  2. The option to have a draft automatically created when a recurring job is generated. Such as for GST and AIM.
    It would be very helpful by saving time and assist us in making sure they are all filed.

  3. I use 'client groups' extensively in HQ. I need to see which clients are not in a group at all, and which ones are in more than one group, but this is not possible. Please allow us to report on which groups each client is in.

    Hi community, just jumping in here to share that we have recently made an improvement to the groups feature in Xero HQ 🎉
    Within a Client record, you can now see what groups they belong to, and add or remove them - check out this article for more information. Please note, this is not available as a report, but is available on a client by client basis.

    While the team have been really busy working on the single client record, they also hope to introduce a Groups list and group details (similar to what is currently available in XPM) to increase the ability to manage Groups within HQ. We’ll be sure to return & update you here when that’s available.

  4. Since the recent update in Nov/Dec 2025, client notes are collapsed when they exceed a few lines, which makes it too easy to miss important information. All the notes we add in XPM are all relevant, we don't want any to be hidden.

    Previously, notes were fully visible by default. Restoring this behaviour would make critical information easier to see at a glance.

    If notes must remain collapsible, an option to show the full note by default would be preferred. Alternatively, the “show more” prompt should be much more visually prominent so it is not overlooked.

  5. Rename "other name" field to "middle name/s", need another field for casual name (say for example people that go by their middle name) and also put first name or casual name on contact details screen that is shown on front screen, currently showing other name for some reason...

  6. It would be helpful to merge clients in XPM where two accounts have been created (different names) and tax returns filed under each one. For example a client entered under their maiden name and married name who have filed tax returns. In our case a duplicate was accidently created when doing the return and we have no way to now shift the tax return to the correct and active client account in XPM.

    With the soon to come Xero Partner Hub we'll be bringing all your practice tools under one umbrella and improving your experience in managing and working with clients in your practice. With the combined experiences of Xero HQ and Practice Manager this'll include the ability to merge two clients into one, like you're after here 🙂

  7. Have logged this support query, which I also raised a number of years ago and cannot believe how this has not been fixed. Answer from support below:

    In XPM there is no first and last name field for contacts, rather it is just one box for the Name field. While in Xero there are two fields to put a contacts first and last name separately.

    So when a contact on a client syncs from XPM into Xero it is placed into the Last Name field as it recognises the name as one field. Currently, the only way to resolve this…

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your appetite in this idea. You may have seen some of the improvements coming with Xero Partner Hub soon as we unify the client and staff experiences across practice tools.

    We want to be open that there are no changes planned for syncing contacts from Xero blue into Xero Partner Hub at this stage but we'll continue to keep a close eye on the interest here and share if any plans are made.

  8. New Job Manager Budget % - base on $ not time.
    Please give us the option to set the budget % based on the fee not time.

    As our jobs are created though the Ignition integration, our fee budget $ is prefilled. We don't set the time budget as this would be a very manual process.

  9. When using Xero Workpapers, it imports the figures across from the Xero client file without decimals. Therefore, when I'm comparing these figures in Workpapers to client reports and bank statements these are often slightly out.

    Can you please update Workpapers so that there is an option to show decimal places?

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and understand the importance of having decimal places visible in workpapers especially for tasks that require a high level of detail. I'm pleased to let you know that our product teams have paid close attention to the idea from our community here as they develop our new Workpapers solution, where all workpapers in the new solution will show 2 decimal places.

    For those of you using the existing Workpapers solution, there's no immediate change. You can continue with your current workflow. Once the new solution becomes available, we'll share more information on how to access it.

    We're beginning to roll this out to Partners starting with Australia, and will be expanding to other regions in early 2026.

  10. Delete Multiple Jobs. When you want to cancel/delete a job, you have to do this one by one. This is okay but if you have like 30 BAS jobs from x client, it is a pain to delete one by one.

  11. Since the recent update in Nov/Dec 2025, hovering over a client name on the XPM group screen shows a pop-up label that repeats the client name.

    This pop-up does not provide any additional information and often gets in the way while navigating the screen. Removing it would improve usability and reduce unnecessary on-screen clutter.

    Thanks for your feedback on the pop-up label when hovering over client names in XPM.

    This idea has moved to Gaining support, which means our community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  12. It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

    Thanks for sharing your idea to include GST reports in report templates.

    We can see how this would be a real time-saver, especially when you’re building out report packs for clients or internal teams. There’s clearly a strong appetite for this feature, and we understand why. Being able to add GST reports directly into templates would simplify the process of creating complete, consistent report packs for any purpose.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. That means it's open for voting and comments, and we’ll continue to monitor interest from the community. Your input helps inform how we prioritise future updates to Xero. We’ll keep you posted here with any developments.

  13. It would be great if they system would not allow disbursements/ costs to be added to closed jobs.
    This can cause a lot of admin work when Xero fees are bulk imported to our clients accounts job but is then closed once the accounts have been completed. We have too ensure the job number is updated on the import each time we close a job as the system will allow bulk uploads. It would be great if an error code showed and did not allow this to occur.

  14. Archiving a client with a Xero Ledger/Plan seems almost too easy as there is no warning to prompt you to cancel the subscription/or remove yourself as a user - So you could end up paying for a Xero Ledger/plan indefinitely and not know.

    As an example, we discovered 20+ entities that had been archived in XPM/XeroHQ but not cancelled in Xero.

    There is currently no way to easily find out if any active ledgers/plans are on the Archived list (which thanks to the Xero Single Client Record Process we now have 3,000+ archived clients) as you

  15. You have 4 other online cloud document management systems listed via XPM. We use SharePoint and would request this to be added as a further option to link our programs for efficiency and easy of use.

    We would then like tasks to be setup in jobs, that we can "link" documents in Sharepoint, to tasks/jobs in XPM.

  16. For non-Xero clients, it would be very useful to be able to use workpapers and include the actual account balance from the Client's accounts, rather than displaying the Xero account balance as nil. As a practice, we use Xero workpapers, but not every single client uses Xero.

  17. When there is a Managed Fund distribution on the prefill, the distribution is automatically entered into the Managed fund distribution worksheet. If there is no figure, it pulls through a $0.00 which leads to a $0.00 at the primary producer label L. This then automatically triggers the income averaging to which you manually have to OPT out of. Please fix this issue.

  18. Outside organisations are requesting copies of Tax returns and we don't want to show Client's bank account details and date of birth on the Lodged Tax Returns when sending via Xero electronically.

    Clients of ours firm are concerned with identity theft. If this could be implemented it would be a great feature.

    This affects Xero Tax and Xero Practice Manager.

  19. We use client codes for all our clients. There is an option to input this into the client record, but it would be good to be able to see that on the screen and sort by it, rather than just alphabetical list of clients.
