  1. Has the ability to attach clients in the additional contact field in XPM been removed. I am no longer able to select an existing client to add to the additional contact on another clients record in XPM. If so why, this was great.

    Hey Christopher — thanks for suggesting this! Making it easier to add additional contacts to client records in XPH would be a really handy improvement and could save a lot of time.

    Right now, it’s done manually, but a smoother approach would make managing client info quicker and simpler.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find it useful.

  2. The timer icon looks almost just like a circle, the hour hand is tiny, it's barely distinguishable from the magnifying glass next to it, so it's hard to know what it means. How about using a picture of a stopwatch or copy the icon used by the iphone.

  4. When the client contact details have been imported in this change (specifically businesses or entities), it has brought in every client address, now on some client profiles, it shows 4 of the same street address and 4 of the same postal address. Could this return to show only one of each to reduce the repetition and confusion.

    Hi Briony, appreciate your sharing here! We can see how removing the duplicate address would make client profiles feel simpler and more streamlined. When you’re managing a large number of clients, every bit of clarity on the screen helps you focus on what matters most.

    Having the same address listed twice can make profiles feel cluttered and, occasionally, create confusion if one gets updated and the other doesn’t. A cleaner view that only shows unique information would make it easier to scan and manage client details.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so our product teams can see how valuable a more streamlined client profile would be.

    Since there’s currently no way to toggle date ranges directly within that dashboard widget, I’ve classified this as Gaining Support to see how much interest it gathers from the rest of the community.

  6. Previously the Client Code showed in the address bar (i.e. 8 digit number unique to the client). We could then add the number to the Client Code field under each client. This number is used to sync the client to external apps integrated with XPM (i.e. FYI Docs) This has now gone! The address has changed. How do we find the client code when setting up a new client now to enable accurate syncing??

    Thank you for raising this!


    With the recent updates to the interface and URL structures, that "shortcut" isn't as visible as it used to be. I’ve assessed your suggestion and moved it to Gaining Support.


    It’s a great piece of feedback because it highlights how a small UI change can have a big impact on your workflow with integrated apps.


    I’ve also updated the title to Practice Tools - Display Client Code in the Client record header to help other practice users find and vote for it.


    A quick tip for now: While it's not as fast as the address bar, you can still find and edit that code by clicking Edit Details within the client record.

  7. It would be good to have the ability to quickly update the due date of a job either directly from the XPH homepage under the 'Jobs assigned to me as staff' or from the client 'Jobs' section without having to go into each job and edit the due date. Or both options would be great too!

    Thanks for this suggestion! I’ve moved your idea into Gaining Support.


    Currently, the Projects widget on the dashboard only shows a handful of your most recent or active jobs. If you have a larger list, you have to click away from the dashboard to see them all.


    I can see how a scrollable list would be a huge benefit for project managers who want to keep an eye on everything from one screen! I’ve updated the title to "Projects - Suggestion for scrollable or expandable jobs list on the Dashboard widget" to help other members find and vote for it.


    Quick Tip for now: Don't forget that you can also use the JAX (Just Ask Xero) assistant on your dashboard. You can ask "Show me the status of [Project Name]" to get a quick update without leaving the page while we wait for more votes on this idea!

  10. Job Notifications - new notifications do not open up until you open an existing job (so we do not know that they are even there until you open the job)..Suggest Job Notifications should open when entering Job Manager (i.e. One level up).

  11. The beta has "Recent Organisations" in the dropdown under the practice name, but nothing is coming up and there is no ability to search.

    Please can we have this reinstated - I don't want to have to go to the clients screen or Xero HQ to get to a client's Xero file every time I open up XPM

  12. When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job.   13. Workpapers - Notes
    I (eventually) found how to export notes, but (1) when I export I would like to include the Account Name as well as the account code. Otherwise the queries would need to be worded with more detail in them.
    (2) The format of the report could be improved - it already has "Client Query" as a heading, that doesn't need to be repeated on every single query.
    (3) Also hoping these will be exportable to Xero Ask or some format that allows a response by the client to be attached to the specific query.

  15. I propose introducing a “Staff Dashboard” that provides a simple weekly view of each staff member’s timesheet, showing what they worked on and how many hours were recorded. For each job, it should also show the total hours spent by the individual, the total hours on the engagement, and the budgeted hours. This would allow managers to quickly understand both staff activity and whether jobs are running within budget.

    In addition, there should be better reporting to compare similar jobs across periods, helping identify inefficiencies and improve pricing. Overall, timesheet reporting needs to be more practical and insightful, as time…

  19. Currently, when a client is archived, custom fields continue to show up in a customised report (even when "Exclude Archived Clients" is selected). Please ensure that when creating a report relating to custom fields, and selecting "Exclude archived clients", that the custom fields of archived clients don't show up in the report.

  20. Tax manager has three tabs under Filed returns 'all', 'filed' and 'archived'. Historically, I have always archived my returns in XPM once they are sucessfully filed / paid. I can still easily do that under the 'Returns' menu - but not under Tax Manager. I need to open the individual return to archive it.
