  1. It could be helpful to have the functionality to be able to copy and existing company in Xero in order to create a new one with the same details. This would make setup of the new one much faster particularly when companies have multiple entities that do the same thing just in different states / Emirates / countries even. You can pretty much copy anything else within Xero so it would be beneficial to be able to just clone the company itself.

  2. When raising client invoices, it would be good to be able to submit the invoice to a Manager for approval.
    When processing supplier bills, it would be good to be able to submit the bill to a Manager for approval of payment of that expense.
    In both cases, this would mean that approval details of "who" and "when" would be noted in the History of the invoice/bill without needing to attach a file showing the approval or tracking this outside of the system.

  3. Please look into the idea for Importing and Exporting exchange rate from Xero for the ease of update if default XE Rate is not used by the organisation and the export function to generate exchange rates used for the period.

I would like to recommend that standard access users be able to access a very handy "uncoded statement transaction report" that at this point is only available to the advisers role (usually accountants). I am told for advisers it appears on the front page of bank reconciliation. If it wasn't for chatting to an accountant one day about typing out lists to my clients I wouldn't know about it.   6. Ability to save and remember users’ settings in Xero (e.g. view of chart of accounts).

    Purpose: Each users’ in Xero org have their own settings preference, and by enabling this feature, it’ll improve their workflow.

    Hi team, while not relevant to all areas of Xero atm. As we continue to develop the product you'll find there are many places where teams are beginning to add improvements to behaviours such as Xero remembering your last selection. 

    For example, in the Products and Services page(Inventory items) if you make a change to the number of items shown, and navigate away from the page when you return this selection is remembered. A couple of exceptions to this is when you change browsers, or if you're using incognito mode or a private browsing page. 

    We appreciate there are more places across Xero you'd like to see these behaviours and we'll keep you updated of more improvements here.

  8. I'd prefer to see the Tax Menu consolidated into either the Reporting or Accounting menu. Having more options just adds clutter and unnecessarily overwhelms users.

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest from you all on the new navigation experience.

    We're keen to continue tracking where our customers would find features the most useful in terms of navigation and if there are any changes for the location of Tax I will share with you here.

  9. Audit trail of logins to Xero - there seems to be a series of different visual aids and short screen reports showing when a user last logged in, however from an audit perspective, it would be ideal to have a report that can be run for set periods showing when users have logged in. The information to run this type of report is there from the History and Notes report and the Assurance Dashboard. However a report that shows a time/date stamp would be ideal as evidence in cases of fraud/performance management

    Hi team, we appreciate the feedback and why you'd like to be able to look at history of logins for an organisation.

    Right now, while not a full audit trail like you're after here there is the Assurance Dashboard where you can view User Activity to see what actions users within an org have been taking.

    As many will know the History & notes report will also give you deeper insight into some of the actions made by users across your org.

    Being open this isn't something we have immediate plans for developing but will continue to keep a close pulse on this idea here and support it continues to receive. If there are any updates we will share.

  10. It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once.     Hi Cath, when you say you have to log out and then into the other org, are you using 2 separate Xero account logins?

    Appreciate not the ideal solution but you could use incognito mode atm, to open the organisation you need to reference?

    Just want to add that it's only possible for adviser or standard + reports roles to view, edit or post Manual Journals. 

    Does that change your idea here at all?

  12. We would like our auditors / account reviewers to have Read Only access to our accounts in Xero however this does not enable them to view Xero Files, which is where we save our bank statements, etc.

    Currently we need to give them Standard Access so that they can have access to the documents in Files, however this also gives them the ability to change the accounts as well.

    We would like to suggest the Xero files be added to users with Read Only access.

    You'll find with the new Chart of accounts watchlist widget you'll be able to reorder by any column in the watchlist 😊

  14. We use Xero for our Bookkeeping business & would like to invite clients to view only the information pertaining to their individual business records. Right now, anyone who logs in can see every other client’s information, as well as their own.

    Hi team, rounding back to this idea here it appears there are a few different use cases being raised around permissions.

    From the sounds some would like to restrict access to for users to specific contact records, and we have an idea for this here that I'd recommend joining.

    For those that would like to restrict access to specific reports we have another idea around this we'd recommend joining.

    I'll adapt the title of this idea for those that'd like to restrict access to specific chart of accounts.

    We appreciate interest in each and you're welcome to join each idea you'd like to see development for, and we'll share any updates on each idea respectively.

    Great to be getting this feedback and see the input from our community that are getting a gauge of the new navigation experience. Thank you.

    Our product teams are very close to the different needs being shared from our customers in the forum here and we will keep you updated if there are any plans made around the menu options for Sales.

  18. You can upload your logo and it appears on your invoices. Great. But here is an easy win, replace the initials on the Menu drop down with the company logo too? It would just be a nice touch.

    Hi everyone, we've released a new send modal for new invoicing in Xero. As part of this update you now have a rich text editor that allows for small formatting changes such as bold, italics, underlining and the ability to insert emojis. 

    You'll also find other improvements like the ability to cc and bcc emails, and have more visibility of your emails and the PDF of the invoice with a preview on the left of the screen. 

    While this is limited to new invoicing at present, we will look into surfacing this to other areas of the product over time. We'll let you know of any further change for this, here.

    Hi Kirsty, having looped in with the team this placeholder is not something that has been developed in new invoicing and isn't on the immediate plans at present.

    For the time being, you'll be able to use the shortcut shared in classic invoicing. We'll re-open the idea to continue building traction in this here and I'll update you if there is any progress surrounding placeholders that'd help here.
