, please continue to vote and share how you'd use custom date ranges in your day-to-day workflow.

  9. When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job. This is not very efficient and is…

Hi Lisa, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that these friction points in the timesheet entry process are leading to extra steps that slow things down.

We hear you that things like the date resetting to Monday can disrupt your efficiency.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product team how improving these defaults and navigation could make time entry smoother and more efficient.

  10. It now takes multiple menus to get to the enter timesheets page. This should be a one click access from the Home page like it was in the old XPM.

Hi Catherine, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

As mentioned in the community, you can currently access this from the Home Page via the View Timesheet option in the Time Summary widget. That said, we do understand that a one-click shortcut will be more convenient and visible.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how this kind of shortcut could improve day-to-day time entry.

  11. When you save a timesheet entry as draft, then next option of discard or save is very close together so if you don't move your cursor to the right to click on save you may inadvertently discard the timesheet entry. I think the discard option needs to be moved somewhere else.

Hi everyone — thanks for flagging this! It’s clear the “Discard” button’s current spot is causing a few accidental clicks, especially after you’ve just entered your time. Losing your work like that is frustrating, and we get how it turns a quick task into extra effort.

I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many of you are affected. Your votes and comments help the team understand the impact, so please keep sharing — the more feedback, the easier it is to make the layout safer and smoother.

Appreciate the feedback, Ben. We'd like to track the interest in this spelling through your idea here. Both ways of spelling this are correct and 'lodgments' currently aligns with how ATO's spelling of this.

  13. It would be useful as a business owner to be able to access our firms blue xero file directly from the new homepage, similar to how we can for clients and there blue files.

Hi Kat, thank you for the suggestion! A shortcut to your enabled practice organisation could cut down on repetitive clicks and speed up everyday tasks. We understand that partners often need quick access, so a single-click option makes sense.

For now, the closest workaround is the Organisation Switcher’s “Recent” list or a browser bookmark for your practice dashboard. These give faster access while the homepage doesn’t yet have a dedicated button.

We’ve moved this idea to ‘Gaining Support’ so our product team can track interest in a direct shortcut from the homepage.

    Hi Jacqui,

Thanks for this suggestion! I’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support.

Currently, the Projects widget on the dashboard only shows a handful of your most recent or active jobs. If you have a larger list, you have to click away from the dashboard to see them all.

I can see how a scrollable list would be a huge benefit for project managers who want to keep an eye on everything from one screen! I’ve updated the title to "Projects - Suggestion for scrollable or expandable jobs list on the Dashboard widget" to help other members find and vote for it.

Quick Tip for now: Don't forget that you can also use the JAX (Just Ask Xero) assistant on your dashboard. You can ask "Show me the status of [Project Name]" to get a quick update without leaving the page while we wait for more votes on this idea!

  15. A way to update how many hours left per week are shown on the dashboard would be good. I know a lot more people work flexibly, and this way they could see how many hours below the total required they are (e.g. 38 hours per week). Just makes it easier when you're managing time during the week

Thanks for sharing your idea with us!

I’ve had a look through your suggestion, and I can definitely see how a "hours remaining" tracker would be a huge help for those of us balancing flexible schedules.

I’ve assessed your post against our community criteria and have moved it to Gaining Support. This means other members can now vote on it and share their own feedback, which helps our product teams understand the demand for this feature.

To make it easier for others to find and support your idea, I’ve updated the title slightly to: Dashboard - Weekly hours remaining widget

In the meantime, while we don't have a live tracker on the main dashboard, you might find the Xero Me mobile app or the Projects tab useful for keeping a closer eye on your logged time during the week.

We’ll keep an eye on how much interest this gains…

  16. The Timesheet Entry pop up on the right side of the page, Cannot be minimised outside of the Home page screen. So if you toggle to a client or to correct a job and happen to have not closed it, you can't then close it without returning to the main home screen. Despite the Cross in the corner, this appears not to work.

  17. The beta has "Recent Organisations" in the dropdown under the practice name, but nothing is coming up and there is no ability to search.

Please can we have this reinstated - I don't want to have to go to the clients screen or Xero HQ to get to a client's Xero file every time I open up XPM

Great to hear the different uses our Partners are thinking of with Insights, Sam. Appreciate your feedback.

Right now we're gauging interest from the community here but I'll let you know if there are any updates coming that'd help with this view for you.

Thanks for the feedback, Jo. It's good to hear how more filter and save options within Tax Manager would be useful for your practice.

We'll share if there are any plans made to enable this here.

  20. Currently, custom fields can be created in XPM but can't be added as columns in Tax Manager or Job Manager list views. This means practices have to open each job individually, or export to Excel or run a custom report, just to see custom field data alongside standard job information. This has already been raised for Job Manager, where practices have asked for the same thing since 2023.

We'd like the option to select which custom fields appear as columns in these list views, the same way custom fields already work in the Clients list.

    Example use case: Many practices…

Really appreciate the insight and use case you've provided on why you'd like to be able to add custom fields within Tax Manager here.

Developing this options within Tax Manager and Job Manager would most likely be done separately and we have another idea around being able to add these within Job Manager that users can vote for - Michelle as you raised the detail here I've already added your vote to the other idea so you're kept in the loop there, too.

We're just getting a gauge of the interest for now, but I'll share if there are any updates here.
