XPH – Add Client Activity Toolbar
Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.
In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.
Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…
3 votesHi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.
Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support to see how much wider interest there is.

XPH - Add a direct shortcut to enabled practice from the homepage
It would be useful as a business owner to be able to access our firms blue xero file directly from the new homepage, similar to how we can for clients and there blue files.
3 votesHi Kat, thank you for the suggestion! A shortcut to your enabled practice organisation could cut down on repetitive clicks and speed up everyday tasks. We understand that partners often need quick access, so a single-click option makes sense.
For now, the closest workaround is the Organisation Switcher’s “Recent” list or a browser bookmark for your practice dashboard. These give faster access while the homepage doesn’t yet have a dedicated button.
We’ve moved this idea to ‘Gaining Support’ so our product team can track interest in a direct shortcut from the homepage.

Projects - Suggestion for scrollable or expandable jobs list on the Dashboard widget
Ability to scroll through jobs on Dashboard.
List in Widget to be able to scroll through.
3 votesHi Jacqui,
Thanks for this suggestion! I’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support.
Currently, the Projects widget on the dashboard only shows a handful of your most recent or active jobs. If you have a larger list, you have to click away from the dashboard to see them all.
I can see how a scrollable list would be a huge benefit for project managers who want to keep an eye on everything from one screen! I’ve updated the title to "Projects - Suggestion for scrollable or expandable jobs list on the Dashboard widget" to help other members find and vote for it.
Quick Tip for now: Don't forget that you can also use the JAX (Just Ask Xero) assistant on your dashboard. You can ask "Show me the status of [Project Name]" to get a quick update without leaving the page while we wait for more votes on this idea!

Dashboard - Weekly hours remaining widget
A way to update how many hours left per week are shown on the dashboard would be good. I know a lot more people work flexibly, and this way they could see how many hours below the total required they are (e.g. 38 hours per week). Just makes it easier when you're managing time during the week
3 votesThanks for sharing your idea with us!
I’ve had a look through your suggestion, and I can definitely see how a "hours remaining" tracker would be a huge help for those of us balancing flexible schedules.
I’ve assessed your post against our community criteria and have moved it to Gaining Support. This means other members can now vote on it and share their own feedback, which helps our product teams understand the demand for this feature.
To make it easier for others to find and support your idea, I’ve updated the title slightly to: Dashboard - Weekly hours remaining widget
In the meantime, while we don't have a live tracker on the main dashboard, you might find the Xero Me mobile app or the Projects tab useful for keeping a closer eye on your logged time during the week.
We’ll keep an eye on how much interest this gains…

Xero Tax NZ - Company Annual Returns Date
The company annual returns field is showing December and January as options to select. Annual returns are only filed with the companies office from February to November so December and January should not appear in this list.
3 votesThank you for sharing your feedback about the selectable months for company annual returns in Xero Tax NZ. We appreciate you taking the time to raise this idea. We’re moving this suggestion to the “Gaining Support” stage to invite further feedback and votes from the community. This helps us understand the level of interest and impact as we continue to review ideas for future consideration.

XPH - Ability to minimise Timesheet Entry from any page
The Timesheet Entry pop up on the right side of the page, Cannot be minimised outside of the Home page screen. So if you toggle to a client or to correct a job and happen to have not closed it, you can't then close it without returning to the main home screen. Despite the Cross in the corner, this appears not to work.
3 votesThanks for the feedback, Francisca - By chance have you raised this with our Xero Support team to take a closer look into as sounds more like a bug if the option is not working, and they have tools to be able to investigate.
Either way I've shared this back with our product team and will let you know if there are any updates on this here.

Xero Partner Hub - Access to Job from Timer
I use the timer, it would be great to be able to access the job from the timer menu rather than opening job manager.
3 votesThanks for your feedback, Mel. Good to be getting this feedback on the improvements that could make Xero Partner Hub better for you 😊
I've shared this back with product and I'll let you know if there are any updates.

XPM: Practice - Timesheets: Enter Timesheet: Improved date defaulting and navigation when editing entries
When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job. This is not very efficient and is…
2 votesHi Lisa, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that these friction points in the timesheet entry process are leading to extra steps that slow things down.
We hear you that things like the date resetting to Monday can disrupt your efficiency.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product team how improving these defaults and navigation could make time entry smoother and more efficient.

XPH - Declutter header by separating Help/Notifications from other action buttons
The help and notifications buttons should be in a separate section. It is more user friendly to have just the search, timesheet and JAX buttons in the top right of the screen.
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for the suggestion. We get that as more tools are added to the practice header, things can start to feel a bit crowded.
Separating Help and Notifications from your main action buttons could create a cleaner layout and make it easier to focus on the tools you use most often.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product team how this could improve clarity and everyday usability in Xero Partner Hub.

XPM - Staff Monitoring - Staff timesheets
I propose introducing a “Staff Dashboard” that provides a simple weekly view of each staff member’s timesheet, showing what they worked on and how many hours were recorded. For each job, it should also show the total hours spent by the individual, the total hours on the engagement, and the budgeted hours. This would allow managers to quickly understand both staff activity and whether jobs are running within budget.
In addition, there should be better reporting to compare similar jobs across periods, helping identify inefficiencies and improve pricing. Overall, timesheet reporting needs to be more practical and insightful, as time…
2 votesThank you for taking the time to share such a great idea ✨ We’ve moved this to ‘Gaining support’ so it can gather votes and comments from other practices, which we use to help shape our product roadmap. All you need to do now is get friends and colleagues to vote and/or comment.

