    Hi everyone, thanks for the continued engagement and support in this idea.

    While this is something we'll keep reviewing for Xero Tax(UK) there are no plans for adding spouse links right now.

    If there's any development planned for this in Xero Tax(UK) we'll be sure to share an update with you all, on this idea.

  2. I would like to place feedback around user settings, The user permissions are limiting and weird ones seem to go together. Currently all staff can see everyone's timesheets, we we're advised to remove the financial setting under financial privilege's to remove staff access to timesheets, in doing so staff could no longer see budgets on jobs, therefore we had to give all users back that permission, in effect allowing all staff access to everyone's timesheets it just doesn't make sense.

  4. Would love to be able to re-arrange line items in Tax Returns as we have everything listed in alphabetical order. In HandiSoft, we could click and drag lines.

    Example situation:

    Shares in 2020
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    Shares in 2021
    ANZ
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    To add in ANZ, we need to delete BOQ, CBA and WBC, add in ANZ and then re-add BOQ, CBA and WBC. Very time consuming if there are multiple lines to add.

Would it be possible to integrate a feature where the workpapers notify the user that there may be Xero accounts that have balances in the relevant year that have not pulled through to any of the workpapers being used (say for example because the report codes mapping for a new account has not been set up properly)?

    New Workpapers offers a seamless compliance workflow, making it easy to identify discrepancies with a rich working trial balance and in-built collaboration.

    Starting to rollout in Australia, and we'll be following with release to other regions in 2026. We'll be sure to keep you updated on the progress here as we get closer to the release dates for other regions.

  6. Since the recent update in November/December 2025, when navigating back using the back arrow from a specific client, the system returns to the full client list rather than the client’s group.

    It would be more helpful if the back arrow returned users to the relevant group view instead of the full client list.

  7. Following the XPM updates in November and December 2025, the star indicator within client groups that identified the main entity has been removed.

    This indicator was heavily relied on to quickly identify the primary entity within a group. Please reinstate the star or an equivalent visual marker so the main entity can be clearly identified at a glance.

  8. It is not currently possible to pull a report of all clients that have Franked distributions (field U) and Franking credit (field D) on their tax returns. As the ATO has released a new area of focus on franking credit trading rules known as the '45 day holding period rule' we would like an easy way to track and highlight companies that could

    Appreciate you raising the idea in the forums here. We'll continue to get a sense of the interest in being able to pull these Franking fields with the report builder.

    If there are any plans made for enabling this we'll be sure to share with you all here.

  9. Having the option to transfer a donation rebate to multiple tax types, tax years and IRD numbers would be great. For example, transferring credit to terminal tax and also provisional tax or tax owing from a previous year.

  10. As 'Blue Xero' supports a 'Not for Profit' organisation, it disappointing that an accompanying
    CT600 cannot be produced in Xero Tax for a charity.

  12. When using Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for job management, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain visibility because there’s no audit trail or history log for key actions like:

    • When a job was created or reassigned
    • Who changed the job’s due date or status
    • When a job’s responsibility moved from one team member to another

    This lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to track accountability or performance accurately.

    Why is this so important?
    As a firm, we track job completion and lodgement performance, but without a history log, we can’t see whether a job was reassigned after the due date or…

  13. We use multiple tax agent numbers across our business yet when we lodge STP reports via the client's organisation, we can only use one tax agent number for all clients as Xero only allows for one tax agent number to be set in Xero HQ.

    This is causing many issues, including staff and clients inadvertently updating tax agent details in the STP lodgment area on their own file, which is then updating the tax agent in HQ for all STP lodgements.

  15. No option to select 'File MTD VAT Return' in bulk for clients when setting up a new staff member in Xero HQ. After assigning the clients in bulk for a new staff member you have to then go into each client individually to give this permission.

  16. Currently we are only able delete Client Groups in XPM. That means there are 'inactive' groups when the clients move on making it harder to see how many Groups you are actually working with.

    It would be great to be able to Archive instead. This would keep the Group Count 'clean' and you can still report on Groups

  17. Currently when a staff member leaves we can remove their access on the clients we subscribe to Xero but can't remove access where the client subscribes directly and has invited them in.

    For security purposes, it would be good if the practice admin could easily run a report on the leaver showing all the clients they have access to. You can do this on screen however we want the client managers to get in touch with their relevant clients as they have the relationship.

    Hi team, we appreciate the engagement through this idea about managing staff access.

    To provide an update on how this currently works with the new unified staff and client experiences - When removing a staff member from your practice, the following organisation access is also removed:

    1. Linked to active clients
    2. Linked to archived clients
    3. Owned by the practice

    We're also looking into further enhancements to this flow to make the removal of org access optional. I'll share another update to confirm once this is implemented. Thanks

  18. Would be good if there was an option to reorder the pages in a tax return, primarily to be able to bring the tax estimate to the front page of the tax return as that tends to be the key information the client wants to see and it is buried at page 3 or 4 of the tax return when printed.
