  2. Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.

    In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.

    Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…

    Hi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.

    Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.

    Appreciate the feedback, Ben. We'd like to track the interest in this spelling through your idea here. Both ways of spelling this are correct and 'lodgments' currently aligns with how ATO's spelling of this.

    Thanks for this suggestion! I’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support.


    Currently, the Projects widget on the dashboard only shows a handful of your most recent or active jobs. If you have a larger list, you have to click away from the dashboard to see them all.


    I can see how a scrollable list would be a huge benefit for project managers who want to keep an eye on everything from one screen! I’ve updated the title to "Projects - Suggestion for scrollable or expandable jobs list on the Dashboard widget" to help other members find and vote for it.


    Quick Tip for now: Don't forget that you can also use the JAX (Just Ask Xero) assistant on your dashboard. You can ask "Show me the status of [Project Name]" to get a quick update without leaving the page while we wait for more votes on this idea!

  5. The Timesheet Entry pop up on the right side of the page, Cannot be minimised outside of the Home page screen. So if you toggle to a client or to correct a job and happen to have not closed it, you can't then close it without returning to the main home screen. Despite the Cross in the corner, this appears not to work.

  6. It would be great to see which clients still needed their GST returns filed by a specific due date. This way we could preempt any returns not filed before the due date.

  7. Currently you have to go into a client to see notes relating to that client. It would be useful to have an option to see all notes, by client.

  8. When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job.     Hi Lisa, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that these friction points in the timesheet entry process are leading to extra steps that slow things down.

    We hear you that things like the date resetting to Monday can disrupt your efficiency.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product team how improving these defaults and navigation could make time entry smoother and more efficient.

  9. Activity Statements Widget, it would be able to click on the columns and got to a filtered view of the activity statements. Also it would be good to be able to filter by partner/manager. On of the big issues with auto created BAS/IAS is the is not parter/manager assigned to them if we could get a filter for partner/manager based on the partner/manager set in the client file it would be fantastic.

    Hi everyone, it’s helpful to hear that the Activity Statements widget could do more to support quick oversight. Being able to filter by Partner or Manager and click through to those filtered views sounds like it would make it much easier to stay on top of workloads and keep deadlines visible across the practice.

    For now, a good option is to run the full Activity Statement report and use the filters there to drill into specific staff portfolios.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and help our product teams see the value of adding more interactivity and staff-level filtering here.

  10. have a button within the 'ready to start' screen that requests the income tax client report list (per article: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Income-Tax-Client-report#ViewtheIncomeTaxClientreportdetailsinReportBuilder), and the ability to bring in all the client tax returns ready to file (where not already brought in)

    We appreciate you sharing this idea, Bec! We understand that having to leave the Tax Manager just to pull a client report can slow you down when you’re ready to work on a return. A direct "Request Report" button on the Ready to Start screen would make the pre-filing process more seamless and help you stay focused.

    Currently, the workaround is to open a separate tab or go to the Reports menu to run the Income Tax Client report manually. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this simple shortcut could speed up your tax preparation workflow.

  11. When you save a timesheet entry as draft, then next option of discard or save is very close together so if you don't move your cursor to the right to click on save you may inadvertently discard the timesheet entry. I think the discard option needs to be moved somewhere else.

    Hi Kat, thank you for the suggestion! A shortcut to your enabled practice organisation could cut down on repetitive clicks and speed up everyday tasks. We understand that partners often need quick access, so a single-click option makes sense.

    For now, the closest workaround is the Organisation Switcher’s “Recent” list or a browser bookmark for your practice dashboard. These give faster access while the homepage doesn’t yet have a dedicated button.

    We’ve moved this idea to ‘Gaining Support’ so our product team can track interest in a direct shortcut from the homepage.

  14. A way to update how many hours left per week are shown on the dashboard would be good. I know a lot more people work flexibly, and this way they could see how many hours below the total required they are (e.g. 38 hours per week). Just makes it easier when you're managing time during the week

    I’ve had a look through your suggestion, and I can definitely see how a "hours remaining" tracker would be a huge help for those of us balancing flexible schedules.


    I’ve assessed your post against our community criteria and have moved it to Gaining Support. This means other members can now vote on it and share their own feedback, which helps our product teams understand the demand for this feature.


    To make it easier for others to find and support your idea, I’ve updated the title slightly to: Dashboard - Weekly hours remaining widget


    In the meantime, while we don't have a live tracker on the main dashboard, you might find the Xero Me mobile app or the Projects tab useful for keeping a closer eye on your logged time during the week.

    We’ll keep an eye on how much interest this gains…

  15. The beta has "Recent Organisations" in the dropdown under the practice name, but nothing is coming up and there is no ability to search.

    Please can we have this reinstated - I don't want to have to go to the clients screen or Xero HQ to get to a client's Xero file every time I open up XPM

  18. Following the implmentation of Practice Hub we are now able to add the mobile number for a client - which is fantastic, however, there is no mobile field in the reporting options. So if a client has a mobile number and we enter that, when we run a report the mobile number does not show as the only field available is phone. Seems to me that there is no point in having mobile as an option if you can't view it on a report. Makes it look like the client has no number. Is this something which could be added…

  20. The help and notifications buttons should be in a separate section. It is more user friendly to have just the search, timesheet and JAX buttons in the top right of the screen.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestion. We get that as more tools are added to the practice header, things can start to feel a bit crowded.

    Separating Help and Notifications from your main action buttons could create a cleaner layout and make it easier to focus on the tools you use most often.
