  3. It would be great if it were to be possible to apply accounting periods Period 1 , Period 2 etc even if these fall into the calendar months or fall into 4/4/5 week pattern . It would make looking at transaction reports in a pivot far easier , it would avoid having to save data , fix it with additional columns and then review constantly . This would be a game changer . All companies work to months calendar or something else yet Xero doesn't have this functionality which is crucial to analysing data and preparing month end .

  4. Ability to show cash flow forecast on the dashboard.

    Purpose: Users can easily get the snapshot on how their cash flow projection is doing for their business.

  5. I think it would be great to have a screen to manage notifications settings.
    This could present a long list of notifications for different things (e.g. for me the important ones are activity statement due soon, STP filing overdue).
    For each item, the user could select if they want it active, how they want to be notified (e.g. header line, or in a widget), and whether to be emailed (very helpful for people like me who only log in once or twice a week and do a days work).

Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones.   8. Great Change
    Upcoming changes are very useful. However, a small suggestion re. the home page menu: As an Accountant in practice would like the following order.

    Home
    Accounting
    Sales
    Purchases
    Payroll
    Reporting
    Tax and
    Contacts.

  9. For the 'approve and pay' user the remittance function is limited. They should have the functionality to send remittances on a batch payment and also be able to access the remittance button at a later date. An admin member of staff needs access to the full remittance capability in order to complete their duties fully.

  10. Please add the ability to dismiss/hide the setup guide without the need to have clicked through and used all options in the guide. Some do not apply to my organization and so there is no way to get the blue setup guide button to disappear and it gets in the way of other things on the screen.

  11. Get rid of this stupid MFA on EVERY sign in.
    It used to be monthly which was bad enough, now it is a constant pain having to use an authentication device just to get access to Xero. MFA is a complete waste of user time. My bank doesn't use it and I trust them not to lose my money, so why does accounting software need it?
    If the ATO insists on it with their stupid STP, then link it to STP and nothing else.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback about multi-factor authentication, and this has been shared with our teams internally. Security and protecting your data is highly important to us and we want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for removing the requirements for logging into Xero with multi-factor authentication.

    That said, we're continuing to improve the experience and offering more ways to verify your identity when logging into Xero.

  13. I’d love to see a feature added that helps prevent accidental data loss when entering conversion balances. Currently, if you leave the page without saving, there’s no warning and it’s easy to lose your work. I’d really appreciate a dialogue window that pops up when you try to navigate away with unsaved changes.

    We've now reviewed your idea and it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

    Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that could benefit from the warning/ pop up notification on unsaved conversion balances before they navigate away so they can add their vote too!

    Other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  14. It's very hard to tell multiple organizations apart, particularly if they have the same initials. Currently, Xero simply displays the organizations' initials. It also assigns a random color to each organization. It would help distinguish these greatly if the organization settings allowed me to upload an avatar for each organization. Xero's Demo Company already illustrates how this feature would look. Also, it would help edit the color Xero assigns so that the color could match each organization's branding.

  15. Require functionality that allows quotes to be sent to management for approval before they can be sent out to customers.
    Purpose: to reduce business risk and ensure prices / vendor terms are agreed and approved.

  17. List prepayments separately from "Awaiting payment" report in Dashboard.
    At the moment, prepayments are lumped together with "Awaiting payment" reports in Dashboard. This gives a wrong view of the actual number of invoices that are awaiting payment. Please list prepayments separately on a different line.

  18. I have the a tablet and use a cover with a keyboard, it would be so much easier to use the app if the screen didn't default to portrait mode and activating the screen keyboard. Please allow the Xero app to rotate to landscape so that I can use the cover keyboard.

    Hi team, appreciate the interest and clarification that we've received through this idea fro customers.

    Right now adding additional placeholders to email templates isn't in our short term plans but we're continuing to follow the interest of this here.

    For the time being I know not the 'set and forget' solution you're after here - you can edit the default email to add the Contact Account Number before sending the invoice.

  20. There seems to be a lot of white space on each page. An accounting system really needs to show concise, compact, neat lines so it is easy to compare figures without having to scroll up and down all the time. I feel that Xero is more interested in the look of the screen, when really the information is the most important part of an accounting system.

    The important information seems to start half way down the screen!