XPH - Multiple Master Admin
Multiple Master Admin
We need to have the option of multiple master admin! I am in a small practice and it makes it quite difficult to not have the few directors have then same access.
2 votesHi Jocelyn, appreciate the suggestion. Relying on a single Master Admin can create a bottleneck and adds risk if that person is unavailable. We understand that allowing multiple Master Admins would help share responsibility and improve continuity across the practice.
At the moment, Master Admin role is limited to one user. However, you can look into the Administrator role for the meantime. I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share it with our product teams.

XPH | Tax Manager - Waiting on information tab
add a waiting on information tab in XPM tax screen which is linked to the suspended button in return
2 votesThanks for sharing your idea, Sharelle. We have a close eye on the feedback we're receiving about new Tax Manager. If there is any progress for this we will share with you here.

XPH - Practice-wide Billable Hours widget with Client dollar-value breakdown
On the billable hours widget add the ability to show billable hours for all staff, also to show by client and the timeframe should be daily, weekly, monthly
2 votesHi team, thanks for outlining this suggestion.Having a clear view of billable hours alongside a client-level dollar breakdown would make it easier to stay across how the practice is tracking day to day. Seeing that information directly in the dashboard would also help connect time spent with value, without needing to jump between reports.
Right now, the closest way to get this view is by running the Billable Time report.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and give our product teams a better sense of how helpful this would be in practice.

XPH - Add a "WIP Value ($)" column to the Jobs list
Can a column be added to see the WIP value in $dollars rather than a percent, this makes it a lot clearer to see time spent on a job.
2 votesHi Amy, thanks for taking the time to share this idea.
It sounds like being able to see the dollar value of Work in Progress (WIP) directly within the Jobs list would give much better visibility over workload and billing readiness. Having unbilled time and costs displayed at a glance, without needing to open each job or run a separate report, would make it easier to quickly spot what’s ready to invoice.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how adding a WIP value column could support a smoother billing workflow and clearer visibility across jobs.

XPH - feature to suspend client licenses for payment arrears
Just like many other partners, we pay subscriptions on behalf of our customers. It will be very usefull that Xero permit suspends a client's license when they have not paid.
Example, in many times we need to pay all licenses to prevent Xero suspend all licenses, so in that case Xero suspend licences for some customer, even those customers that paid on time. Otherwise, Partner has obligation to pay on time all licenses, so is very complicated suspend license for a few customers, that not pay on time.
for now we change user role to user read only, so in…
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for raising this suggestion. It’s clear that managing practice cash flow is a key priority, and having a way to handle client access when accounts are overdue would help streamline credit control. We hear that manually adjusting permissions or subscriptions in these situations can take time, and a more centralised approach would be helpful.
As noted in the thread, the current process involves manually updating client or staff permissions, or adjusting subscription settings where needed.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how a more formal suspension or control option could support better accounts receivable management.

XPH | Home Page open in a new tab when working on a tax return
Previously in XPM, if you were in a client's tax return, you could select the XPM option from the dropdown menu under your practice name and it would open a brand new tab and take you back to the Dashboard.
Currently, the new partner tab no longer has this feature (for obvious reasons), and when you click Home, rather than opening a new tab, it takes you away from the tax return returning you to what used to be the Dashboard page (now the Home page).
It's minor I know, but it's been a pain point most of today for…2 votesHi Karen, thanks for sharing this suggestion. It’s clear that having the Home Page open in a new tab while working on a tax return would make it easier to quickly check the dashboard without interrupting your flow. Being able to keep your place in a return while referencing other information sounds like a helpful way to stay efficient.
As mentioned in the thread, you can currently right click the Home link and select “Open in new tab” as a workaround. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of making this behaviour more seamless during tax prep.

XPH - Ability to customise banner colour
XPH colour - can we have something a little more lively then grey? Tax isn't all that exciting as it is and the grey instead of the green that it used to be (or even a nice blue) just feels a little torturous
2 votesThanks for your feedback, Gabrielle. This isn't something we have direct plans of changing atm, however it'll be good to get a feel of interest around from your idea here. We'll keep an eye out and share if there are any updates.

XPH - Allow late-entered time to be retrospectively linked to an existing invoice (without rebilling or write-offs)
Allow late-entered time to be retrospectively linked to an existing invoice (without rebilling or write-offs)
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that when time is entered after an invoice has already been sent, not being able to link it back cleanly can create extra work. It’s important that your history accurately reflects the time spent against the right invoice, even if it’s added later.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams how this kind of retrospective linking could help keep job costing tidy.

XPH - Include dash when copying IRD number from client record
Love that you can copy the IRD number from the client page, however, the paste function has changed and no longer keeps the dashes when pasting to other software / programmes. It did for a while but no longer does.
It does keep it in the IRD website but not in excel, word or ACC for example.
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that when copying an IRD number, having to manually add the dash each time can be a small but recurring friction point. Those extra steps can add up, and it would be much easier if the number copied exactly as it appears on the client record.
At the moment, the system copies the raw digits only, which often means reformatting depending on where you paste it. We can see how matching the displayed format would streamline day-to-day admin tasks.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams.

XPH | Clients - Add a "Groups" tab to the Clients section
Add a Group Tab for all clients in a group
2 votesHi Jess, thanks for sharing this idea! Right now, having to search or click through multiple screens can slow things down, so we love the idea of a more central view.
In the meantime, you can see the groups a client belongs to in the Information tab on their record (in the box on the right-hand side).
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find a dedicated Groups tab useful. Keep the votes and comments coming — your input really helps the product team understand the difference this could make!
