  1. We work in small teams and it would be great if we could get a "Staff" drop down added for the client set up. So we could know the partner on the account, the lead accountant/manager and the staff member that works on the file so we know who to approach for various issues :)

  2. The current livestock schedule in trust tax return (and probably others) is insufficient.

    We calculate livestock on Market Value in the Financials and inset these figures into the Tax Return, then use the Reconciliation area to bring it back to Average Cost.

    This worked perfectly fine in MYOB Tax, as we could overwrite the average cost calculation in the livestock trading schedule. However in Xero Tax we can't overwrite the closing stock value.

  4. Ability to add multiple email addresses for tax payment letters.
    This would be great if looked into very soon.
    We have been manually entering additional email addresses which is a bit of a worry if a character is misspelt.
    When copy and paste is used the changes get made to all clients and is a real disaster.

  5. Audit trail to see who has created / amended / deleted custom reports. We had a situation where a report was deleted and unable to identify who had inadvertently done this.

  7. Workpapers to run for periods (not just years) and for periods ending not on a month end.

    The majority of my clients have a year end with 5 April. At the moment i would only be able to run the work papers to 31 March. I also have other clients with year end dates throughout the year.

    In addition to this, I can only run the workpapers for a full year. What happens if a business ceases. Often we need to run a set of accounts, and therefore workpapers, for a shorter/longer period.

  8. Returns Management User Interface (UI) - "All" Tab Improvements/Customization

    To improve handling returns by adding bulk selection and status update functionalities on the "All" tab of the Returns Management interface. Also, suggesting having a customizable UI to best fit our workflow preference.

    Key Features:

    Action Buttons
    - Located in the table header, these buttons perform bulk actions such as "Approved", "Out to Sign", and "Sign". They remain disabled unless one or more return items are selected.

    Checkbox
    - Each return item has an associated checkbox to allow selection. By default, these checkboxes are unchecked.

  9. To have a function that essentially works as a sticky note on the details page of the clients file. Although there is the notes function, it it easily lost within the multiple tabs, however if something was right there on the home screen for all to see it isn't as easily missed/ignored. It could be something simple like a staff member has been trying to get in touch with the client, or bringing attention to an address change, noting the preferred method for documents to be signed etc.

  10. In the last financial year, we made multiple and significant layout changes to the accounting schedules in our financial notes.
    Therefore, we intend to 'Copy and Edit' most of our financial reports. However, we have found that when you 'edit layout' it removes the date field codes in our numbered notes regardless of if you edit the number notes or not - therefore losing it's auto updating feature.
    As a result, we are now having to manually update the year in all of our financials, or start from scratch.
    Please make it so edit layout does not remove date fields…

    Hi team, we really appreciate everyone that got involved in the teams research late last year.   13. To have a column in the return screen that shows the detail of the tax return (e.g. estimated tax payable / refundable and / or the Taxable Income amount).

  14. XPM has been updated recently (April 2025) and the update has removed the re-ordering of tasks function. We used the re-ordering function to put all tasks in chronological order e.g. monthly payroll tasks, VAT returns, year end accounts were all arranged in date order. Since the update all the re-ordering that we have completed on jobs have been changed and now all tasks are non-chronological and in a jumbled order. This is very frustrating. Please could Xero re-instate the ability to re-order tasks as required? These changes are a backwards step.

  16. I love the function of being able to import data from a Xero file/ledger directly into a Xero tax.

    However, it seems that you can only import date to 30 June. It doesn't appear to be able to import for a substituted accounting period.

    It would be helpful to be able to select the period to import.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the engagement from you all in this idea.

    Right now, we do not have plans for adding asset worksheets for Foreign Rental Capital allowance, or Capital works in the Income Tax return.

    We will continue to keep a close eye on the interest for these through this idea, and share if there are any updates.

  18. When I use Xero tax it pre-populates the tax agent number overriding the previous entry in the previous year. We want this to be the client phone number due to we want the ATO to contact them.

    Every tax return it is taking manual labour to change the phone number from the pre-populated phone number.

    We'd like the option to pre-populate the client phone number like other client information.

    We'd prefer to not have to delete any details to replace the phone number and this was resulting in tax return error.

  19. Would be good to have an "Allocate" command button so income, deductions, tax credits are split automatically as per the percentage for each individual in a trust, partnership and LTC company. It is time consuming when there are multiple individuals and varying percentage splits.

  20. When Settlor relationship exists for a client, this needs to flow through automatically to the IR6 in the same way that Beneficiary relationships do.
