  1. We'd like to create a custom tax report which identifies individual client who have claimed a deduction at Item D12 so we can double check we have the notice of intent to claim on file.

  3. There needs to be functionality to have multiple trusts or superfunds with the same name i.e. Smith Family Trust or Brown Family Superannuation Fund, as ATO does no require these to be unique, without causing issue with invoices in Blue Xero or having to change the name in XPM to differentiate and have to change the name again each time you lodge. Same name trusts and superfunds is not uncommon.

  4. XPM include archived clients in XERO search / list endpoints. Similarly, to how contacts in the accounting API are handled by passing the includeArchived=true query. This will allow clients from XPM with a status of ARCHIVED to be included in the response.

  5. The dividends are not sorted alphabetically in the return, although they are sorted in the prefill. Can we have the ability to sort fields included in the individual tax return worksheets, such as Item 11 Dividends, Item D5 Other work Expenses, and other similar fields.
    This will make it easier to check and compare, and it looks much more professional.

  6. One click tax estimate.
    We often just print a tax estimate and it would be great to have one button for the tax estimate rather than having to unclick all the other options in the print menu.

  7. It would be useful to have the ability to mark a document pack as complete even if some of the signatures are missing.

    We have had occasions where trustees refuse to sign via document packs after the clients have already signed. We then have to print the partially signed documents and send hard copies for trustees to sign.

    This leaves the document pack incomplete. The only option available is to cancel the pack, not ideal The ability to mark the pack as complete would be a great addition.

  8. It would be good to have a discussion or description section against each line item in the Analytical review workpaper. Allowing for "oddities" to be cleared. Making the review process easier.

    Hi community, we're excited to share that the ability to add notes to all line items will be soon available to all in new Xero Workpapers! We're starting the rollout to our Australian partners, and will go wider to other regions in early 2026. Thanks again for your feedback and we'll round back to confirm when live to all Partners.

  9. The Client Type field is for segmentation of clients, but it isn't able to have data imported into it. Please change this so that we can import client segment data into the Client Type field.

  10. Ability to edit review point, internal query and client query responses.

    Currently once you click reply to an Internal Query or review point or client query in workpapers there is no option to edit. This is frustrating if you make a spelling error or accidentally respond to the wrong query. It would be great to have the ability to be able to edit these responses if necessary.

    We appreciate the interest and attention around this idea, team. As you might've heard, at Xerocon we announced our new Xero Workpapers.

    Taking on board feedback from our community to develop this, new Workpapers provides the ability to edit internal queries in Workpapers. We're excited for you to try this new experience and have just begun rollout to Australian partners, with other regions soon to come in 2026. Thanks for sharing how this feature could benefit your practice. We'll return to share once rolled out to 100%.

  11. It would be great to have the ability setup recurring invoices directly in XPM for annual agreements rather than "pushing" recurring invoices similar to setting up recurring jobs in XPM.

  13. Since the recent XPM update in Nov/Dec 2025, the balance date for new clients is now auto-populating as January. For the majority of New Zealand clients, the balance date is March, so defaulting to January is not practical.

    If the balance date is going to be auto-populated, it should default to March rather than January to better reflect common NZ reporting periods.

  14. It'd be helpful in some cases to provide a Staff member temporary access to a Client.
    There can be situations where a staff may only need access for a day or month and being able to set a timeframe for this and then access be removed would be helpful.

    Hi team, this idea has been created off the back of this idea to get a good understanding of the interest in specifically providing temporary Client access to a staff member.

    While this isn't somethign we have planned atm, our product team would like to get insight to consider in future planning. Thanks!

Could we get a PAYG Instalment worksheet please, with an option to tick if a client is a new entrant to the PAYG instalment system and a field where we can enter the expected lodgement date of the tax return. These fields can then drive the PAYG instalment estimate for the current financial year.
    Currently Xero just estimates the instalments for the four quarters which isn't always correct. For example if we lodge a return in November and the client is entering the PAYG instalment system for the first time, there's no way to zero out the September quarter without…

    Hi YiLing thanks for sharing this idea. Currently Xero allows the ability to use draft returns and the "Estimate" tab for basic scenario testing. For complex scenarios, it is recommended to use ATO calculators and compare results manually. We will move this idea to Gaining support and monitor for more traction from users.

  17. Hi,

    It would be nice if the software could search by a entity's registered business names or previously know entity names and it bring up the current company file.

    We are able to add previous names or business names to the custom fields under a company's profile, but unless you know all the names by memory it can be hard to match up clients when you receive correspondence address to the business name and no ABN is mentioned.

    Currently when this occurs we have to either search ABN lookup or ASIC register and trying to get relevant information we can…

    Hi community, thanks for sharing your interest through this idea. We recently announced the Xero Partner Hub at Xerocon. It encompasses many improvements for our partners to be able to move more efficiently and serve clients. One of the changes that accommodates part of the idea here is that you'll be able to search the Client list by a clients organisation name, or legal/trading name as mentioned on this related idea.

    We appreciate there may be some practices using custom fields for this data and we want to be open that custom fields will not be searchable from the Client list. We have another idea for searching custom fields that you can join and follow for updates. You can find out more about Xero Partner Hub from our website.

  18. When reviewing WIP for a client you can't see the title of each job without clicking in to it. Could we please make the job column wider so we can see what the job is without opening it.

    Thanks for sharing with us here in Product Ideas, everyone.

    We're working on modernising the client record user interface(UI) and your idea here is being worked into this change.

    We'll first be making this available to our UK practices, with the aim of eventually expanding this to all regions. I'll be back to confirm as this starts to roll and give more detail of the change.

  19. Some banks require the ABN or ACN to be present on all pages of the Financial Reports supplied to them. Currently, the only way to do this is to export the report to Excel and then painstakingly type the ABN/ACN in to every single page.

    There should be an option to toggle this on/off. Alternatively a field type that pulls the ABN from the company file would be suffice to add to the report template.

    Please see attached an example on the footer of a report page.

  20. Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.
