  1. XPH colour - can we have something a little more lively then grey? Tax isn't all that exciting as it is and the grey instead of the green that it used to be (or even a nice blue) just feels a little torturous

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that when time is entered after an invoice has already been sent, not being able to link it back cleanly can create extra work. It’s important that your history accurately reflects the time spent against the right invoice, even if it’s added later.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product teams how this kind of retrospective linking could help keep job costing tidy.

  3. Love that you can copy the IRD number from the client page, however, the paste function has changed and no longer keeps the dashes when pasting to other software / programmes. It did for a while but no longer does.

    It does keep it in the IRD website but not in excel, word or ACC for example.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that when copying an IRD number, having to manually add the dash each time can be a small but recurring friction point. Those extra steps can add up, and it would be much easier if the number copied exactly as it appears on the client record.

    At the moment, the system copies the raw digits only, which often means reformatting depending on where you paste it. We can see how matching the displayed format would streamline day-to-day admin tasks.

    Hi Jess, thanks for sharing this idea! Right now, having to search or click through multiple screens can slow things down, so we love the idea of a more central view.

    In the meantime, you can see the groups a client belongs to in the Information tab on their record (in the box on the right-hand side).

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find a dedicated Groups tab useful. Keep the votes and comments coming — your input really helps the product team understand the difference this could make!

    Hi Stacey, we can see how much time being able to customise the Quick Action menu would save, especially when managing a large portfolio of clients.

  6. Has the ability to attach clients in the additional contact field in XPM been removed. I am no longer able to select an existing client to add to the additional contact on another clients record in XPM. If so why, this was great.

    Hey Christopher — thanks for suggesting this! Making it easier to add additional contacts to client records in XPH would be a really handy improvement and could save a lot of time.

    Right now, it’s done manually, but a smoother approach would make managing client info quicker and simpler.

  7. The timer icon looks almost just like a circle, the hour hand is tiny, it's barely distinguishable from the magnifying glass next to it, so it's hard to know what it means. How about using a picture of a stopwatch or copy the icon used by the iphone.

When the client contact details have been imported in this change (specifically businesses or entities), it has brought in every client address, now on some client profiles, it shows 4 of the same street address and 4 of the same postal address. Could this return to show only one of each to reduce the repetition and confusion.

    Hi Briony, appreciate your sharing here! We can see how removing the duplicate address would make client profiles feel simpler and more streamlined. When you’re managing a large number of clients, every bit of clarity on the screen helps you focus on what matters most.

    Having the same address listed twice can make profiles feel cluttered and, occasionally, create confusion if one gets updated and the other doesn’t. A cleaner view that only shows unique information would make it easier to scan and manage client details.

    Since there’s currently no way to toggle date ranges directly within that dashboard widget, I’ve classified this as Gaining Support to see how much interest it gathers from the rest of the community.


    I’ve updated your idea title to Practice Manager - Ability to navigate prior weeks on the Time Summary graph to make it easier for others to find and vote on.

  10. Previously the Client Code showed in the address bar (i.e. 8 digit number unique to the client). We could then add the number to the Client Code field under each client. This number is used to sync the client to external apps integrated with XPM (i.e. FYI Docs) This has now gone! The address has changed. How do we find the client code when setting up a new client now to enable accurate syncing??

    Thank you for raising this!


    With the recent updates to the interface and URL structures, that "shortcut" isn't as visible as it used to be. I’ve assessed your suggestion and moved it to Gaining Support.


    It’s a great piece of feedback because it highlights how a small UI change can have a big impact on your workflow with integrated apps.


    I’ve also updated the title to Practice Tools - Display Client Code in the Client record header to help other practice users find and vote for it.


    A quick tip for now: While it's not as fast as the address bar, you can still find and edit that code by clicking Edit Details within the client record.


    Alternatively, if you need to find these in bulk for several new clients, running a Client Report and including the 'Client Code' column is currently the most reliable way to…

  11. It would be good to have the ability to quickly update the due date of a job either directly from the XPH homepage under the 'Jobs assigned to me as staff' or from the client 'Jobs' section without having to go into each job and edit the due date. Or both options would be great too!

  13. Job Notifications - new notifications do not open up until you open an existing job (so we do not know that they are even there until you open the job)..Suggest Job Notifications should open when entering Job Manager (i.e. One level up).

  15. Staff can no longer add a note to client if view only permissions. Used to be able to with these same settings of not being able to edit a client. Still wanting staff to have access to creating/editing notes against a client. Can this be a separate toggle on so they still have access, currently can only view the notes.

  17. Currently you have to go into a client to see notes relating to that client. It would be useful to have an option to see all notes, by client.

  19. To be able to view the tax returns in tax manager by group - this helps us to ensure that all group members are being worked on simultaneously. Having the job status listed for in progress jobs would also help to know where preparation of the return is up to when viewing from Tax Manager.
