XPH - Bulk address change from Client group
In the old XPM we could bulk update client addresses for a client group, this functionality appears to have dropped off the new version, can we have it back please?
Hi everyone, we appreciate the feedback we've received on this change and while this was an intentional change this is something our product teams are monitoring feedback of very closely and considering improvements around in the new clients experience.
While we can't make any commitments atm I will be certain to share any plans with you all here.

We would like to request a return to the previous Xero version, as we have found the new interface incredibly frustrating. The ‘Client Services Version’ introduces complex workflows, reduces data accuracy, and necessitates multiple steps to access essential information. Several features such as bulk contact updates are absent, filters are not applied to useful fields, and basic information has become less accessible. These changes hinder efficient client service management and overall productivity. We’re not fans.

This was a terribly thought out change that has added literally hours of admin work onto our staff. I don't see how this isn't an easy thing to reinstate. Why did you make an 'intentional change' to worsen your service?

This is just another example of buying cheap software you get cheap results. We actually had to employ another team member after moving to xero due to the amount of manual processes !

Hi Kelly,
Looks like this intentional change has not gone down well. I have to agree with the responses below it's hard to understand why you would remove functionality that is making everyone's lives easier. -

Not very helpful from an admin database management point of view!
Hopefully this function is added back asap! -

Strongly agree with the concerns already raised. The removal of the bulk address update is a significant step backwards. For firms managing client groups with multiple related entities, this functionality was essential. Having to manually update each entity individually is not only incredibly time-consuming, but it also increases the risk of errors and inconsistencies across records. The response from Xero on this issue has also been disappointing. This functionality existed, it worked, and it has been taken away — why not simply reinstate it? Decisions like this suggest a disconnect between the development team and the real operational needs of accounting and advisory firms. We expect updates to improve efficiency, not reduce it. Extremely unhappy with this change.

Thank you for the information, however I find this update has taken the user back 15+ years to be worse than MYOB. As our practice relies on XPM for it's source of truth and our admin team pride themselves in keeping this database up to date the recent update has adversely impacted their ability to perform their roles and have made us question whether we continue using this product. Yes, we use this feature often, especially with large groups that would have over 20 entity addresses to update, it is a waste of resources and time to have to individually change every address. This as well as many other issues with the new version of XPM have caused us to rethink our confidence in your products.

How on earth could taking this option away be considered an improvement. Please bring it back. Changing the addresses individually for a group of 30+ clients who all share the same address is not ideal!!

Also very frustrating that mobile numbers not appearing for contacts attached to clients and that you have to "drill down" to see the mobile...ridiculous!

Can we also have the option to look at all addresses for each client without having to click into client? Having no visual over all addresses without having to go into each one is very annoying. It needs to be a column option, but in saying that the more columns that are ticked the less user friendly it is, having to 'scroll across' to see all columns. Formatting needs to be looked at.

Intentional change... What an absolute joke, why bother doing this beta and ask for feedback if you have made your minds up already and aren't going to listen or change anything

How on earth could this have been an Intentional Change??? And to then comment that you are monitoring feedback and considering improvements. How can this be considered an improvement, when it was an existing feature that you intentionally removed.

I'm sorry but the intentional change has clearly created more work for users than to streamline processes. Clearly this change has not gone down well with users and am amazed that the product team has not immediately re-instated the function. What would normally be a two minute job for me to change the address on a group of 10 entities, now takes in excess of half an hour and the fact when you look at the group as a whole and addresses are no longer visible (instead replaced with email addresses) with no option to add in an address column - this had been very detrimental to my day to day client updates tasks. Please listen to the feedback and sort asap.

This was an intentional change? Who on earth thought removing the bulk address update would be beneficial?

Our admin team update addresses and used the old feature on the daily. Some client groups have over 20 profiles and to do this manually is insane. Please reinstate the old way.

as the Admin Manager for our firm, my team is constantly updating Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, Physical/Postal Addresses - when we have Groups that have multiple clients (some 20+) this is hugely time consuming to update a detail one at a time now! the bulk update option after updating 1 should be reinstated.

Another significant issue with the removal of a feature like this is the increased risk of user error. We first need to identify every client that shares the same address, often across multiple client groups. We then have to re-enter that address individually (sometimes 50 or more times) which is both inefficient and highly prone to mistakes.
We recently migrated from APS, and this capability was one of its many key strengths. APS not only offers broader functionality than Xero, but it also allows bulk address updates; something that is no longer possible in Xero.
Given the volume of long-standing feature requests for functionality that is standard in other practice management systems, it is difficult not to conclude that the administrative realities of accounting practices are being undervalued.

I agree with all other comments, the removal of this function means much more time spent updating client address and leads to the possibility of errors when updating multiple entities with the same address change. Please bring back this function urgently.

The removal of this has created so much extra work for me. It definitely needs to be re-instated. And the address column also needs to be added back in to the group view.
